We encourage enquirers to browse through our childcare course to find the perfect support we offer. CONTEXT AND PERSPECTIVE Oxford Open College has a concept that : Children brought up well are most likely to be successful as adults. This is only possible where government, parents and childcare providers work together: At one time whole families with their children used to work long hours to earn the bare minimum to have something to eat in England, “a poor Law Amendment Act 1834” was done; this resulted in governments of the day setting up “clubs of workhouses” in which the paupers were to live…. In a way this was as if guaranteeing them an even more miserable time; here widows and orphans lived. The work reform Act decided that children under nine years old should not work, strangely the Law makers seemed oblivious to the reality that children were not working for fun, but survival due to poverty……..surely Childcare has come a long way. Oxford Open College is Giving new ideas to the learner/practitioner of how best to present material; the Course is implementation of good practice; sharing knowledge and experience: Therefore, this book only offers guidance, ideas; pointers of the best responses to commonly asked topical questions in the UK, NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Childcare. The suggested responses are exhaustive. The selected topics are based on real units and questions or tasks. Oxford Open College have used personal experience in “practicing Childcare settings:” This experience is what has been used to address most of the topics, questions; drawing from real life situations of safeguarding and caring for Children. The Course text book is written in the first person context I or in My setting so that the upgrading or aspiring practitioner can put themselves in the context of what is happening in their own situation or setting in order to draw parallels and learn by inclusion and participation of shared experience and good practice towards safeguarding, playing with and development of; Children. Oxford Open College provides aspiring practitioners with a preamble in form of a model self-evaluation of a childcare setting, to help practitioners evaluate own provisions. Oxford Open College recognises that there are key factors of how to deal with different situations and a summary of headings of usable policies that can be developed by a starting practitioner. Oxford Open College ensures that the course will include “Advice” for practitioners and learners to deal with various situations such as learning differences, bullying and keeping an outstanding setting. Oxford Open College has designed a childcare course so that in its recess the learning offers learners and practitioners an adaptable handbook to be used by any setting. Adderley Nursery School

adderley nursery school

1HN,

Adderley is a very child-centred nursery, which means that children spend much of their day engaged in self-directed learning. The majority of the day is free-flow, meaning children choose to engage in a range of different activities, indoors and outdoors. Children engage in activities independently and with their friends, as well as taking part in adult facilitated activities that are planned from children's interests and developmental needs. We believe that at this young age children learn best through a play-based curriculum, with support from our experienced staff team who engage with children in their play to support social interaction, language development and further learning opportunities. Some key attributes we seek to develop in children include self-confidence, problem solving and independence. 2-4s Unlike many other settings, at Adderley our two to four year olds are all part of the same unit. They share the same space and access the same activities. The Nursery is led by qualified early years' teachers and experienced qualified Nursery Practitioners. Key Person Each child & family has a named key practitioner. This offers the opportunity for a special relationship to develop. The key practitioner builds a close relationship by acting as a companion for the child & being mindful to the needs of the child during each day. The key practitioner acts as a champion for child & parent. Sharing information and creating opportunities to talk with parents builds trust & partnership. Settling-in is a crucial time. Transitions Each child and family is unique. Before starting Nursery, we offer all children and families a pre-entry induction meeting at Nursery and sometimes a home visit. We have new children starting every term. We have a range of base areas that offer a place of security for children to explore the Nursery. The Loft Room and Green Room provision support our youngest children to make smooth transitions from home to Nursery. There are seamless internal transitions to Studio 1 and Studio 2 for older children. Studio 1 and Studio 2 offer continuity and progression. We work together to support the settling process. When parents feel comfortable in the setting it helps their children to settle. During the Summer Term we work closely with neighbouring primary schools to offer smooth transitions to Reception. Children leave with excellent primary school readiness. Rhythm of the Day Adderley feels like home. We create Rhythm in the Nursery through our daily routine. Some children arrive early for breakfast and stay for tea. These are nurturing, social times. For most children in Nursery the day begins with meeting & greeting by the key person. A group time with the key person takes place on entry to meet & plan learning (breathing in) (15 minutes). This is followed by a period of child-initiated play indoors & outdoors (breathing out & exploring the world) (90 minutes). A group time at end of the session to share food, reflect, share stories and singing (breathing in) (15 minutes). About the Nursery Rhythm also comes through personal care routines. Nappy changing, changing clothes, washing, eating, quiet/resting/sleeping times are learning and development times for key person and child. Children experience the seasons and feel connected to nature and its lifecycle. There is a planned yearly timetable for looking after the garden and visits to parks. There are unplanned spontaneous experiences connected to weather. Children participate in real experiences like shopping, gardening, cooking and caring for living creatures and plants Food and Nutrition We are passionate about fresh, healthy food that tastes great. The right nutrients can affect everyone's mood, behaviour, health, growth and even their ability to concentrate. Encouraging a well-balanced diet establishes healthy eating now and for the future. We offer hot meals that are brought onto site by specialist caterers in education establishments. The children also have access to a morning snack of fruit with water available throughout the day. We offer breakfast and tea to children who are with us for longer days. The children grow some of our food in the garden. Governing Body The Governing body plays a key role in overseeing the practice and ethos of the school. They provide challenge and support to the Executive Head teacher and leadership team. If you would like to be involved please ask at Reception. Annual Data At Adderley we track children's learning and development termly, seeking to ensure that children make good or better progress and continue to be stimulated and challenged by their nursery experiences. This information is shared with families at termly reviews. We also use this data to identify curriculum development priorities. Working with Parents We value parental input very highly. We are always looking for parents to join our Governing Body which s a way to be involved in the direction that Adderley takes moving forwards. Each term parents meet with their child's Key person and contribute to identifying 'next steps' for their child's learning and development. We encourage families to share children's learning experiences from home through the Tapestry documentation tool.

Solutions for the Mind, Body & Soul

solutions for the mind, body & soul

Thanks for looking at my site. On here, you will be able to see that I offer a range of transformational solutions in the form of training courses, workshops, 1-2-1 sessions, talks and also products for Hypnosis, Regression and other Life Enhancing Modalities. As well as having long-term expertise in Hypnosis and Regression, I am also a Sound Healer (running regular sound baths), a Crystal Healer, a Reiki Master/Teacher in a few different traditions and have taught Reiki for 11 years, a Fully Accredited Spiritual Healer (trained at the College of Psychic Studies way back when), Aura Soma Practitioner, a coach and I work with a wide variety of energy management techniques for the Mind, Body & Soul. In short, I’d call myself a Transformational Energy Worker, and my goal with all that I do is to help people improve the quality of their lives by using simple and effective transformational techniques in a grounded, helpful and beneficial way. I have a private practice in a wonderful location in the Lee in South Bucks. This is most easily accessible by road, and also by rail (Great Missenden 8 minutes by car or Wendover 11 minutes by car) or by Metropolitan line tube via Chesham (14 minutes by car). I have clients coming mainly from London, and also the Home Counties and nation-wide. I also been working online for 4/5 years with clients both in the UK and overseas. In the past I have taught groups in South Africa, Mexico, Belgium, Switzerland, Ireland, Lithuania, Sardinia and the UK, as well as individuals from a wide range of countries and cultures. I am always interested in new opportunities in any country, or part of the UK for talks, workshops or more. Just email me to ask if you have good ideas or questions in that respect. As well as the therapy techniques that I teach, I also offer a range of expertise and workshops in many aspects of life-style improvement, such as relaxation, stress management, increasing productivity, improving your relationship with money, changing the energy of your home and many more. I haven’t always been in the holistic arena. I spent many years working behind a desk in shipping before the call of my intuition uprooted me and led me to quit my job, sell my house and car, and put all my possessions into storage and travel the world for a few years. When I came back to the UK, I had the notion that I had to get my chakras sorted out, and found my way to a place called the College of Psychic Studies in London where I did a 2 year degree as a Spiritual Healer. Around the same time I trained to be a Reiki Master, Theta healer, Aura Soma practitioner, and I also made a truly life-changing decision when I found my way to hypnotherapist to Stop Smoking. That 2.5 hour session saw me swapping one addiction for another as I undertook extensive training in hypnosis, then regression therapy and found my passion in helping people to understand and trance-form their subconscious patterns to liberate themselves from old patterns that have been holding them back for years, decades and often lifetimes. And that’s what I do now – my passion – which is helping people like you to be the best version of yourself that you can be, by clearing and releasing the past in whichever way is most beneficial and helpful for you.

Waggy Races Dog Training & Walking

waggy races dog training & walking

About Becki and where Waggy Races started… My name is Becki and I am an Animal Biology BSc Hons and Animal Care HNC graduate. I qualified through COAPE as an Animal Behaviour Practitioner Dip CABT in 2020. I have been working with animals since a young child but professionally started in 2013 when I embarked on my Animal Care HNC. I was employed in a dog daycare whilst doing my degree, then moved on to working in a veterinary practice as a nurse. After a few years there I decided to make the move and become self employed as a dog walker and trainer. In 2019, a few months after completing my Animal Biology degree, where I wrote my dissertation on Flamingos (!!), I enrolled for my Animal Behaviour diploma with COAPE International. This consisted on 50+ hours in a training school, 50+ in a rescue/shelter environment, 100+ hours of lectures and of assessment writing. Additionally, I am qualified in animal nutrition, canine first aid and body language. I am also a Scentwork UK instructor. My main focus has always been on large breeds and reactive dogs, having experienced many and having lived with my own! We recently lost Enzo, our 2 year old Dobermann pictured, shortly after qualifying for Crufts, to an aggressive form of cancer so I currently share my home with my partner Stewart and my 6 year old cat Casper. My training specialities are advanced obedience, dog reactivity and separation anxiety. My aim is to help owners understand their dog and how to pave a better future for them. I do not judge and will always give the best advice and help I can.
