tuition club

Our aim is to provide assistance in subjects which a parent may find difficult to teach by themselves. We can do this by supplementing their work with a structured framework, regular lessons, worksheets and notes. We do this by holding a set of lessons during the daytime (home schooling hours), in which the children can join other home schooled children to cover those subjects their parents choose. We are based in Manchester, but we hope that our service will benefit parents and their children across the North West of England and beyond.

wanting to learn how to create shoes entirely by hand led me to pestering the local clog maker to take me on as his Saturday girl, after a couple of years I got a place at cordwainers college, then part of central and st martins. when I finished my degree, I went straight into an apprenticeship in the west end of london. I was very lucky as apprenticeships were and still are, very few and far between. for 12 years, I worked exclusively for boot and shoe companies, including john lobb, cleverly and jason amesbury, in the west end and mayfair. a chance conversation led to a residency at the royal armories in leeds where I spent two years working with the in-house leather worker to produce 30 pairs of jack boots for the household cavalry. while I was there I began to think about producing a collection of leather goods under my own name. I was encouraged when my first show sold out completely. I have worked hard to build on that success becoming more creative with styling and inventive with detail as the collection has grown. I am currently working on a series of collaborations with an intriguing range of clients: flame oz are an international troupe of fire performers who are looking at ways of incorporating fire resistant leather into their incredible theatre shows. drawn surface have worked on set designs in film and television and are currently producing a range of leather and hand printed canvas homewares with me. I am working with milliner Good Golly Miss Molly to create a range of stunning gents headwear for various celebrities. new projects on the horizon include a range of luxurious aprons and gentlemen's grooming products, and more recently, I have been commissioned to produce body-worn amp covers for a local music project.

paradise works

Established in 2017, Paradise Works is an artist-led studio community of 38 contemporary visual artists, a project space and gallery in Salford. We host a critically engaged programme of exhibitions and film screenings, showcasing works from new and established artists working nationally & internationally. Paradise Works is host to Division of Labour gallery Salford, and our annual open studios, public projects, residency programme and graduate awards support artists to share their work with people who live, work, or visit the city.

Founded in 2016, Breakdown Bolton is a community interest company which is peer led by qualified and experienced artists who have had experience of mental health issues. We work in many different art forms and aim to offer our participants high quality arts classes, exhibition, and cultural opportunities. We do this by promoting high level creativity, individual expression, and empowerment through art, in a safe and positive environment for those across the Greater Manchester region. At Breakdown Bolton we focus on increasing accessibility to art for those with lived experience of mental health and substance misuse issues. We are passionate about breaking down the barriers, stigma and prejudice and raising awareness of these issues. Breakdown Bolton can provide a stepping stone towards further artistic development for a person whose education, employment, and creative practices have been interrupted by poor mental health or substance misuse issues. At Breakdown Bolton we have a diverse range of skills within the team which we use to develop and deliver projects of the highest quality. We are professional artists educated at University level, having had visual artwork and writing published and commissioned. Our members have been awarded both individual and collective grants from bodies such as the Arts Council and are Unltd Alumni. In 2017, Breakdown Bolton was nominated for a National Diversity Award. Since then, we have been recipients of a New Art Space through Castlefield Gallery, worked closely with NeoArtists in Bolton, and have forged strong working partnerships with regional arts education organisations such as theatres, galleries, and local community services.

Founded in 2012 by artists Beverley Chapelhow and Keith Parkinson. Beverley is now sole proprietor of Atelier Arts. The art gallery and studios are situated comfortably in the centre of Clitheroe.Atelier Arts was originally set up by Beverley and Keith, they studied for their fine art degrees in Blackburn graduating in 2008. Both looking to explore their passion for creativity by relaxing and enjoying working on their practice in a studio environment. More recently Keith has stepped away from Atelier Arts leaving Beverley to continue the good work they both set up. Atelier Arts, is now a dynamic creative corner in the centre of Clitheroe. Atelier Arts principles are to inspire and to be inspired, to build a community of artists and to promote Art in the Ribble Valley.

After leaving art college with a diploma in Art and Design, I left the world of art and spent the next 20 years working in marketing and account management, and bringing up my son. I didn't have much time to dedicate to my love of art, but now my son is much older, so I have more time on my hands to create the art that I love. I started out painting flowers and landscapes, which I shipped all over the UK and USA and a few even went to Australia! My love of animals has always been there, I've had horses and so many dogs and cats from being really young, so it was only natural that animals feature regularly in my art. My artwork has more recently turned towards painting dancers, landscapes, and the beach too. I love to paint in watercolour, in acrylics or in oils, and regularly create different collections in these different mediums. I set up Healds Green Gallery, named after the converted church that we currently live in, and run workshops from the gallery in Chadderton and also from locations in Cheshire too. We have classes starting in January in Tatton Park in Knutsford which is such a beautiful place to visit! We run watercolour and acrylic classes and sometimes branch out by getting other expert tutors in to provide glass craft and pottery workshops too. All of our classes are perfect for beginners or people who have always wanted to try painting but don't have the equipment, or never get round to it at home. Having had young children, it sometimes feels quite self-indulgent to spend time doing something that is just for you, but you deserve that time. I love every minute I spend drawing and painting, its time spent solely concentrating on just that, and not worrying about other things. My aim is to share my love of art to everyone and to make you all feel good enough to come along and try it out. You don't have to be the next Rembrandt, just come along and enjoy the time. I hope I can tempt you to want to try it out yourself and join us on one of our workshops!
