She was only a few months old and I wasn’t sure where to start. We went along to quite a few different baby and toddler music classes and groups, but when Monkey Music was recommended to me by a friend, from the very first class we were hooked and never looked back. I was impressed with everything about the class, the structured lesson plans, the progressive musical curricula and a wonderfully caring teacher.Very soon my little girl loved her sessions so much we had to have a collection at home of the Monkey Music songs, books and of course Monkey and Mo so she could perform her very own classes.Because the curricular is progressive by nature, it often means that families stay with Monkey Music and even bring their new additions along, (I’m now attending with my second child). The four levels of Monkey Music are specially developed around the capabilities and interests of your child, at that specific time in their lives. You will hear traditional nursery rhymes as well as some of the 500 original Monkey Music songs that have been specially written to support the curricula and your child’s development. To aid this we will use an extensive kit of carefully selected instruments, sensory and colourful props with lots and lots of activities and actions. All of the above will certainly help your child with their Social, Physical and Language Skills. It has been scientifically proven that music has great advantages and health benefits for children. One of those benefits is Music helps to improve brain power and memory. Students who were exposed to music while growing up excelled better academically than those who were not. Music helps in stimulating the part of the brain that is responsible for reading, mathematics and emotional development. Music also helps with a child’s development of social skills.Being part of a Monkey Music class will help your child relate to others, feel part of a group and eventually listen to instruction. You will watch their confidence grow and they will certainly be rewarded with praise and will feel a great sense of achievement. I have undergone extensive training to ensure I can provide a fun packed but professional class for your family.I am fully CRB checked and paediatric First Aid trained. Our classes will allow you to share precious time together, meet like-minded people and for your children to make Musical friends, so why not book your complimentary class so you can experience Monkey Music for yourself and I’m sure you too will become part of the Monkey Music family.

Warrington Russian Language School Solnyshko

warrington russian language school solnyshko

Warrington

It all began in June 2012, when a team of parents-enthusiasts set up a Russian speaking parent and toddler group, called “Solnyshko" (loosely translated as “Sunshine”). The aim of this group was to create a Russian speaking environment for their young children and help them in learning the Russian language. The parent and toddler group is aimed at children from 1 to 3 years and operates all year around, excluding school holidays. The sessions include the staples of singing, dancing, nursery rhymes, puppet shows, crafts and sensory activities for the younger ones, as well as themed sessions aimed at expanding vocabulary of a particular topic of the week, basic numeracy and knowledge of the alphabet. Following growing demand and in response to a number of requests, the Committee decided to open a Saturday school for teaching Russian language to older children in more depth. Thus, in September 2013 Warrington Russian Language School “Solnyshko” opened its doors to older children. The opening ceremony was attended by the Mayor of Warrington and accompanying dignitaries. "Solnyshko" has been expanding ever since and currently offers classes to children aged from 3 and 16 years. Classes are organised according to age and knowledge of the Russian language. The curriculum includes lessons of Russian language and literature, expanding vocabulary and music, preparing for Russian language GCSE exam. Our goal - creation of friendly Russian-speaking environment for children, helping them to learn the language, make friends and have fun. We are truly an international school, we unite people from different backgrounds and ethnic groups. The school holds regular “open lessons” and special children performances involving the school’s pupils, where parents have the opportunity to observe the development and success of their children. The Committee and school staff are tirelessly working on creating a positive and welcoming atmosphere in the school, which is important not only for children, but also helps adults to develop and maintain social ties and support each other. The school has a system of seeking parents feedback - in addition to regular parent surveys through written questionnaires, parents are invited to write their comments and suggestions and drop them in the “suggestion box”, located next to the entrance. They are also encouraged to ask questions or make suggestions at any time. The Committee is always glad to welcome new volunteers, who wish to join the management of the school. All school staff are DBS is checked. School teachers have appropriate pedagogical education and experience of working with children. Classes are held each Saturday from 9.30 to 11:50. From 12:00 a selection of clubs start. "Solnyshko" is a not-for-profit organisation, registered with Warrington Borough Council. Families, who have two or more children attending "Solnyshko" are eligible to discounts. Anyone, who is struggling to pay school fees, is encouraged to talk to the school’s Committee, where arrangements could be considered. *** Given the momentum and public support Warrington Russian Language School has received during its temporary closure on 12th of March 2022, we work closely with Warrington Borough Council on two matters: 1. On preventing bullying of kids with links to Russia or Russian language at this difficult time. 2. Working together helping Ukrainian refugees to quickly and successfully integrate into the community by providing translation/interpreting, advice and free lessons in our language school (English, Russian and Ukrainian), as well as access to art/painting, craft, music band, football and other activities in Russian language (as you know, most people in Ukraine can speak Russian language). We have a small database of local people (as well as our own teachers) willing to give their free time to teach various subjects and translate as necessary for the Ukrainian refugees. We also work closely with the community and can propose and host "tea and advice" meet up events in various locations. The temporary closure of our classes on 12th of March was very tough for everyone at Russian Language School "Solnyshko" (parents, pupils, teachers). We were so glad, however, to receive such overwhelming support from local community and happy it's behind us now. We look forward to even closer links to the wider community, St Wilfrids Primary School and Warrington Borough Council.

ICIF - Italian Culinary Institute

icif - italian culinary institute

ICIF, a prestigious Italian cooking and enology school, has its headquarters in the Castle of Costigliole d'Asti, a town located among the most beautiful hills of Monferrato, at the gates of the Langhe, in a land with a strong agricultural vocation, famous for the production of Barbera and Moscato wines. The town is dominated by the imposing forms of the Castle, one of the grandest and best preserved in the province of Asti, of medieval origin, it was restructured over the centuries, and passed from hand to hand of various owners until it arrived in 1854, married by Francesco Verasis, Virginia Oldoini, Countess of Castiglione, whose legend is still part of the Castle walls today. In fact, it is said that, considering her resourcefulness and her charm, in 1855 her cousin Cavour sent her on a mission to the French court of Napoleon III to plead the Franco-Piedmontese alliance with the emperor. The countess' great social and seductive presence gave the expected results: she was luxuriously hosted in Compiègne, very worldly, very expensive, the countess was for a year the almost official lover of the emperor. On the west side of the Castle, owned by the municipality, there is a large portal which can be accessed via a double flight of stairs: this is the entrance to our Institute, the Professional School of Italian Cuisine where, from 1997 to today, among those same walls, young cooks from all over the world take turns learning the secrets of Italian food and wine. The classrooms and laboratories for training activities in the Castle: Tasting room and Enoteca Inside the School, in the historic cellars of the Castle, the Enoteca has been set up, where the best Italian producers exhibit their products. The ICIF National Enoteca is among the most advanced structures in Italy for deepening the knowledge of Italian wines. Inside the Enoteca there is a very modern tasting room with a futuristic design, which we have equipped with 20 multifunctional tasting stations which can be used not only for wines, but also for the sensory analysis of other products, such as oil, vinegars, coffee, etc. Elaiotheque Inside the Scuola, in the historic cellars of the Castle, the Elaiotheque has been set up, where a selection of Italian extra virgin olive oils is displayed. The ICIF National Elaioteca brings together experts and enthusiasts of the mythical product, it is the first and for now the only initiative in the olive sector that offers an objective review of certified quality Italian extra virgin olive oils whose profile and whose gastronomic applications have been ascertained by an international panel of tasters recognized by the International Olive Council. We have selected exclusively products of Italian origin guaranteed by IGP, DOP, organic farming and product quality certifications. The ICIF National Elaioteca represents an important and unique tool for the valorisation of the best Italian extra virgin olive oils and for their in-depth knowledge aimed at the best culinary applications. Restaurant It is a refined and exclusive environment, adjacent to the main kitchen, it is used for training relating to room service, for events, official lunches and for the final essays of some training courses in which the students prepare a complete menu for guests and authorities at demonstration of their learning. Chocolate laboratory A new didactic space, set up with all the equipment to learn the art of combining and treating the different varieties of cocoa and ingredients to create the delicious flavor of a quality chocolate, guided by the Master Chocolatiers to discover their secrets. Grotto of cheeses An exhibition space from other times recreated as the "crutin" of our elders, to enhance the great variety and quality of Italian cheeses and not forget the importance of the history and tradition of a millenary culture now exported and appreciated all over the world. Salami grotto An exhibition space to enhance the types and varieties of Italian cured meats, an added value to the use and training, production methods and nutritional hints for a measured consumption of the same in compliance with a balanced Mediterranean diet without eliminating the pleasure of an appetizer mix of Italian cold cuts. Boutique of food and wine excellences of the regions of Italy A space dedicated to the display and enhancement of regional products of excellence in Italy, selected by ICIF in view of the continuous collaboration and mutual esteem and trust that Italian food and wine product companies place in the Institute.
