the eden trust

Eden’s Trust (registered charity No. 1136092) was set up by Elli Galvani after her daughter, Eden Galvani-Skeete, was tragically killed at a five star resort in Turkey in 2006 when an entertainment stunt went wrong. As the evening got underway, a wall of fire was lit but when a waiter tried to light a second line of fire, the bottle of flammable liquid he was holding caught alight and exploded, sending fireballs into the audience. Eden took the brunt of the explosion and was on fire from head to toe, suffering 70% burns. Two days later on 31 July 2006, after suffering two heart attacks and kidney failure, Eden died. She was just six years old. As Elli tried to come to terms with Eden’s death, she became painfully aware of a gap in specialised counselling so decided to set up support/survival groups and workshops especially for people who have lost a child. The groups, launched in May 2013, are FREE to attend thanks to special funding sourced by Elli. More information can be found on our Support Groups page. We also support bereaved children in a school setting and offer  training courses to school staff on bereavement counselling and benefits of early intervention.'

The Annexe is a recently-refurbished (2010) local Community & Resource Centre run by the Wharton Trust in the Dyke House area of Hartlepool. Dyke House is within the top 2% of deprived wards in the UK and, as such, experiences high levels of unemployment, low levels educational attainment and aspiration, high levels of health inequalities and extreme levels of deprivation. The centre, throughout its 21-year-history, has supported the people who live in this community and surrounding areas in a variety of ways over the years. Madina Education Trust is a community based Islamic institute in Wednesbury. A masjid which is easily found just off Junction 9 of the M6 The masjids purpose was not only for daily Salah but for providing services for the local and national Muslim Community which is growing rapidly. These services include: 5 daily salah, Jummah, Eid salah, Supplementary Islamic school, Nikah, Funerals, Community fund raising, Charity events, Male and female only programmes.

The Sapientia Education Trust (SET) was established in 2016 with the purpose of bringing like-minded schools together to work in partnership to deliver a world class education to pupils in Norfolk and Suffolk. The term Sapientia comes from the motto of the founding school, Wymondham College, and means wisdom. Our work is cross-phase and involves a strong commitment to staff development and on-going training for all staff in our schools. We believe that collaboration and partnership work helps raise standards and we work with a range of schools within and beyond our Trust. SET currently consists of 7 secondary schools and 10 primary schools, educating 5,500 pupils. We range in size from the largest state boarding school in the UK, to several very small, rural schools. We share a common belief that high quality education is broad ranging and embraces strong extra-curricular provision and an expectation that all pupils can and should achieve. As a Trust our school improvement record is very strong. In Summer 2019 three of our secondary schools secured progress outcomes at GCSE that were "above average" and Wymondham College Sixth Form outcomes were also "above average". Our primary schools continue to improve and include 3 schools where KS2 outcomes were significantly above national average. We look forward to maintaining our record as a high performing Trust.
