2econd Chance C.I.C. is a computer recycling not-for-profit committed to reducing e-Waste and a training provider for people furthest away from the job market. Alongside providing professional computer recycling services, including free computer collection and secure data destruction, we also deliver free accredited training programmes for people not in employment, education or training. What we do Working under supervision and as part of a team, our trainees learn how to refurbish donated machines which are then sold at affordable prices, to fund the program. As an organisation we are committed to bridging the digital divide in our area so a percentage of our refurbished computers are donated through our community partners to ensure they reach people in need. Why support us By donating your unwanted machines, not only will you be stopping them from going to landfill but you will be providing meaningful training and employment opportunities for people with learning difficulties and SEMH (social, emotional, and mental health) needs. What we need Working desktops, laptops and tablets up to 8 years old. We don’t collect WEEE waste as everything is reusable. If “WEEE” is to be re-used, then it never becomes a waste and can be classified as used electrical and electronic equipment (UEEE). Therefore, UK waste laws do not apply. Secure Data Destruction Data destruction takes place at our secured London premises. We issue certification giving you complete peace of mind that your data has been irretrievably erased.

It brings together research scientists and industry partners on projects with commercial potential that will reduce battery cost, weight, and volume; improve performance and reliability, and develop whole-life strategies including recycling and reuse. It designs and manages focused, substantial and impactful research projects in areas of fundamental science and engineering that have commercial relevance and potential. Its research programme is defined by industry need and delivered by a consortia of 27 UK universities and 50 businesses - including 500 researchers. Technical targets include reducing battery cost, weight, and volume; improving performance and reliability; and developing whole-life strategies including recycling and reuse. As an independent organisation, the Faraday Institution regularly publishes evidence-based assessments of the market, economics, commercial potential and capabilities for energy storage technologies and the transition to a fully electric UK. Through a range of training programmes for undergraduate, PhD and early-career researchers, the organisation develops the next generation of battery scientists and engineers. K2 Academy of Contemporary Jewellery is the ideal place for those who want to develop their jewellery design and making skills, whilst stepping outside of mainstream boundaries and thinking critically about the creative process. Our students learn new skills and traditional jewellery techniques whilst experimenting with a variety of different materials, including base and precious metals, gemstones as well as unconventional recycling materials and found objects. In addition, we introduce them to the professional jewellery industry by teaching business skills. Classes are taught in small groups of no more than 10 students, enabling you to spend quality time with your tutors. K2 offers a comprehensive programme of all-level jewellery courses, creative short courses, masterclasses and SQA accredited diploma courses   DEDICATED TUTORS DELIVERING QUALITY TRAINING. K2 Academy was established and is directed by jewellery artists and tutors Kelvin J Birk and Katrin Spranger, both of whom have 20+ years of experience in goldsmithing, metal work and tutoring.
