I have been building my Complementary Therapy practice since 2005. Initially offering Reflexology and Reiki, and more recently I have added Sound Healing to my portfolio. I am also a qualified Soul Midwife, which is a holistic and spiritual companion to the dying, assisting people to make a gentle transition at the end of their life. Following some deeply profound personal experiences with death over the last 20 years I trained in 2017 with Felicity Warner, founder of the Soul Midwives School, Dorset. I am deeply honoured to be a mentor for newly qualified Soul Midwives in the Somerset & Bath And North East Somerset areas. I can help you to rest, relax and really give yourself the time and space you need to just BE. I heard a saying recently along the lines of ‘we are human beings, not human doings’ and that really resonates with me ….. so often we are so caught up in the minutiae of everyday life, it’s hard to stand back, take stock and just breathe. That’s where I can help you to reconnect to yourself and to assist you to get your mind, body, emotions and spirit back into balance. Our bodies are always striving for homeostasis, which is perfect balance, and through our work together I can support you in this. I always say, it’s not me doing the work, it’s you who do it, I am just guiding the way. With a gentle loving touch, the right amount of empathy and shed loads of empowerment I can support and guide you into a greater sense of health and wellbeing. I support clients with a wide range of varying lifestyles, conditions and needs. I treat you holistically, which means I see you as a whole person rather than a collection of symptoms. I am a fully qualified Reflexologist, Sound Healer and a Reiki Master/Teacher in the Usui tradition and lineage. I hold full membership of the Association of Reflexologists and I co-lead one of the Associations Area Groups for Reflexologists. I treat my therapy clients in a relaxed home environment and always give them quality time and focused attention. I treat as I find and am governed by my clients needs rather than the clock. My aim is to give each client the space to totally relax and unwind, allowing the body to heal itself. One of my absolute passions is supporting women along their fertility, conception and birth journey. Through my own struggles with fertility I have a deep understanding of the urgent yearning for a child and the frustrations and self-recrimination this can bring, not to mention the strain on your relationship. I offer a non-judgemental empathetic listening ear, I have tissues for when you feel low and I will cheer you on when you share your good news with me. I am a strong advocate for natural pregnancy, childbirth and parenting but I would never push my own views on anyone, I support women in all their various choices. I am a qualified Breastfeeding Peer Supporter and am always happy to assist with any questions regarding any aspect of pregnancy, birthing, breastfeeding and so on. I had all three of my children at home in our own little birthing pool using homeopathy and Hypnobirthing to support me. I am very pro women’s choice for all aspects – Your body, your baby, your choices! When I’m not working I enjoy spending quality time with my husband and our three lovely children, one of our favourite activities is walking our dog, Saffy, at Hestercombe Gardens, or on the surrounding hills. I also enjoy a Kundalini Yoga class each week with Shivdev Kaur and a Kayaking, Canoeing or Stand-Up Paddleboarding session with TASCC (Taunton Adventurous Sport Canoe Club) so I have time as just ‘Cathy’ rather than ‘Mum’ or ‘Therapist’!

Hello and welcome! I’m delighted you found me here in my little corner of the internet. When I started blogging in 2010 on a very clunky laptop, I had no clue at all that Poppy Loves London and all that it encompasses, would become my full time and very much loved job. Here you’ll find me writing about things I love now and have loved over the years, including my favourite fashion finds, travel destinations, recipes, homeware and coffee haunts. I’ve written endlessly about cosy cafes to hide away in and fancy restaurants for celebrations, my latest beauty finds, bakeries (the cake!) gorgeous interiors, books I’ve adored and all things knitwear. Oh, and jumpsuits. (Oh, and dresses…) And of course, you can’t shut me up about my home city, London. What a place it is… I have over a decade of experience in working in branding, social media and communications so I understand the influencer world from both sides, which has been incredibly valuable over the years and has meant that I have been able to work with and support some of my favourite brands and businesses. After a fairly traumatic few months for us all, while she suffered enormously with reflux, we all popped out the other end with a huge sigh of relief and she is now a proper walking, talking human and the funniest person I know. She can also out-eat me in crumpets, which you should know, is exceptionally impressive. At the Yoga Village our ethos is inclusive and independent. There need be no barriers to practising yoga and so our classes welcome everyone, young and old, people with medical conditions, people who have practised yoga for years and people who are completely new to it. The Yoga Village began when we – a couple of yoga teachers – moved to Nottingham in 2005. We are now known throughout the city for our wide-ranging antenatal and family-centred yoga classes, which includes pregnancy yoga, birth workshops, postnatal classes, parent and toddler groups, kids’ yoga and mini retreats for mums. We love and value these classes immensely and believe that they are able to provide deep support for women and men through the intensity of early years’ parenting. We’re delighted that hundreds of friendships have been born out of these classes. We are also experienced and highly qualified teachers of general yoga classes for adults. We started out as general yoga teachers and have taught for two decades. Our style of yoga is essentially restorative and meditative with a focus also on physical practice and health. This style and training is the underpinning of all our classes and in particular gives us the tools to work with a broad range of students. We have run specialist classes for people who have suffered strokes, for prisoners, for people with ME, MS, addiction and more. Our general classes are for anyone interested in a style of yoga that is relaxing and holistic. The somatic (body) awareness practised can lead to a transforming relationship with our bodies which can gradually free us from old patterns (physical and mental) leading to more resilience (eg from the effects of stress) and improved mental and physical well-being. As teachers we’ve been fortunate enough to spend over twenty years training with a much loved senior teacher and in ashrams. When we started teaching, yoga wasn’t the big business it is today – with quick teacher-training courses and multiple franchises. We have been blessed to experience and value depth of training, long term commitment and a sense of integrity which honours the subject of yoga. Yoga means union: this can be union with ourselves, with our friends and family, and with our community and planet. Simple yoga techniques can help us live a healthier life that is more balanced and harmonious.

The only emails you’ll get from us contain important information about your Bump Classes while you are on the course. Dr Chiara Hunt is a GP based in Sloane Street, Knightsbridge. She has worked on the labour wards at St Mary’s hospital, Paddington and Chelsea and Westminster hospital, as well as in paediatrics. She looks after many young families in the central London area and maintains a keen special interest in paediatrics and women’s health. She is the mother of two young children and lives in Notting Hill. Marina hosts the Eight Week Antenatal Course in South Kensington. She supports and gets to know the participants over eight weeks, supporting the professionals and providing the practical advice and skills honed as a mother. She has two children, Ludo and Iona, and in spite of tragedy, (her son Willem was stillborn in 2014) she has become motherhood’s biggest advocate. As well as teaching Bump Classes, she writes regularly for various publications including The Telegraph, The Times, Baby London and Nurture Magazine about pregnancy and motherhood. She lives with her husband, the TV presenter Ben Fogle in Notting Hill. A former Bump Class girl herself, she knows first hand the benefits of such a comprehensive course, as she says it prepared her for birth, motherhood and everything in-between! We are a leading London maternity hospital and care for more than 8,000 pregnant women and birthing people and their babies each year. We provide all aspects of obstetric and midwifery care, from before conception and before birth (antenatal) to birth and after delivery (postnatal). The majority of pregnant women and people will be cared for by our expert team of midwives who are experienced in supporting those with uncomplicated pregnancies and births. When your circumstances are more complex, our specialist obstetric doctors and allied health professionals will work alongside your midwife to give you the care and support your need to have a safe and satisfying birth. You will have your own ideas about how you would like your baby to be born – whether at home or in hospital – and we do our best to help you to achieve this. We have obstetric-led birthing rooms, midwife-led birth suites with birth pools, obstetric theatres for both planned and emergency caesareans, and a homebirth service. Are you pregnant and want to have your baby with King's? You do not have to see your GP before contacting us. Please complete the King's College Hospital antenatal self-referral form to refer yourself and send to kch-tr.antenatalreferral@nhs.net. We will then email you with a reference number to confirm we have received your referral. Your first appointments with the midwife and scanning team will be sent to you either via post or email. Please note we may contact and share information with other health professionals as required. We see pregnant women and people who live in the below postcode areas in Lambeth, Southwark, and Lewisham. Referrals from those who live outside this catchment area will also be considered: SW2, SW4, SW8, SW9, SW16 SE1, SE4, SE5, SE11, SE14, SE15, SE16, SE17, SE19, SE21, SE22, SE23, SE24, SE25, SE26, SE27 CR7 Antenatal care (before the birth) This is provided by the midwifery team caring for women and pregnant people in your local area, alongside your GP or obstetrician. During your pregnancy, you will have regular appointments to make sure you and your baby are well. You will be offered routine health checks such as blood tests and other screenings, you can read more about the different scans, tests and antenatal care you can expect on the NHS website. Your screening choices are explained in this screening information leaflet, which is produced by Public Health England and available in several languages. We also provide care if screening finds you have an infectious disease, including Hepatitis B, HIV or syphilis. Badger Notes You can access your pregnancy notes and leaflets via the Badger Notes website or app. Your account will be activated after your first midwife appointment. You can use the digital maternity notes platform to communicate with your care team and we recommend you use the ‘Conversations’ option to share your birth preferences with us before your birth. Your midwife can help you with this. Clinic and scan locations Read your appointment letter carefully to see where to go for your appointments, because these are held at a variety of locations. This includes children’s centres, GP and health centres, and a number of buildings on the King's site, including Stork on the Hill, Midwives House and the Community Midwives Centre. Ultrasound (nuchal) scans take place in the Harris Birthright Centre, in the Fetal Medicine Research Institute. Buildings on the hospital site are shown on the King's campus map. Parent education classes We offer a range of online workshops to help prepare you for birth and baby. Join the 'Welcome to King’s Maternity' workshop in your first trimester to learn more about how to stay healthy in pregnancy, the services we offer, and other workshops that may be suitable for you. Where to give birth You can choose to give birth: in the Nightingale Birth Centre at King’s at home with the help of our community-based midwives, if you live in King’s catchment area. Our Maternity Department is on the third and fourth floors of the Golden Jubilee Wing and includes the Nightingale Birth Centre. Our facilities include 10 labour rooms, operating theatres, recovery rooms and a high dependency unit (HDU). Midwife-led birthing suite You have the choice of two midwife-led birthing rooms, each with a birthing pool and their own shower and toilet, where we have created a ‘home from home’ feel for your birth environment. Homebirth Our home birth midwife team (called Phoenix) provide a home birth service within the King’s catchment area. If you are interested in this option, indicate this on your antenatal self-referral form, or contact your community midwife. We will support women and birthing people to make informed choices about where they would like to birth their babies. There may be instances when a home birth might not be recommended, and your midwife or doctor can discuss these with you. Neonatal Unit Babies who need special care are looked after in the Neonatal Unit by our specialist team, it is located opposite Nightingale Birth Centre on the fourth floor of Golden Jubilee Wing. Anthony Nolan umbilical cord blood donation If you give birth at King’s College Hospital, you can help save the life of someone with blood cancer by donating your umbilical cord blood to the Anthony Nolan Cord Blood Programme after you give birth. We are one of five hospitals in the UK where women can donate their umbilical cords. Please watch this short animation about donating your cord blood. If you would like to register to donate cord blood, please speak with your midwife or one of the dedicated cord blood collectors at King’s College Hospital. If you have any questions about cord blood donation, please get in touch with the team at Anthony Nolan: Cord.Collection@anthonynolan.org After the birth (postnatal) If everything with your birth has been uncomplicated we encourage you to go home within a few hours. You can contact the maternity unit at any time day or night if you have any concerns. If you or your baby needs to stay in hospital for additional care you will be transferred to William Gilliatt postnatal ward for the remainder of your stay. This ward contains four-bedded bays and shared bathrooms. You and your baby room in together and birth partners are able to visit 24 hours a day. Going home Our care does not stop once you are at home. When you leave King’s you should have a visit from your community midwife within 24 hours. They will plan visits with you over the next 10 days. If you live outside King’s area your details will be passed to your local community midwives who will take over your care. If you would like support with breastfeeding, we have specialist infant feeding midwives who offer virtual workshops and in-person support via referral from your community midwife. Feedback Friends and Family You can tell us what you did and didn’t like about your care by completing the Friends and Family feedback form, it only takes a couple of minutes and you can comment on your antenatal, birth and postnatal ward or postnatal community care. PALS The Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) is a service that offers support, information and assistance to patients, relatives and visitors. They can also provide help and advice if you have a concern or complaint that staff have not been able to resolve for you.

I discovered the joys of yoga during my first pregnancy in 1997. The practices have supported me through two pregnancies, birth and motherhood. I have continued to study and deepen my practice and after completing a British Wheel of Yoga foundation course in 2005, I travelled to India to experience ashram life. My love for yoga continues to grow and I feel passionately about passing on the teachings so others can enjoy its many benefits. I also practice Vipassana Meditation and have participated and helped serve on several silent meditation retreats. After qualifying as a teacher with Yoga Alliance I went on to complete a three year teacher training in Bihar School of Yoga (Satyananda Yoga), accredited by the British Wheel of Yoga, the leading governing body for yoga teaching standards. Satyananda Yoga is an authentic, holistic and systematic approach to unlocking human potential with emphasis on combining breath and movement, helping body and mind to find stillness. The training is thorough and based on practical experience, and the teachers are renowned for good quality teaching. I continue to study attending monthly Yoga days when I can and I practice daily, I am committed to making my life a living yoga practice. Since qualifying to teach I have also trained in the practice of Thai Yoga Massage., I have taken a Six month training in meditation techniques with Swami Pragyamurti. Also attended several retreats and two day workshops and more recently (2016) I untertook a six month Module in Yoga for Mental Health with Sn Amarajyoti. I occasionally run courses in Yogic Tools to Improve Mental Health - Short Courses I have seen many people, including myself, benefit from a mindful yoga practice that helps us to work with our fluctuating energies to bring about a state of steadiness and balance. In 2018 I took a training course in the 'Vashita Method of Pranayama' which is a simple and effective way to develop the breathing practices and improve our health and well being. I then continued with another course spread over 8 months " Progressive stages of pranayama" with Maarten Vermasse. I am deeply grateful for all my Yoga Teachers, who continue to inspire me, and to all the students who keep on teaching me. I have experience of teaching all ages from pre-school, teenagers, to the elderly, and from large groups to one to one sessions. I also teach a class for 10 -16 year olds with a wide range of Special Needs and a class for people with learning difficulties. Based on my experience as a carer for a wheelchair user I have devised a class for people with limited mobilities called Chair Yoga. I feel that yoga can offer many tools for supporting day to day life for people with disabilities, limited mobility and other special needs. I am passionate about what yoga has to offer and teach from my heart.
