Hi, I'm David Southgate, a Sheffield Blacksmith My Blacksmithing journey began in early 2014, with a 3 day course in rural Lincolnshire. I was able to take on a forge at Abbeydale Industrial Hamlet, a museum in Sheffield. In late 2015 I embarked on the well respected "Design and Forgework Skills" course at the National School of Blacksmithing in Hereford. I passed with distinction in July 2017.
Happy Hare have been making and selling handmade craft items for around the last five years. We now have premises, so we are able to offer a range of fabrics, suitable for dressmaking and patchwork, and most of the other bits and pieces you will need to get you started on your projects.

My practice focuses on life drawing and centres around abstract representation of the human form. My fascination with the encounter between artist, subject, and medium, and how art spreads through the community has led me to curate life drawing classes that enable artists to focus and express themselves freely through their drawings.
