John Chilton School is a mixed Community Special School funded by Ealing Local Authority for pupils aged 4-19 years who may have moderate to severe learning difficulties as a primary need or as a dual diagnosis to their medical or physical needs. John Chilton School is unique in that the main part of the school is located within the all age Alec Reed Academy (ARA). This enables pupils form both schools to integrate and be included as needed. The Phase 2 department is temporarily placed at Wood End Academy in Greenford. John Chilton School has a bespoke building for three classes with additional facilities of a hall, therapy room, sensory room, cookery room and medical support. Specialist staff and therapists working across both sites linking them and ensuring the excellence of the whole school provision. The school building is fully accessible for pupils with disabilities. Facilities include a hydrotherapy pool, therapy suite, food technology rooms, sensory room and a medical room. There are dedicated playgrounds for pupils with a variety of outdoor toys and zones; a large part of these playgrounds has a safety surface. The Yorkshire Dales Centre was established in October 1975 at the Yorkshire Centres, West & North Groups AGM at the Winter Gardens Ilkley. The Yorkshire Dales Centre was fully formed from 1st January 1976 with a chairman Mr Roy Knowles. In January 1976 the first YDC brochure was produced in the style of a “cheque book”. The first rally 13-15 February 1976 and had a valentines theme, it was held at Old Bilton with a rally fee of £1.30p . On the 26-28th March 1976 the centre held its christening & dedication rally at Pool Bank (Chevin Park). September 1978 the first YDC organised Three Peaks Walk took place that grew & grew until some 120 walkers registered to take part, with a briefing Saturday morning at 7.30am. In 1984 at the AGM there were 262 voting members present and 1985 272 which included 28 Teenagers. April 1982 the centre hosted its 500th rally at Ripley Castle. April 1987 the centre hosted its 1000th rally at Bolton Abbey (rather wet venue). July 1996 21st year Thorp Perrow. July 2000 silver jubilee & millennium rally at Woodhouse Grove School Appley bridge. July 2005 30th year celebration rally Pateley Bridge. April 2009 2500th rally at Harewood House. April 2015 40th year celebration at Harewood House. We are currently starting to look for a venue so we can begin preparations for our 50th Birthday in 2025.

I am a proud mother of 5 children. I am the founder of Childcare Solution, a quality childcare provider which was established in 2006. Family has always been extremely important to me being brought up in a family of five; My mum, dad and two brothers. As the eldest sibling I remember organising games and activities for my brothers to take part in. I remember organising races with other children who lived on our streets and even initiating small trips to the local marshes and swimming pool. From what I remember Our family extended to that of our neighbours and local community. We were a street of many nations; Irish, Dominican, Pakistani, Ghanaian, Caribbean and English. We shared our various cultures with each other, with music, celebrations and of course food. But the main highlight was, us the children playing together. We valued our similarities and appreciated our differences. We had the freedom to explore, experiment and challenge, even if it meant learning through painful mistakes. I went on to have a family of my own and after working at several childcare facilities it meant everything to me to provide a space for my children and for every child to create many positive memories. It was important that they could call their play environment their own. That they too could feel safe: to play, grow and make mistakes.

Women's Health Specialist,I wanted to share my personal story with you…these are my 2 little girls (Maisie 4 1/2 years and Iona 21 months old) and I do what I do because of them (literally).I have had 2 amazing pregnancies and births. Maisie was born in the birth pool at the hospital and weighed 7lb 4oz. No drugs and no tears so a normal, straightforward birth. 12 weeks after having her I jumped straight back into an intense fitness regime (way way way too soon!!). Certain exercises made me lea…k slightly but that’s normal right??? I’ve just had a baby. 2 years later and I’m pregnant with Iona. Very similar pregnancy all went well (just tired from running around after a toddler and fitting in clients and classes in between!!). We had a home birth with Iona and she weighted 7lb 11oz – again no drugs and no tears. Second time round it took me longer to get back to intense exercise (for me juggling the needs of 2 children was so much harder than 1). The first class I went back to after Iona (must have been about 9 months post-partum). It included exercises like box jumps, double unders and I basically wet myself!! My body just wasn’t ready for this kind of intense exercise.
