SET is a multifaceted arts and community organisation based in numerous centres across London. SET is home to an eclectic and experimental arts programme alongside affordable artist workspace. SET Projects & our Members Programme include performances, live music, exhibitions, talks, workshops and screenings, and seeks to provide a platform for new and collaborative projects. With an inclusive ethos always, SET is a community which aims to bridge gaps between disciplines, creating a platform for collaboration and multidisciplinary experimentation. SET’s charitable objectives are: ‘for the public benefit, to promote, improve and advance education in, and appreciation of, the arts.’ We fulfil this aim by financially and creatively supporting grassroots artistic production. Our mission is to nurture artists’ communities by offering affordable studios – the space, foundations and support to make bold, innovative and exciting new works. We support our Members in developing their practices by giving them access to project spaces, workshop areas, and inviting them to contribute to our Members’ Programme, a public arts programme led by our membership. SET is currently home to over 500 artists and has a membership of over 1000. SET hosts artists working in a variety of practices and disciplines from text, performance and installation to music, sound, print, textiles and more. SET currently has 6 centres in London. The SET New Cross project space is home to our main exhibition programme, whilst SET Dalston hosts our social space & bar and our performance space & music venue. Each SET centre is home to a variety of artists workspaces: from desk space to light industrial units. Each SET centre is hosted in otherwise vacant property, some temporary and some long term. Many people understand these benefits, but they struggle to access them on their own. By offering gong baths in a variety of settings including online, in workplaces, private residences, and other unique venues around London, we are bringing the effortless yet deeply impactful meditative experience to everyone curious enough to try something new.

Ali is the Program Leader 👨‍🏫 for the Creative Media Department at University College Kensington 🏫. During the day he leads & lectures for the undergraduate Computer Games Design 🎮 course. He has more than 15 years of experience and has worked on many different projects with many different companies such as Siemens, London Underground and Royal Air Force (RAF). In the eyes of his 12 year old nephew, he’s the coolest uncle in the world 😎, because he makes games! One day his nephew (who was 9 years old at the time) asked to learn games design. He was surprised 😮 to see how quickly his nephew learnt the same tools his adult students use. “You’re a lot more capable than I thought!” he said. He then taught the same techniques to his 8 years old niece who also learnt just as quick. This gave him the idea 💡 to set up Software Academy, so kids as young as 6 can start learning how to code 💻 and make 3D games. Saeed Saeed has Master’s degree 🎓 in Digital Media Design from the University of Edinburgh (👀 number 16 in world’s university ranking!🌎). During the day, he lectures 👨🏻‍🏫 on the games design course at West Herts College 🏫 and during the evening & weekends he teaches games design 🎮 here at Software Academy. Saeed enjoys sports 🏃🏻 & music 🎵. He’s described as a “awesome tutor” 👍 by our students who “makes learning fun”🤗!

I have been crocheting for years, I started with granny squares and made blankets, my passion and enthusiasm for crochet hasn’t lessened since I first learnt. Crocheting for me has now become my therapy! I run Crochet workshops to share the enjoyment of crochet with others. I run beginners and more advance workshops in Gloucester, Cheltenham, Tewkesbury & Evesham. Commissions and bespoke orders are my speciality, a picture or an idea can become a bespoke handmade item made for you!
