The mission of the Countryside Learning is a simple one. It is to educate, inform and inspire children, parents and teachers, so that they can enjoy and appreciate the countryside while having a greater understanding of the wide range of issues surrounding it. We are a national registered charity (327091) formed in 1986. Countryside Learning is focused on providing a variety of educational opportunities designed to connect children with the countryside in a fun and practical way. We hope to nuture a lifelong interest in loving, respecting and learning about the environment. Research shows that learning in the outdoors can bring massive benefits to a child’s confidence, understanding and engagement, together with benefits to their mental and physical wellbeing. We collaborate with several organisations, that seek to promote outdoor learning. Our Countryside Live events provide an opportunity for organisations to come together to engage children with food, farming and natural environment activities. We are member of the Countryside Classroom consortium and are able to exchange knowledge and expertise with other members. The CC website is a great source for resources for our teachers to use back at school. We reach up to 20,000 children per year with our programme of events and the members of our Farms for Schools programme reach a further 300,000 children. . Our events range from visits for a single class right up to an event that caters for up to 4,000 inner city children, when we bring the countryside to them.

Our approach is simple. We bridge the gap between yoga and sport and empower yoga professionals to confidently teach sports-specific yoga to athletes of all ages and abilities, as well as to the general public. We consider everyone to be an athlete, from elite professionals to Mum’s homeschooling their children, to healthcare workers dealing with stressful situations on the front line. Teaching Grounded in Yoga Biomechanics We help prepare our students to work with people of any age and ability through our functional and biomechanical approach to applying yoga. The foundation of our yoga teaching is based on biomechanical principles aimed at empowering yoga professionals to adapt and apply to any setting. Yoga sequencing becomes creative and experimental when a solid working knowledge of anatomy and biomechanics is applied. We Prove Yoga Works For over a decade students that have trained with us, as Advanced Yoga Sports Coaches™ have undertaken a Case Study Research project and contributed to providing evidence that yoga positively improves athletic performance and supports athletes as an injury prevention program. Each YSS Case Study submitted by our students is archived within our YSS Research Index. We have one of the largest research databases in the world on the efficacy of yoga in sport. We Have Exposed the Missing Link in Athletic Training We use a proven, scientifically based methodology, developed over twenty years, to bridge the gap between yoga and sport. Where our yoga training differs from traditional forms of yoga is that we deliver a modern-day scientific approach to yoga, which is evidence-based and understands the sporting demands of the modern athlete. Our Motto: Less is More The art and the science of successfully delivering sports-specific yoga to the general public and/or athletes involve delivering less so they will receive more. Most athletes have to manage grueling training schedules and often are overtrained. This, along with the general pressures of life can mean most don’t get to ‘experience’ a training session. One of the benefits of delivering our methods is that you will provide an entirely different training experience for the athlete, creating time and space which enables them to develop a greater awareness of Self as well as time to recover and restore. Learn With Us Online For the past decade, we have been successfully teaching our yoga Courses online to students around the world. Our Courses are inclusive and accessible to all types of learners through our well established online learning platform. Our students are supported online by members of our Academic Faculty, through regular 1-2-1 tutorials, Live group sessions with peers and tutors, plus a vibrant global community of like-minded people with a shared passion for learning and teaching. The Institute of Yoga Sports Science® is a registered school with the Yoga Alliance and provides In-Service Training Days and short Courses to the British Wheel of Yoga. The main goal of our Educational Centre is to give children the knowledge that they have every right to acquire. The Russian language has the potential to greatly help in future careers and to open doors. This is an investment in the child’s future, on a par with private school tuition and tutoring for 11+ years. In the Russian Educational Centre “Tsarskoe Selo”, you will find: Professional tutoring of children in Russian language and literature Development of knowledge about Russian culture and history, Russian classics of literature, painting, music Awakening and maintaining interest in each child in learning Russian Our Classes Previous Next Preschool education Children from 2 to 3.5 years old In the lesson, children expand their horizons and increase vocabulary in a playful way. Special attention at the lesson is paid to the development of speech of babies, fine motor skills, coordination of movement. Children sculpt from plasticine, draw, glue, sing and dance. Middle group Children 4-5 years old The training program includes: – speech development; basics of correct speech, expansion of vocabulary, basic knowledge of sounds, syllables and sentences. Retelling of simple texts. – acquaintance with fiction (reading fairy tales and stories, names of the authors) – acquaintance with elementary mathematical concepts – drawing, dancing Secondary school From the age of 7, children attend secondary school. In the classroom, children begin to work with textbooks, get acquainted with classical works of Russian and foreign literature, analyze texts, acquire research skills, and develop the ability to think critically. The program includes lessons of Culture, where children are introduced to the cultural achievements of different eras, countries and peoples. Online Lessons Previous Next During the COVID-19 pandemic, our Centre switched to online learning mode to continue delivering educational content to our students. We continue to offer online lessons to senior students and ad hoc online sessions to all age groups if required. Our Teachers All teachers of our Centre are Russian-speaking high-class professionals with extensive experience in educational institutions in the UK (over 10 years). We are very attentive to the selection of the teaching staff. Our team consists of excellent specialists specialising in pre-school education, proficient in the “Russian as a foreign language” method for bi-linguals, certified tutors in preparation for the delivery of GSCE and A-levels (Russian, mathematics). I am a registered and qualified Art Therapist/Art Psychotherapist; I got my undergraduate degree in Art & Social Context from Dartington College of Arts in 1992 and my Art Therapy Post-Graduate Diploma (MA equivalence) from the University of Herts, UK in 1994. I am a Kadampa Buddhist, a buddhist gilder & statue artist, a meditator, a sensitive to the energies of nature, animals, spirituality and an advocate for women’s and oppressed beings rights in a patriarchal world.
