This enables staff to make sense of challenging situations and to develop child-centred plans to prevent, avert, de-escalate and more safely manage crisis. Such approaches promote and protect the human rights of both children and staff.

Hong Zhou obtained a bachelor's degree in Western Medicine (MBBS) and was granted two scholarships to complete a master's degree in Health Science (MSc) and postgraduate diploma in public health (MPH) in Finland, at King's College, London and Northumbria University. She also won an "International Student Prize" in Finland. Hong worked for the NHS Bowel Cancer Screening Centers (BCSC), including the largest BCSC in London. It offered bowel cancer screening to over one million residents in six boroughs to promote early diagnosis of bowel cancer thus to reduce its mortality. One of her key tasks was compiling evidence based training materials and delivering training to healthcare professionals, including pharmacists, Community Mental Health Teams, Community Drug and Alcohol Teams, targeted screening population, community and voluntary organisations and more.

Devon First Aid was founded in 1999 by Mrs Helen Smith. Helens professional history included time working as a Senior Nurse Advisor at NHS Direct a Resuscitation Nurse Trainer in Devon and latterly as a School Matron in a private school. David has worked with Helen for several years providing support in training and assessing groups until Helen handed over the reigns in the summer of 2017. David has had a rich career in Health Care. He started in the St John Ambulance aged 12, Joined the Army as a Combat Medical Technician at 16 and trained to work in Operating Theatres a few years later. In 1992 He qualified as a Registered General Nurse working children with disabilities, elderly care, prison health care, NHS Direct and going on to qualify and practice as Specialist Community Public Health Nurse. David began his training career as an Officer with the RAF Volunteer Reserve where he maintains his affiliation with the Combined cadet force to this day. Helen developed a training ethos of gentle, fun, educational and practice-based learning which David continues to deliver. Devon First Aid offers quality training that can help you and your staff deal with any first aid emergencies. Activate is a registered Charity which was founded in 2005. We deliver personalised educational and vocational programmes for young adults with learning difficulties and disabilities in both Knowsley and Wirral. We have recently been added to the Section 41 Secretary of State approved providers list. Our services include: Study programmes for 19-24 year olds which focus on vocational skills/independent living skills and are funded through the Education Funding Agency If you would like more information about our programmes please see our Admissions section. Important Notice! We are fully aware that this is, and will be, a challenging time for us all; we are indeed in unchartered territory. Advice from the Government and Public Health England is changing on a daily basis so we are just letting you know the situation as it stands at present, and changes that we’ve made at Activate. We will keep all parents fully updated of changes via either telephone calls, letters or the Activate Facebook page. As of Friday 27th March 2020: Easter holidays have been brought forward by a week.
