Working as a Beauty Therapist since leaving school and running a salon of her own, Christine has years of experience in the Beauty industry. Whilst training and managing her staff she realised that she had a passion to train others and raise the standards of training, so she decided to complete her PGCE, and moved on to work as an assessor in college. She did this for 13 years before leaving the college to teach in a private academy (where she worked with Tracy). Here she led the training in various brow and SPMU treatments. As the Head tutor here at The Beauty Hub, Christine teaches the majority of our courses. With her vast experience and knowledge you know you are in safe hands! Azadi Trust was founded in 1991 by Dr. Robin Fisher, a GP working in Sparkbrook, Birmingham, as a Christian outreach to the large number of drug users in the area. From these early beginnings Azadi has followed the vision that ‘Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is Freedom’ (2 Cor 3:17) which remains our ‘strapline’ to this day, some thirty years on. The surgery and the drugs work had closed by the mid-1990’s, but the Charity remained and in 1997, with the support of the local Anglican church, Christ Church, purchased the old surgery building. This building is now known as Azadi House. In the early days, the ground floor of Azadi House was the base for activities such as a youth club and a homework club, mainly run by Christ Church members but designed to be accessible to the local community; subsequently the Trust supported projects, such as ‘Bright Sparks’ mother and toddler group and ‘Azadi Tigers’ football team, which operated away from its base. On the basis of these early experiences we don’t seek to ‘set up projects’ but rather to ‘follow what God is doing’ and actively support Christians in the inner-city who want to set up or who are already actively running projects, people who have a vision (and warmth and enthusiasm) to reach others with the love of God but do not want the distraction of establishing a structure to accommodate their vision and who would rather just ‘get on with the job’. Hope Garden Project, who have been part of Azadi for over 10 years, are an example of this.

Naftali brings more than 26 years’ experience in project and organisational management in the UK and overseas. He has a BSc Honours degree and is a former teacher and qualified trainer. He has served as a Director at Tolerance International UK, ACORD UK, Motivation Charitable Trust UK; Programme Manager at Netherlands Foreign Service and ETC East Africa Consultants BV; etc. He has extensive experience with youth, intergenerational and inter-cultural work and training both in the UK and in Eastern Africa. James Musau Nzala James Nzala is the Let Us Connect Programme Co-ordinator in Kenya. He has a BSc IT degree and is qualified in advanced web design (PHP, MySQL database, CSS & JavaScript coding), software and hardware trouble shooting and repair, IT-user training, and network building and management. Ben Ferguson Ben was one of the first to pioneer gap year experiences in Kenya with Mend the Gap. My name is Annette Barrett and I run Cook Stars Cardiff North & West. Having taken early retirement, I am now ready for the new challenge of promoting the importance and love of cooking in the wider community and decided to join Cook Stars in order to further this goal. I just loved the name 'Cook Stars'. Cooking allows every child the opportunity to shine in their own unique way and I'm so excited to be running children's cooking classes. I instantly knew I needed to be involved in this business in order to create an abundance of 'stars' armed with essential life skills. Learning to cook is such an important life skill but unfortunately over the years less and less time has been given to this subject in the school curriculum and many children have not been able to experience what they should have. Cooking has never been more important than it is now with increased obesity rates, diabetes and other food related disorders. I am so excited to be able to contribute to improving a person's health and well-being through cooking. I am married with two children, both in their twenties. They have been away at university but still want to come home for some 'proper food'!! In my spare time I like to follow sport and I am a Cardiff City Season ticket holder. I also swim regularly and recently swam the length of the English Channel for charity. Holidaying somewhere hot is also a must!

UBUC was established during the 1960/61 academic year. Considering that scuba gear was invented in 1943 by Jacques Cousteau, much has changed in 50 years! The club ranges from new trainees to seasoned divers whose expertise is vital to the smooth running of UBUC. One of our main goals is to provide affordable scuba diving training. Every year we train around 30 divers and provide a number of internationally recognised qualifications from beginner to advanced diver levels. We are affiliated to the British Sub-Aqua Club (BSAC), and therefore issue qualifications according to BSAC standards. Over the last few years, we have gained a number of BSAC awards recognising our achievements in training. The club is overseen by 10 committee members. However, being such an active club means we rely on help from everyone to organise trips, help with equipment maintenance and assist with training. We especially encourage aspiring Dive Leaders to organise their own trips. We are also a friendly and sociable bunch! Our dedicated Social Secretaries runs most of our social events, including diving talks, boat pub crawls, trips, and much more! Anyone, however, can organise an event. BSAC Affiliation UBUC is a branch of the British Sub-Aqua Club. We are branch number 9160. Scuba Diving Training We offer extensive training for SCUBA diving, anywhere from beginner to advanced diver levels. We teach using the standards of our diving agency BSAC. I formed Keepabeat in 2007. My name is Sam Mackay and I’m a fully qualified Lifeguard and First Aid Trainer. I had a passion for teaching first aid and worked for several training companies on a freelance basis. I trained delegates from a wide range of backgrounds, including blue chip companies like House of Fraser, Sainsbury’s and Starbucks, but also local Childminders and Nannies. I developed as a trainer and realised that this was so much more than just a “job”. After having my daughter Ruby in 2012 my focus changed a little, however, it was very fortunate that I had learnt all those basic life saving skills, as Ruby certainly tested my knowledge! Realising that many Parents wouldn’t know what to do, or how to deal with a First Aid emergency, made me determined to pass on that knowledge. So, a new passion was born and teaching Parents, Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, Babysitters, Childminders and Nannies basic first aid was my new mission. Working from a laptop in the front room and a car loaded with manikins, I worked hard to spread the KeepaBeat message, delivering Parent sessions and First Aid at work courses all over the UK. It soon became clear that I couldn’t do it alone! Anna trained at the Deborah Capon College, and was also heavily influenced by her time training and working in America. She was represented by Terpsichore Entertainment in New York and worked within theatre and television. Following this she became the company's UK talent representative, responsible for identifying and guiding talented artists seeking legal employment and representation in the USA. Anna went on to train as a teacher, running her own school, the Hasland Dance Studios, for 6 years, achieving her Licentiate and Fellowship qualifications with the ISTD, and becoming a mutually recognised teacher with the Royal Academy of Dance. In 2015 she became an Approved Tutor for the ISTD and created Anna Morgan Dance, offering bespoke teacher training for the Diploma in Dance Education qualification. Anna spent a number of years on the Ballet faculty at Performers College before joining Bird College as a Ballet Tutor in 2016, and is also the staff representative to the Board of Directors at Bird College. In 2021 Anna joined the teacher training faculty of the Royal Ballet School to deliver their 'Inspire' teacher training seminars in the UK and internationally. Anna is also an adjudicator for the British and International Federation of Festivals, and is on the Advisory Board for the TIRED Movement (Trying to Improve Racial Equality in Dance) Before the pandemic Anna pursued teaching and choreography throughout the UK and America, including choreographing two original works for Bailar Al Sol in New Jersey. Alongside American Company 'United We Dance' Anna is currently involved in pre-production of an original Contemporary Ballet to be performed by a brand new, international company once travel restrictions permanently ease.
