STAA is a small charity based at the historic St Anns Allotments site, just a mile from the bustling city centre of Nottingham. STAA manages a number of highly regarded projects across 30+ plots at St Anns Allotments providing community benefit & offering a wide variety of volunteering opportunities. Our projects make a significant contribution to the upkeep of this amazing Grade 2* listed heritage site and the preservation of habitat and wildlife in the urban oasis at St Anns Allotments. STAA was initially established in 1997, from a local campaign group that came together with the prime objective of saving and protecting the St Anns Allotment site (Hungerhill Gardens, Stonepit Coppice Gardens and Gorseyclose Gardens) from redevelopment. STAA became a registered charity in 1998 and over the course of 20 years have been key partners in the delivery of large-scale infrastructure and Heritage Lottery Fund projects which have contributed to the restoration and regeneration of St Anns Allotments. Our research projects have also captured much of the St Anns Allotments’ unique history. STAA managed the allotment site and tenancies until December 2017 through a service level agreement with Hungerhill Developments Ltd. The site is now managed directly by HDL. In July 2020, STAA converted to a Foundation CIO* and continues its commitment to protecting, preserving and promoting the heritage, horticultural, wildlife and community value of St Anns Allotments. STAA works inside and outside the site gates with local schools, community groups and partner organisations to promote the heritage of the site, provide education and volunteering opportunities along with social welfare, recreational and leisure activities to improve the wellbeing of our wider communities in St Ann’s, Mapperley and inner-city Nottingham. Toni Jarvis is a qualified Project Manager with 30 years of business expertise. Along with fellow directors John Newton, Niall O'Hagan, Marielle Newton & Pat Burgess we run Tiger Community Enterprise CIC. The community enterprise was set up to support enterprises and assist individuals and organisations to grow. Whilst we started with a focus on supporting local businesses and community organisations we have evolved to encompass the delivery of projects that support our core aims - to help people help themselves. We work in conjunction with partners to offer the widest range of options to the community to enhance their own skills and opportunities. Whether that be to build work skills to move down the career path, showcase talents and/or business, offer empowerment opportunities in the community to build confidence, communication, and contacts to avoid social isolation or to do our bit for the planet through our recycling project. We are an extended family-run business consisting of Myself, Andy, my fiance Lucy, our 2 wonderful children, Harry 8, Libby 5, and our 3 dogs, who are a great help with the socialising of the puppies, here at the Sheffield branch. Our Chorley branch is run by Lucy's sister, Laura, her husband, Tom and their 2 children who are 10 and 7 along with their own dog. How did Puppy Steps come about? I've been involved with animals all my life and have worked with dogs of all types in breeding, owning, and training many different breeds. From high drive German Shepherds for security and family protection through to laid back, large, golden retrievers and tiny terriers for family pets. Over the past 20 years, I have built up a wealth of knowledge and experience across a wide range of breeds which has allowed us to achieve the levels of training we do in such a short space of time. Back in 2017, we bred a litter of Sproddles from our Springer spaniel and local health-tested poodle stud. We had a fantastic litter with some going to friends and family. We decided to keep a couple of the puppies back to give them a foundation of basic training before making them available to the public. From this litter, the feedback and recommendations we received we were asked to find and train other puppies. Through word of mouth over the last 5 years we now have 2 branches which each train 2 or 3 puppies per month. With puppies going not only all over the UK and Europe but as far as the Caribbean. What do we do? We offer a range of services from one-to-one puppy training sessions, right through to finding and training a puppy ready for its new family. All of our puppies live in the family home with our dogs and children as part of the family, learning valuable socialisation skills at this key stage of their development. With our exclusive in-house training, we only have a few puppies at each branch to ensure we can give maximum time and attention to each puppy and achieve the standards we strive for. We currently have branches located in Sheffield, in South Yorkshire, and Chorley, in Lancashire. We crate train and house train the puppies during their stay with us. We also teach manners and basic obedience of sit, wait, recall, and lead walking. We ensure puppies are fully up to date with worming and vaccinations before leaving for their new home. The end result is a well-balanced and happy dog that you can enjoy from the very beginning.

Ideally situated in the old village of Mosborough is where you will discover Lamb Setts Baby Nursery, Montessori Pre-School & School and Out of School Kids Club. In keeping with village tradition, Lamb Setts takes it’s name from both the ‘Lamb Sacs’ village green opposite, which was used years ago by local farmers to dip sheep, and ‘Setts’ which is the old fashioned term for ‘stepping stones’. Lamb Setts has beautiful gardens which overlook the Moss Valley Countryside. The well-known Moss Valley Trail draws many people to this beautiful area. Lamb Setts is a wonderful country setting for children to explore and enjoy. Lamb Setts offers care and education for children between the ages of three months and twelve years. Children can start in the Baby Nursery from the age of three months, progress to the Pre-School at the age of two and the Montessori School unit at three. When children move on to primary school, they can enjoy the facilities offered by the Out of School Kids Club. The wide range of facilities gives children and families the security and benefits of continuity of care.
