Welcome to the College of Contemporary Health Established in 2013, the College of Contemporary Health (CCH) provides continuing professional development (CPD) and postgraduate education for health professionals in obesity care, behaviour change and digital health solutions. We combine flexible online learning with world-class academic expertise, overseen by our outstanding Academic Advisory Board. Established in 2013, our mission is to make healthcare professionals proficient in providing care to those who need weight management advice as well as treating those who suffer from obesity. Our courses cover the causes and consequences of weight issues and seek to explore the most effective solutions for each individual, paying particular attention to those areas not adequately covered by other institutions such as paediatric obesity and obesity and reproductive health. In 2019, CCH partnered with BCT Online and introduced its first suite of courses in behavioural change therapies and in 2021, CCH and the University of Central Lancashire introduced academic courses in digital health disciplines, where graduates will play a key role in the digitalisation of health care organisations around the world. CCH offers the most comprehensive suite of courses related to obesity care of any institution, public or private, worldwide.

Let me tell you a little about me and the charity TIP, -Trauma Informed Parenting. After fostering for seven years and parenting my own two girls, one with special needs, I am only too aware of the challenges that children with trauma and special needs can struggle with and how little help or support is available. While attending the ‘ACE Aware nation conference, in September 2018 I was introduced to the work of Bryan Post of the Post Institute and his ‘Stress model’. Using his trauma lens techniques changed everything for my foster child, my own PDA (Pathological Demand Avoidance) child and everyone in our home. This was truly transformational, so much so that I became certified in the stress model and feel driven to share this information with as many people as possible. I just wish I had known this years ago.
