/my name is Amanda and I’m an Abdominal Therapy Practitioner and Educator. I also offer Holistic massage and Energy work in the Tradition of the Maya. My story begins in the mists of time when I was raising my wonderful offspring. Being interested in complementary therapy I used this period in my life to learn about a variety of therapies and techniques that could help my children through their early years and beyond. When my children flew the nest, I felt the calling to become a complementary therapist and embarked on a life-changing journey. In 2005 on the insistence of a great friend Hilary Lewin, I attended an amazing class based on the work of Dr Rosita Arvigo. This workshop had a profound effect on my whole being. I felt the power of the work, I observed the changes in my body as I practised my abdominal massage at home. I could not believe that such a sweet simple technique could have such a profound effect. My journey had begun, I wanted to not only learn the technique but also understand why it seemed to help with so many health challenges. They say the right teacher will appear when the time is right and I have been blessed. I trained directly with Rosita Arvigo, the founder of the work I now offer in my clinic and the classroom. Understanding the similarities between Maya Medicine and Chinese medicine, in 2011, I travelled to Thailand and studied traditional Thai Massage with the renowned traditional healer, Bann Hom who lives in Chaing Mai, Northern Thailand. It did not surprise me to find her treating her community with an abdominal technique that was not a million miles from the work I knew and loved. I have been inspired by Gil Hedley, the brilliant anatomist who offers dissection classes for anyone who is interested in observing the anatomical connections within the human form. Marty Ryan – Love your Guts Seminars, taught me how to listen to my hands, his palpation classes revealed what was beneath the skin. Life is for learning and every belly I touch teaches me something new. And so, to now, in September 2020 working with a passionate group of educators and colleagues including Rosita Arvigo I became a founding member of the Abdominal Therapy Collective.

It gets so exciting at times, particularly flying into Leeds Bradford Airport with gale force winds or flying over Canary Wharf and Big Ben in London. We also provide the simulator for hire for trainee, professional and retired pilots wishing to brush up their skills. With the full glass cockpit, 4k surround resolution viewing, flight management system and automatic flight director system , overhead systems and audio pedestal systems you can practice all areas of preparation training and real life flying. As the simulator has control loading / flight feel, you will be able to practice any scenario and feel the condition of the aircraft at all times. You may fancy doing a `SULLY` bird strike emergency landing or a recovery from a stall. The simulator has been constructed by ourselves to the highest standard, with the state of the art powerful computers and graphics cards and has been meticulously tested to ensure constant accurate flight feel and reliability. At Britannia Flight Simulator we are used to a varied pilot experience, and our tutor have exposure to this on a daily basis and will adapt to your needs. Pre flight briefings and debriefs are standard for the less experience pilot if they wish to have them, inexperienced or experienced pilots may just want to be left alone with the simulator to do as they wish with different scenarios and emergencies at the click of a button. The simulator itself might not move, but for the aviation enthusiast among us, this realistic flight simulator has a real throttle quandrant with speedbrake, reverse thrust levers and flaps, fully functioning PFDs & NFDs (that’s Primary & Navigational Flight Displays), hydraulics, electrics, APU (that’s the Auxiliary Power Unit), bleed air, oxygen and pressurisation systems. Oh and then there’s the fully working FMC (Flight Management Computer) and MCP (that’s the autopilot). Regular bookings made by regular customers, trainee, professional and retired pilots with receive bulk booking discounts, please email/ask for details. Indeed, stepping up to the flight deck and into the left hand captain’s seat, if you ever thought pilot’s had a easy life with their feet up whilst the autopilot did all the hard work, think again. As the precious cargo of passengers are boarding, the captain and first officer are busy doing route briefings, entering the data into the Flight Management Computer and executing a pre-flight checklist. On the longer experiences (2hours and above) you will follow those airline Standard Operating Procedures (yes, you guessed it - SOPs!). That means you get to do all those critical checks and controls before you ‘take off’ and again when you have completed your landing checks and given the cabin crew the ‘doors to arrival and crosscheck’ command. You get a complete insight into what a typical ‘day at the office for a Boeing driver’

I create women business experts worldwide, inspire them to lead, and empower them to speak on stage. I’m honoured to be an award-winning entrepreneur and industry-leading business coach, having received recognition such as: 2013 Relationship Coach of the Year – Association for Professional Coaches, Trainers, and Consultants (APCTC) Bestselling Author – contributing author to “Coach Wisdom” Founder of Social Media Marketing Events Founder of Women In Business Events International Speaker; has spoken at business and professional conferences throughout the UK, Dubai and in the U.S. and other international markets But the most important recognition to me is the fulfillment and meaning that comes from making a positive difference in my clients lives, and building a stronger community for all of us as entrepreneurs and business leaders. More about me… I have extensive experience as a coach, consultant, social media marketing expert, and entrepreneur. I am passionate about personal and professional development and helping people get more out of life; I believe in the power of education and personal development to inspire people to make transformations in their lives. I’ve seen it happen for so many people, again and again! After several years of successful experience as a professional speaker, I realised that there was a problem in our industry. Too many speaker line-up sat industry events and conferences were all men. There were not very many women being featured to speak on stage. I knew that this was a massive problem. After all, I have worked with so many talented, amazing women who are entrepreneurs and experts and business leaders; why were there not more opportunities for women to speak on stage and be recognised as in-demand business experts? That’s why I decided to start my Des O’Connor Women In Business (WIB) events. I launched my first Women In Business event in London in September 2017, with the goal of inspiring women to become business experts, build brands, deliver value to their clients, and sell their expertise to a global audience. In the years since, I have put more than 150 people on stage at my events (many of them women, many first-time speakers) and I have helped create a more expansive community for women in business (and men too). I also provide business consulting for business experts, entrepreneurs, professional speakers, coaches, and companies that need help with social media marketing, digital marketing, webinar marketing, website development, online lead generation, and more. My clients include: Business Experts: Are you looking start a business for the first time, or build the brand of your existing business? Do you have expertise in a particular field that you’d like to learn how to make into a viable business model? I can work with you to launch your business and help you make money with your unique expertise. Professional Speakers: I empower business experts to speak on stage at my packed-out live events! Whether you are a first-time speaker, or if you already are speaking on stage as part of your business marketing or business model, I can help you get better quality speaking opportunities – including international speaking opportunities. Coaches and Corporate Trainers: I have extensive experience as a coach and professional/personal development expert. I work with some of the best coaches in the industry to help them get better clients, expand their audiences, build their brand, and get paid while they sleep with digital information products (CDs, MP3s, MP4 videos, webinars, etc.) that they can sell worldwide from their website. Authors: Do you want to write a book as part of your business and brand? I can help connect you with publishing resources, book marketing, social media marketing to boost the audience for your book, and I also produce packed-out live Book Launch events for authors. I don’t just put people on stage, I provide comprehensive marketing and brand strategy consulting to help my clients maximise their success on every level. Digital Marketing and Sales Funnels: I help my clients turn their websites into sales machines. There are lots of web designers in the world and you can often get websites designed very cheaply, but unfortunately most web designers do not understand how to systemise your clients’ journeys. I help you create a focused website marketing strategy with built-in sales funnels and CRM (customer relationship management) tools, so that you can generate a conversation with your prospective clients, lead them to sign up for further communications and a deeper relationship, and even better, to inspire your clients to order your products and services. High Quality Lead Generation and Networking: I advise and help my clients (with a variety of packages of services) on how to form their message, improve clarity of their brand and value proposition, and promote them to my extensive network of contacts to drive leads to them and take these new business leads on a journey to build relationships and increase rapport so that you can easily convert them into paying clients. Des O’Connor Shoes: I am passionate about personal and professional development. My entire career has focused on helping people to learn, get inspired, get motivated, and get better at various aspects of their professional and personal lives. So that’s why I’m excited to launch my new line of shoes, Des O’Connor Shoes. These are the world’s first shoes that empower women to improve all aspects of their personal and professional lives.

This is my philosophy. There have been times when I might have said yes too quickly but equally, no-one lives forever.. This is why I decided to go for my Yoga teacher training. A passion to learn and to teach. Following a trip to Thailand I got back to my desk in Edinburgh and thought no! No more... And so I did it, and I want to share my journey and musings. MY YOGA JOURNEY I started ballet at a really young age of 2 and fell in love with being free to move and letting my imagination run wild. Often I was found looking at my mum's Iyengar Yoga book and imitating the yoga images over and over. This connection with movement has never left me. Inspired, I studied Performing Arts specialising in Contemporary Dance at De Montfort University, Bedford, and continued to study Community Education at Edinburgh University where I specialised in Community Arts and Youth Work. I found my way to Yoga after going to a gym class during a stressful period of work where I tried Power Yoga. My coordination at first was terrible and I was struggling to keep up with the class but still really enjoyed attending. I then decided to do a beginner class to see if that could help my coordination and balance. At this point Yoga was still a purely physical practice to me. It was not until several years later that I went on a trip to India where I travelled to Kerala and Goa and really started to be drawn to the spiritual and meditative side of Yoga. I got up as early as 6am to do Yoga practice and discovered Ashtanga Yoga. I was hooked. I liked how the physical benefits improved my health and was especially drawn to the chanting and the wonderful philosophy of Yoga. Two years of regular yoga practice later, after attending a Yoga retreat in Granada and a trip to Thailand, I took the leap and signed up to a Yoga teacher training course. This course would become what I felt to be a challenge and reward at the same time, learning and memorising sancript and Yoga philosophy, finding self acceptance and realising that it is ok if you cannot do every single yoga pose. This course has given me real confidence to teach yoga in the community and share this feeling of excitement. YOGA FOR KIDS My style of kids Yoga classes is drawn to delivering fun and creative yoga sessions. Yoga journeys are a vital part of these classes, where kids can nourish their creativity using movement in their body to tell a story while breath work helps the kids feel more calm. Having completed my Kids Yoga Teacher training with Rainbow Kids Yoga in London, I quickly realised how passionate I am about working with kids of all ages to help them reach their full potential. YOGA FOR ADULTS My style of classes is drawn to delivering dynamic sequences with focus on flow and restorative styles of yoga where students can focus on deep relaxation and connection of movement with breath. I love sharing that inner work with others and for them to leave feeling happier at ease and with a smile. I strongly believe that everyone can do yoga in the right supportive environment. I am a registered RYT-200 Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance. Having completed my training at Meadowlark Yoga Edinburgh in 2015 my style of yoga is distinctively Ashtanga and Vinyasa Flow influenced. BABY MASSAGE My baby massage courses are about providing quality time between parent and baby, relaxing and enjoying special time together. Parent and baby are introduced to baby massage, loving touch, gentle stretches and songs. I work with you to promote confidence, help you learn how to communicate with your baby and understand their cues of responsiveness in a nurturing and stress free environment.I am a qualified Baby Massage Instructor, having completed my training with the Scottish School of Child and Baby Massage and an accredited Massage Therapist with the Scottish School of Massage where I obtained Diplomas in both, Sport and Remedial Massage as well as Indian Head Massage. PREGNANCY YOGA As a Pregnancy Yoga teacher I am extremely passionate about the holistic mind and body benefits yoga can bring to support women through birth and after. I believe yoga is for everyone and is a great support to help mums to de-stress, connect with others, share our journeys and become part of a community. Pregnancy Yoga classes are a fantastic way to nourish our bodies and physically and emotionally improve our health and wellbeing. I am currently running weekly classes in Pregnancy Yoga where I offer a relaxed and calming space for women to practise and provide practical tools to support women during their pregnancy and birth. MUM & BABY YOGA My style of Post natal Mum & Baby Yoga classes is focused on supporting women after birth. It is a great way to nourish our bodies physically and emotionally, as well as improving health and well being. I especially focuses on breath awareness, building strength and flexibility and creating a safe space for women to bond with their baby. I am currently running weekly classes in Mum & Baby Yoga where I offer a relaxed and calming space for women to practice yoga with their baby and supportive space for women to meet together and share experiences.

I guess I’m just a “singing nerd” at the end of the day! I love singing, I love listening to other people sing and I love it when people start to truly express themselves through their singing voices with power, presence and confidence. I’ve been singing all my life. I started out singing in a very good, local High Anglican church choir at the age of 7 that exposed me to harmony and counterpoint, Requiems and Latin - all whilst wearing robes and a frilly ruff! I managed to obtain my Bishops’ Chorister Award just before my voice broke, before moving to the Alto and then finally the Tenor sections of the choir. At this stage my ear was drifting away from classical choral singing and more towards Soul, RnB and Gospel (thanks Whoopi Goldberg and Sister Act!) As a Gospel Singer, I sang with the Liverpool Love & Joy Gospel Choir for many years, touring all over the country from small town halls to football stadia - I had truly fallen in love with this very expressive and emotive art form, and eventually set up Sanctified Gospel Choir who went on to win a Gospel Entertainment & Music (GEM) Award in 2005. I managed to gain a place to study music at the prestigious Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA) which was set up by former-Beatle Sir Paul McCartney, and graduated with honours in 2003. During my time studying at LIPA, I had the opportunity to sing and perform with a vast array of talented artists and performers and fell into providing backing vocals for a number of different main-stream artists of the time. Having discovered over time that I really enjoyed singing backing vocals, was happier with my back to an audience directing as opposed to standing in the spotlight, it was no surprise to me that I ended up gravitating towards teaching singing as a side hustle. And that’s what it was, a side hustle, I had no clue what I was doing and that’s when I fortunately discovered the Speech Level Singing methodology or SLS. Ian Davidson Directing Liverpool Community Choir 2 Ian Davidson and Sanctified Gospel Choir Ian Davidson Headshot Ian Davidson Directing Liverpool Community Choir 1 Ian Davidson Teaching at Vocology in Practice Conference Ian Davidson Training Teachers in Warsaw, Poland Ian Davidson Training Teachers in Cork, Ireland Ian Davidson at the Europe Vocal Camp 2017 Training in the Speech Level Singing (SLS) teaching methodology, studying under world renowned teachers such as Seth Riggs, Dave Stroud, Wendy Parr, John Henny, Dean Kaelin, Greg Enriquez, Jeffrey Skouson and Kathy Kennedy, coincided with my being invited to Lecture in Gospel and A Cappella at my former university, LIPA. Upon completion of my initial SLS training, I was then also invited to Lecture in Vocals at LIPA and taught there for 12 years in total, teaching one-to-one and group singing classes to the students on the Music, Acting and Dance degree and foundation level courses. After achieving Level 3 status within the SLS organisation, I wanted to broaden out my knowledge of vocal pedagogy, vocal harmonics and acoustics, and along with a number of other teachers from around the world came together under the guidance of Dave Stroud to form what is now known as Vocology in Practice or ViP. Shortly after helping to found ViP, where I served as Education Director for a year, I obtained my MA in Music from the University of Salford, where I focussed my studies on the Psychology of Performance and the condition, "Adophobia" (literally the Fear of Singing), on which I wrote extensively for my thesis. I work hard to keep myself informed on the latest pedagogical research and developments within in the world of vocal health and how to teach to ensure that I can provide the very best for my clients. I’ve also recently started training in Laryngeal Massage so that I can bring this highly beneficial manual therapy to the my clients. Highlights of my career to date include being a Lecturer in Singing at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA) and helping to establish and teach on the singing program on the BA(hons) in Musical Theatre at the Institute of the Arts Barcelona. I have also been fortunate to train voices at Rare Studios in Liverpool. I arranged and directed the backing choir on the 2012 UK Christmas No.1 song "He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother" on behalf of the Justice Collective, for which I was awarded a Gold Disc. Aside from my teaching studio, I am the choral director for the Liverpool Community Choir, training the lead voices for the Birkenhead Operatic Society and have recently started training voices for the Pro Vocal Artist artist development program. Over the last ten years or so, my career has taken me down the path of teacher training and I am fortunate to train teachers for two organisations; BAST (Be A Singing Teacher), where I am one of only 5 teacher trainers in the world, and MVT (Modern Vocal Training), the latter of which I serve as an Educational Director. I absolutely love training new teachers; I find it to be really invigorating, plus it keeps me accountable and makes sure that I’m keeping abreast of the latest developments in my field.
