SOPHIE RAE IS A MURAL ARTIST WORKING PREDOMINANTLY IN BRISTOL, LONDON + THE SOUTH WEST SPECIALISING IN BOLD, COLOURFUL, BOTANICAL, ABSTRACT DESIGNS Sophie Rae loves gliding a paintbrush across a smooth surface, transforming bland grey walls into beautiful works of art. It is truly where she gets in the flow. She loves working on walls outside and in, large scale murals as well as smaller ones. She’s painted murals in gardens, cafes, bars, restaurants, offices, schools, shop and high street facades and hoardings, to name a few. Drawing inspiration from plants (glorious plants) and enlarging, and playing with abstraction until a sweet balanced composition emerges. As well as mural painting Sophie creates beautiful prints, lovingly handcrafted, without using a press. Shapes are sketched and refined, then cut by hand with a craft knife into stencils. A roller then applies ink in the gaps. This helps give each print its irregularities. If you’re after learning from Sophie Rae she can be found sharing her unique printing technique, inspiring and igniting creativity through (fairly) regularly teaching workshops. Epilepsy Footprint is a non-profit organisation which aims to educate people everywhere about epilepsy. All our surplus funds are used in developing countries to improve people’s access to support services and medical treatments for epilepsy. Too many people in these countries are dying from treatable seizures due to poverty, lack of access to medical services for epilepsy and general attitudes towards the condition. Ignorance towards epilepsy also means many people in the developing world are too scared to be diagnosed with the condition because it could potentially result in them losing their work, family or education. People known to have seizures could also be physically abused or poisoned by witch doctors."

Loop was opened in the Summer of 2005 by Susan Cropper, a New Yorker living in London. She wanted it to be like the best yarn fair you can imagine in a warm and inspiring space along with incredible staff who are expert knitters and friendly and talented people. Most of our yarns are natural fibres and a lot are hand-dyed yarns from the likes of La Bien Aimee, Madelinetosh, Spincycle, Qing, The Uncommon Thread, Eden Cottage Yarns, Lichen + Lace, and many small independent dyers from the UK and around the world. Loop is also the UK Flagship shop for Quince & Co, Brooklyn Tweed, and Woolfolk. Loop also stocks a huge range of haberdashery which is useful and beautiful as well as a great selection of vintage haberdashery which includes buttons, ribbons, and an incredible selection of embroidery and mending threads. With a passion for print, we also have a wonderful collection of publications – books and magazines from all over the world as well as a huge collection of printed patterns. The Faraday Institute for Science and Religion is a Cambridge-based interdisciplinary research institute improving public understanding of science and religion. Its main focus is on the relationship between science and the Christian faith, but it also engages with those of any faith or none. It aims to provide accurate information in order to facilitate informed debate. Founded in 2006 (as part of St Edmund’s College) since 2018 it has been an independent charitable organisation and an Associate Member of the Cambridge Theological Federation. The mission of The Faraday Institute is to shed new light on life’s big questions through academically rigorous research in the field of science and religion; to provide life-changing resources for those with interests in science and faith through research dissemination, education and training; and, to catalyse a change in attitude towards science and faith, through outreach to schools, colleges, the scientific community, religious institutions and the general public. The Faraday Institute has a vision to make the very best of academic scholarship available as widely as possible. To this end we have invested significantly in bursaries for academics from parts of the world where access to good resources is limited. It’s obvious to us that diversity problems won’t be solved by panel discussions or in echo chambers. And so we designed The Blueprint mark. Its purpose is simple: to help talented Black, Asian, Mixed Race and Ethnic Minority pros get the careers they deserve, and to help organisations genuinely committed to diversity to benefit from their talent. In 2018 and 2019 we brought together two genuinely diverse groups to work together to come up with solutions to the PR industry’s diversity problem. They included rising stars and powerhouses with incredible careers. They included in-house pros and agency heads, crisis comms specialists and an award-winning creative. There was a Mum of twins, an ex-soldier, a counsellor and a councillor. A D&I specialist, a healthcare policy expert, a disability campaigner (with great hair!) and a kick-ass HR director. There was a born and bred Mancunian, a Scot, Nigerians, a Jamaican and even someone from the exotic land of Leamington Spa. In mixed groups they were introduced to a number of harrowing case studies based on the experiences of people working in PR and comms and ran through a series of exercises. They leaned into the uncomfortable, they laughed, they listened and they worked. Through those workshops, The Blueprint was born. And those incredible individuals? They serve as advisory board members (meeting three times a year and shaping our work) and consultants (on hand to provide an additional steer). As for day-to-day? The Blueprint is delivered by Blueprinted, a company with purpose led by founder Elizabeth Bananuka and Project Manager Olivia Danso, with the support of NEDS Anouchka Burton and Daljit Bhurji. Profits from The Blueprint are used to support the work of BME PR Pros.
