We hold regular meetings with a range of speakers; giving members the opportunity to exchange views, network and obtain information on topical issues. We send regular correspondence to ensure that members are kept up to date with events, local or national government policy & regulatory changes that impact on the Independent Sector. Membership of GCPA is considered a sign of a progressive organisation, committed to delivering the highest standards of care and keen to play an active part in the county’s wider social care community. Representatives of the Gloucestershire Care Providers Association attend regular strategic and liaison meetings with Social Care Officers, to discuss and review contracts, procedures and other issues. We also work very closely with the NHS, including the Clinical Commissioning Group and Gloucestershire NHS Foundation Trust throughout the county, working together on a variety of initiatives aimed both at tackling immediate issues facing vulnerable people and designing better ways of working for the future. In addition we have strong links with CQC (Care Quality Commission) and regularly liaise with Senior County Councillors, local MPs, local authority Commissioners and other decision makers, influencers and interested organisations. The McKillen School of Dance was established in 2017, aiming to be the most trusted provider in delivering dance, drama and singing education. Creating a safe and nurturing environment for both children who want to dance as a hobby and those who want a career from it. TMSOD believes that when we stop learning, we stop growing. This is why we dedicate a minimum of 15 hours a year to staff development and education. This ensures our teachers are equiped with the best knowledge and facilities possible to teach our pupils at the highest standard possible. I have loved dance all of my life, competing and sitting exams. As a dancer, I have had many experiences - to name a few; MOVEIT Main Stage, MOVEIT class assistant, Got to Dance auditions,, Scottish Ballet assistant with Hansel and Gretel performance Belfast 2017, Dance World Cup Dancer. As a teacher - I am currently I am fully qualified with the Royal Academy of Dance, ISTD Contemporary, Acrobatic Arts, DDMIX, iDance Contemporary, Progressing Ballet Technique and the Associated Board of Dance. While teaching full time I am also studying for another two teaching qualifications to add to the studio. In the first year of opening the school, my dancers auditioned with my choreography and where on Team Northern Ireland 2018 for the Dance World Cup. Currently I have pupils in associate and training programmes in both Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Our focus is on building strong confident and technical all-round performers, while encouraging a positive and comfortable atmosphere in class as well as giving our students opportunities to gain experience in shows, competitions master classes and events with high production values.

Duet Academy of Dance was established in 1997 with classes held in Glen Parva. All lessons are given under the personal tuition of the principal teacher, Miss Sara, who has been teaching for more than 30 years and is a fully qualified, registered teacher of the British Theatre Dance Association (BTDA). We are delighted to have recently welcomed former Duet dancer, Miss Lyd, to the teaching faculty. Miss Lyd brings a wealth of performance experience being actively involved in a wide variety of shows at The Little Theatre. MIss Lyd taken part in the annual pantomimes for the past 10 years, 8 of which as dance captain. She is also a qualified zumba instructor. Lessons are held in ballet, tap, modern jazz, acrobatics and stage performance. All students are given the opportunity to take examinations leading to accredited qualifications and to take part in our annual show and medal tests focusing on performance skills. Lessons are structured to improve your child's social and listening skills, develop confidence, build self-esteem and assist with their physical development and mental well-being. For the younger children we have lots of dancing fun, singing, making friends and is a brilliant introduction to music and movement to help them to appreciate the joy of dance from an early age. Our focus for all age groups is on building confidence, learning new skills and having fun. We teach children from 3 years of age to adults and take great pride in seeing them excel as they progress their journey in dance.
