There really is such a thing as climate change. Scientific evidence suggests that the earth is hotter than it used to be and that the temperature will continue to rise if we don't act now to stop it. Living Earth Community is at the forefront of informing the public about this subject. Our goal is to establish a stewardship footprint that promotes environmental awareness to combat climate change. We create environmental awareness through global outreach and social media such as YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook. GENERATIONAL AWARENESS Additionally, our climate change group customizes efforts for different generations, because where you are in life dictates how you act. Our goal isn't to just inform, but to create a series of steps that people can take to make the change. We want you to feel comfortable coming to us for information because you know we will convey the truth. If we don't have the information you need, we'll help you find it and provide links to it. LEARN AND ACT Everything we do is focused on building the Living Earth Community and creating awareness for everyone's footprint. For example, we help you understand why a $2.25 plastic bottle of water will cost over $125.00 by the time it's picked up and recycled. Additionally, stay tuned for a video series on bees that chronicles the research being done on them and how we need to provide sanctuaries for bees.

In our pursuit of less, we will always contribute more thought, more experimentation and investigation , more work and reflection to find the essence in each new piece of work. That’s just what we do, and what we like to do. Process Process can’t always be a set structure and each scenario demands a tailored approach. There are a number of place markers that govern our way of doing things. Over 40 years of experiences has developed a process which is as part structure, part instinct and experience. For example our work might starts with a research based initial response, followed by development to agreed criteria and then production of an output and its story.

Over the past two decades the technology needed to make fusion energy a viable power source has advanced at pace and we now have a the opportunity to move fusion from the science lab into the real world. Here at Bay Fusion we believe that the north west of England, and in particular Morecambe Bay area, is particularly well suited to the development and industrialisation of fusion energy technology. Previously we submitted a location in Heysham to UKAEA as part of its STEP site finding programme. Whilst we were unsuccessful in reaching the final 5 shortlisted sites, we are now focussing on supporting regional supply chains, research and outreach to help promote and advocate fusion opportunities for the region

I am passionate about resilience and helping people understand how important resilience is in our lives. I studied with some of the leading international experts working to promote resilience. For the last 5 years I have been actively promoting resilience with individuals, families, organisations and communities. I had spent many years working in the field of positive psychology and therapy and it was here in Barcelona that I discovered the world of resilience and was lucky enough to attend the first post graduate course in the Promotion of Resilience at the University of Barcelona. This allowed me to meet and learn from leading figures in Resilience work in Europe and Latin America and the most generous teachers. I also studied a postgraduate diploma in mental health and migration. Moving around can bring opportunity but also challenges. I have lived in many countries and met a lot of diverse and truly inspiring people in different cultures and languages. Living an international life can feel like an amazing adventure but also comes with its challenges and I have worked with many individuals and families over the years helping them to find their feet again. Life experience, literature, music and films have always fed my resilience work but I have been studying and researching along the way to back up my instincts with analysis and ideas based on theory and practice. I have always been a “water baby” and had my first taste of scuba diving in August 2001 in Cancun, Mexico and realized I had a new passion in life and in October 2006 I became a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor – I was delighted and I have been teaching scuba diving & first aid full time ever since, and now to be able to say that I am a RAID Instructor Trainer, is something that I am very proud of as it something that I have worked very hard for. I have been lucky enough to have worked and dived in some amazing locations around the world including the Red Sea, the Mediterranean, the Maldives, the Philippines and of course stacks of UK diving experience, along with this I have managed dive centres in Turkey, UK and the Philippines where I was lucky enough to research the amazing Thresher Shark but possibly my favourite place to dive has to be Scapa Flow in Orkney, Scotland. I can offer scuba diving training from beginner lesson, all recreational levels and specialty courses, Divemaster, Instructor, Technical and Rebreather courses. I am also a Marine Mammal Medic with British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR) and we help to rescue sick or injured marine life, mainly seals but also whales and dolphins to, the UK coastline really does have an amazing variety of life to see. And, yes, that really is me in the Kirby Morgan !

Jon Kabat Zinn, one of the top mindfulness leaders and unarguably the father of the art defines it as, “Paying attention; on purpose, in the present moment, and non-judgementally.” Mindfulness is an art that enables a human to be fully present in the current moment and be aware of where he/she is and what they are doing without getting overwhelmed or being too reactive to the surroundings. Simply put, it is the art of being in the moment, in the here and now. The key idea of mindfulness is to be completely attentive to the present and focus on the specific ongoing things. If you are thinking about how it applies to our lives, let’s take an example. We all have driven the car somewhere and arrived at a specific destination without any memory of the entire journey. Such an act is the opposite of mindfulness where we slip into the so-called ‘autopilot’ mode. According to research, 47% of average individuals slip into this autopilot mode all the time. This is why we must mind our present time instead of being in a dreamlike state. In a way, being mindful is taking control of the steering wheel and be aware of your thoughts, feelings, sensations, and the surroundings all the time. Most importantly, mindfulness is an awakened state of mind that is non-judgmental and impartial towards everything you sense and feel.

About CVU The Council of Validating Universities is the only body in the UK specialising exclusively in good practice and standards for that aspect of higher education which concerns the validation of programmes of study by universities and colleges (‘awarding institutions’) for delivery by other colleges or organisations (‘partner institutions’). The term ‘collaborative provision’ is often used to describe this form of partnership. Foundation and Remit The CVU was formed in 1982 and registered as a charity in 1996. It became incorporated as a Company Limited by Guarantee on 28th October 2004 (Company Number: 05272761). It is a non-statutory body comprising representatives from higher education institutions and other related organisations in the United Kingdom. Objectives: To advance education, including training and research, in particular by: keeping under review the concerns of degree-awarding institutions within the United Kingdom in relation to collaborative activity identifying and promoting good practice in collaborative validation. The CVU defines ‘collaborative provision’ as the process whereby a degree-awarding body judges one or more programmes of study, courses, or modules offered by another body to be appropriate to lead to a qualification and/or credit of that degree awarding body. The programmes of study may be designed and developed by either the degree-awarding body or the the other body or a partnership of the two. Collaborative validation therefore embraces the accreditation of institutions, the franchising of courses and other forms of academic association.

The workplace is changing, and the role that midlife women play in the workplace is changing with it. With women over 50 currently shown to be the fastest growing sector of the workforce, it is inevitable that your organisation will likely have employees working through their menopause transition. Why does this matter? Because the physical and emotional changes that can affect some women as they transition through menopause can create temporary difficulties which may have an impact on performance. Research has shown that as many as 25% of women have considered resigning as a result of a lack of support from their employer. With an estimated cost of £30-35K to recruit a vacant post, not to mention the loss of intellectual capital, it makes sense for employers to actively support their staff through this natural life stage. And it’s not just women either! We need to consider those who don’t identify as cis women but who also may experience the impact of hormonal changes through menopause, that’s basically anyone who has menstruated at any time in their life including trans men and non-binary employees. And let’s not forget the number of people who experience an early menopause due to surgical or medical intervention, they need support too.
