Our team have built up twenty years’ experience as training providers. Firstly, under the umbrella of Henry Boot Training, they were taken over by Pearson’s in Practice then latterly Learning World. Throughout this time we have continued to support our learners and this is why we are able to carry forward with the continued provision we have delivered over the last two decades. As a training provider we have continued to provide our service within Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Dunbartonshire and Renfrewshire working with Young People and Adults, Inspiring them to know that no career is off limits because of their gender, race or background. we aim to help disadvantaged people to gain practical training to assist with their employment prospects supporting a more equal and diverse work force and bring greater collaboration with an inclusive work place. We do this by providing personal development, practical and Health & Safety training in the following areas: Joinery Paint & Decorating Brickwork Pathways Drainage Manual Handling Cable Avoidance Hard/Soft Landscaping Aluminium Towers Dry stone walling Completing CSCS certification Risk and COSHH assessment Power Tools As important, we provide support and encouragement for our learners. Many of our learners have not worked since leaving school or are non-attenders currently of school age. Self-esteem is often very low. By providing taster sessions within different areas of the building trade. This allows the learner to gain knowledge and the choice to concentrate within a particular field; they may ordinarily have not had the opportunity. We home in on their strengths and build on them. This leads in many cases gaining an apprenticeship, securing a college course or employment. Since our team were made redundant from Learning World in November 2012, we have made it our sole aim to keep the continuity we have successfully maintained over the years as training providers. We secured funding, from the Big Lottery, Young Start and Investing in Ideas. This has allowed us to buy equipment and resources to provide correct and current training for the learners within our centre. We managed to secure the premises with our Landlord before Leaning World closed their doors at the end of October 2012. This has provided us the start we need to carry forward our work within the East End of Glasgow and continue to build our relationships with other agencies, for example; Education Services; Activity Agreements Officers and Integrated Children’s Services, East End Regeneration, and more recently Forestry Commission Community Woodland Trust, to help provide a tangible Green Legacy, as well as the Youth Circus, as part of the Commonwealth Games. Our aim as a training provider is primarily based on passion not profit. Seeking to deliver a stepping stone for our learners who live within areas of high unemployment, deprivation, addiction and social exclusion. As well as, working with young people who have been excluded from school, and are being cared for away from the family home. Often this means we have to address the local gang culture, within Glasgow, South Lanarkshire and surrounding areas, as we bring together the Young People into training centre. Upon her retirement in 2010, Carol Erdman, who had worked with inSITE for 15 years became President and CEO. Since the turn of the century, inSITE has continued to grow and serve the business community as well as contribute to the community as a whole. Our forte has been to place teams on-site to assess, develop, deliver, and evaluate classroom-based training and web-based solutions. inSITE has expertise in conducting comprehensive needs and task analysis that truly determine skill-based needs. We focus on performance, not training, so our recommendations, once implemented, create an environment where employees not only have task-related skills to conduct their jobs, but are able to perform at levels needed for employees to reach their benchmarks, departments to achieve their goals, and the organization to attain its strategic plan while being flexible and ready to take on new challenges. Our eLearning modules can be tailored to include your policies, culture and other specific content. We use gamification to engage learners in classroom and web-based platforms. Adults learn when they are engaged and participating so our classroom learning engages all the senses. In order to ensure significant learning occurs in two to six hour courses, we limit lectures to 15 minutes or less and call them lecturettes. The remainder of the class is for large and small group discussion, enriching case studies that are so true to life they arouse emotion, role plays that help participants understand how they naturally behave in certain situations, simulations and video vignettes that demonstrate typical work place issues and bring learning to life. We are the first replication site of The Hill Center in Durham, NC and have been serving area students with learning differences since 2002. Our Vision The vision of GLC is to make this successful teaching method available to as many students in Pitt County and the surrounding counties, as possible. GLC will continue to serve the needs of Pitt County students by working in partnership with Pitt County Public Schools and area private schools. It is also our goal to work with families and students in need of financial assistance by offering scholarships. In addition, GLC hopes to cooperate with ECU as a resource for future teachers and as an official internship site and volunteer service center. We look forward to becoming a vital resource for the east. In the beginning, many thought it would be impossible to start such a project in eastern NC, but the determination of three mothers cannot be underestimated. The idea began to take root in 1997 after a visit to The Hill Center in Durham. It was determined by the three founding families at that time to make an investment and to begin to hire teachers to train in The Hill Center Methodology. Laura Bruce Hadley Nichols came on board and eventually became the school’s director. Dr. Michael Priddy who was a superintendent of Pitt County Public Schools at the time, made the trip to Durham with the founding mothers along with Mr. Larry Seigler (GLC board member), and Dr. Marilyn Sheer (previous Dean of ECU School of Education). We met with The Hill Center professionals and Dr. Priddy and decided that GLC would be a great partner with Pitt County Schools. The meeting was successful and afterwards Dr. Priddy granted transfer credit to GLC from Pitt County Schools. From this point on, GLC has been helping children throughout Pitt County meet their academic potential and feel good about who they are even though they learn differently.

We are a group of individuals from different backgrounds and with a broad range of experiences. Collectively we have worked in and with statutory services, private business, charitable and voluntary organisations, and across many sectors including health and social care, education, heritage and industry. Each Director brings a rich array of knowledge and perspectives and we are bound by our common interest in building a fairer society. We like to be creative and to seek the involvement of others in generating new ideas, both to overcome existing challenges and in Thinking BIG about new ways to improve experiences and outcomes. After a number of years of talking about ideas, we decided it was time to take action. We looked at different models for forming a charitable, not-for-profit organisation, and took advice from some who had gone before us in this sector. As a result, we formed Thinking BIG as a Community Interest Company, dedicated to engaging in training, and projects with individuals, groups and organisations, in pursuit of the overarching aim - to promote social inclusion, opportunity and wellbeing, by making a positive difference to services and people's lives through meaningful training and community engagement. There are no share holders, no dividends and no spurious expenses. Any funds raised are put entirely into the running of projects for the benefit of the community. As for the name, we asked the people we work with what words they thought captured what we do. We want people to Think BIG when considering new projects and activities, not to be limited by what is already out there. A little imagination and passion goes a long way, and we're on an exciting journey. We have experience of achieving outstanding outcomes, both with organisations, and with individuals. Our training is designed, delivered, evaluated and quality assured, with organisations benefiting from improved employee ability, confidence, performance and wellbeing. The Nest Southwest is a not-for-profit, social enterprise, community interest company. It was set up in Devon by local women to support other women and girls through the major life transitions of menstruation, pregnancy, birth and menopause by providing social, emotional and informational support. Our Vision & Mission Our vision is to live in a world where women and girls feel empowered and fulfilled at each stage of their life. We want to be part of creating a cohesive society where these rites of passage are honoured as gateways of personal development as well as biological milestones. Our mission is to provide social, emotional and educational support, to improve well-being and self-esteem. We support women, girls and people who menstruate through menstruation, pregnancy, childbirth, and menopause. We believe in intersectional feminism by promoting gender justice and racial justice. We are anti-racist and pro-trans rights. We believe in equality for all genders. We offer compassionate peer support, and provide a safe, nurturing environment to explore emotional and physical literacy as we pass through these rites of passage. There is no right or wrong way to go through these gateways, they are as individual as we are. But we don’t have to do it alone. What a different place our world will be if we felt belonging, supported, and respected as we welcomed ourselves to the next stage of life! Our History The seeds of this dream had been swirling for some years before finding a place to land. The Nest was officially registered as Community Interest Company in October 2019 by Hazel Acland, Jodie Wilkerson and Nancy Osborne. Together they launched their first project in March 2020 just as the covid-19 pandemic was sweeping the world. Plans quickly adapted to this new reality and became a weekly online wellbeing group to bring together pregnant and birthing people in the Exeter and East Devon area. The group has evolved to create a perinatal peer support network, training mums to support other mums through matrescence from pregnancy to parenting. The Nest has grown in other areas as well – starting to deliver services around menstruation and menopause support, with much more in the pipeline! We want to challenge all forms of oppression including those based on race, ethnicity, nationality, faith, gender, sexuality, learning ability, physical impairment, mental illness, age, occupation, income, or wealth. We aim to design our activities, services and decision making processes specifically to encourage and support participation from people who face disadvantage in society, including women, girls, BME people, disabled people, LGBTQI+ people, and people on low incomes. Safeguarding The Nest Southwest CIC is fully committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults. We believe that safeguarding is of paramount importance and that everyone has the right to be safe. We work hard to ensure that The Nest protects and promotes the safety and well-being of all children, young people and adults we work with. All our team members are trained in safeguarding and child protection and have valid DBS checks. Every year as we approach the year end, I like to take stock of where we are and write a letter to clients. This is in part to thank you for your much valued business, but also to tell you how things are going here at e-clinic and let you know a little of what we have planned for the coming year. I hope you’ve all had a good 2015 and are looking forward to taking some time out over the festive period. The feedback we’re getting from clients is that the market in most sectors has improved this year and that whilst there is some way to go, things are certainly easier than they have been in the last few years. 2015 has been a good year for e-clinic, with healthy increases in both revenue and profit. Indeed, it’s fair to say that our company is in the strongest position it has ever been. I tell you this as hopefully it gives you reassurance that, having been around for a long time already, we intend to be around for a very long time to come, and that can only happen if our business is stable and profitable. Most of the increased revenue has, of course, gone back into improving the business, rather than into my guitar collection! Our team has almost doubled in size over the last year, which has enabled me to focus much more on development than in previous years. It has also enabled us to reduce support response times significantly. Our performance is independently monitored by ZenDesk and currently we sit in the world’s top 4% of software companies who use ZenDesk in terms of support team performance. I think this is something we can be very proud of and I know many of you have taken the time to comment on the quality of service you receive from Robin and his team. They have worked very hard this year and I am, as always, very much indebted to them. The development team has continued to work away behind the scenes on ideas for the next version of e-clinic. We recently completed the work on Healthcode integration for insurance invoicing, along with a full integration with Xero Accounts. Currently Dillip is looking at ways to better implement email marketing from within e-clinic, including the reporting of outcomes such as emails opened and clicked through directly within the patient record. Hannah is doing some very exciting stuff with web and Facebook and Joe is beavering away on some interface improvements to bring us more in line with current trends and to improve our mobile options. The growing sales and marketing team also continues to improve client communications and we have a number of plans in this regard for next year, particularly in terms of improving our web site for mobile users. I’ll be spending a little more time than usual at home with my family (and my guitars) over Christmas, but for those of you who have to work over the holidays, we will be providing support during business hours as we always do (more details lower down). I’d like to finish by thanking you all for your business over the past year. I hope you all have a wonderful time over Christmas and the New Year and return refreshed and excited for what will hopefully be an excellent year for us all in 2016.

Our Centres We are now able to offer fire and security apprenticeship training in across England; Warrington, Birmingham, Oxford, Southport and Watford (opening mid 2022). We also have facilities in Glasgow to cater to our learners in Scotland. These innovative partnerships were developed based on the feedback we received from many of our employers earlier in the year, where it was highlighted that there was a definite need for more training providers across the whole of England. The purpose of these partnerships was to make training more accessible, flexible and affordable for our employers. What we offer Our learning programmes are exclusively tailored for apprentices in the security industry, specifically a niche part of the industry - fire and security emergency alarm systems. We have excellent networks as a specialist provider for Security. We pride ourselves on the excellent quality service which we deliver and hold our products and services in very high regard. Skills for Security work with employers to set National Occupational Standards, improve security skills and professionalism by providing access to training, apprenticeships and security qualifications for people employed in security roles across the UK. We are the preferred apprenticeship training provider in England for the security industry We have over 450 apprentices enrolled throughout England We have a purpose built and fully equipped technical teaching workshop at our Technical Training Centre in Warrington with satellite centres in Southport & Birmingham We are Industry leaders in e-learning accredited training We have fully Qualified Electronic Fire & Security trainers We also offer team leadership and customer service apprenticeships and we also deliver CPD accredited technical training.
