Windle Trust International (WTI) challenges poverty and inequality by expanding access to and improving the quality of education and training, for communities affected by conflict, displacement, neglect or discrimination. WTI is dedicated to reducing inequalities in access to high quality education for these communities, particularly for women and girls. We have a specific focus on increasing access to education for conflict-affected communities seeking to reach children and young people who have been forced to flee or who have been denied education because of the chronic marginalisation that so often accompanies conflict. Our ability to work in insecure and unpredictable areas is one of our distinctive features. We have a geographical focus on East Africa and the Horn of Africa. With offices in Sudan, South Sudan and the UK, we combine local knowledge and expertise with international contacts and a global perspective. This is especially important in our scholarships programme, where we work in partnership with some of the UK’s outstanding universities to provide opportunities for access to world-class teaching institutions. Reflecting our values we work across the breadth of the education sector from primary schools to the tertiary sector. Our commitment is to work with communities in all their diversity – girls and boys, refugees and citizens, teachers and school management committees. We are flexible in the way we work and have a breadth of talent to draw on. Where it is the most appropriate option, we are able to work at community level to make sure that projects are on track. At other times, we will operate at a policy level, seeking to shape the broader context or drawing attention to issues that we think are important, but too often neglected. We are a passionate group of HR specialists that love to deal with people. My name is Paula Ashton and in 2012 I started Ashton People Solutions, a company which provides HR support, advice and consultancy to small to medium sized businesses across the UK. I have worked in HR for over 20 years in corporate organisations such as Barclays, Royal Bank of Scotland, Dixons Group and the automotive sector. In 2018, I went along to the Potters Bar carnival and despite never having done this type of work before, I decided I wanted to join as a carer after seeing all the information and talking to the staff. I was invited to an interview and the rest is history! The company is great, so friendly and flexible to work for. My typical day consists of checking my rota and visiting my regular clients. Each client is different, with morning visits getting people out of bed and feeding them breakfast, lunch time visits can be more about companionship, with evening visits a time to ensure everyone is ready for bed and happy to settle for the evening. I was so scared of changing jobs after 18 years working in retail, however over the past 12 months I’ve built up some amazing relationships with my clients and I know they are so pleased to see me when I visit them in their home. The company has a real open-door policy - all the carers meet on regular basis, and discuss ideas, improvements, clients and have a general catch up over a cuppa. The role is different every day as you are dealing with people and building trust, but it’s so rewarding and I would thoroughly recommend Wilnash – a great family feel company, who have given me the confidence and skills I need to carry out this role. On becoming an independent social enterprise, we went on to deliver large-scale neighbourhood regeneration programmes like the Single Regeneration Budget, New Deal for Communities and Neighbourhood Renewal Funding. In 2011 Renaisi was part of the consortium that set up the Big Local programme. Our role managing the ‘reps’ took us beyond London and allowed us to bring together the two halves of our expertise; supporting communities and social research. Alongside that national work we delivered services in Islington, Haringey and Hackney that helped migrant communities get the most out of the local school system. While the policy and funding landscape has changed a lot in the last 20+ years, ‘place’ has remained the lens we use to consider our work. Gemma currently teaches Street, Freestyle, Musical Theatre / Drama and Ballroom / Latin classes with the support of other teachers and dance coaches. Gemma is continuing to develop her own personal portfolio whilst supporting other students and trainee teachers along their own dance pathways. Current qualifications include: Fellow with the IDTA with qualifications in Freestyle, Latin, Ballroom, Rock 'n' Roll and Musical Theatre; ABD Acrobatic Dance, IDTA Anatomy and Physiology Diploma. Emily has been dancing from the tender age of 3 with experience in ballet and tap as well as the above mentioned styles and is keen to share her knowledge and enthusiasm with other dancers. Her degree in education and special needs is just another asset she brings to our academy, further enhancing our inclusivity policy. DBS checked annually and First Aid trained. Jordanne Wood, Teacher Jordanne has been dancing since she was 2 years old with experience in all theatre subjects including ballet, tap, theatre craft, modern jazz, acro gymnastics and cheerleading. She attended the Pattisons College of Performing Arts in Coventry. She soon went on to complete her IDTA professional qualifications and then went into teaching full time. She also has a young child of her own bringing her maternal instincts into class. Like many of our teachers, Jordanne is continuing to work through more IDTA dance qualifications whilst she is teaching with the aim of eventually becoming an IDTA examiner. Jordanne's current qualifications include associate with the IDTA in Freestyle, Ballet, Tap and Modern Jazz; BGU level 4 in Cheerleading. DBS checked and First Aid trained. Liam Pincher, Teacher Liam began his dance journey as a contemporary dancer, but slowly moved to street dance styles the more he learned about them.This took him to study an urban dance course in London, and even to study Urban Dance in America! Over the years, he has gained experience in a variety of street dance styles including hip hop, House, popping, locking, and breaking all whilst experiencing battle culture, performance opportunities and teaching. He's always very excited to have the opportunity to share everything he's learned with fellow dancers and has already made a positive impact on many of our students. DBS checked and First Aid trained. Emily Hunt, Teacher Emily started dancing at the age of three in Ballet, Tap and Jazz, gaining medals and performing in regular shows with her sister. Progressing through medals and competitions, Emily became a finalist in the 'British Amateur Junior Modern Sequence' at the age 14. Leaving the competition world behind she began studies for her Pre-Associate exam in 2010 where she won the 'Bill Tasker Award' before proceeding on to her Associate exams where she was nominated for the 'John Dilworth Award'. Emily has a 2:1 Ba Hons degree in 'Professional Dance Teaching' from Buckinghamshire New University as well as her IDTA professional awards. Her specialism is Classical Sequence but she is also an experienced Ballroom, Latin and Freestyle teacher. DBS checked and First Aid trained. Dance Coaches We are really lucky to have a group of amazing volunteers who assist with our classes. Aged only 12-18, these girls have a fabulous rapport with our other students and can be essential in making new members feel welcome and helping less experienced dancers with steps. They all undergo First Aid Training and have DBS checks at the appropriate age.

Peter Reznikov has dedicated his entire professional life to excellence in education. After graduating from Moscow State Linguistic University in 1991, he was invited to work in the UK as a teacher of Russian and in the same year he opened his educational consultancy PRINCE (Peter Reznikov International Centre for Education) which, for more than 25 years, has been helping children from all over the world gain access to the UK’s leading private schools, colleges and universities. Throughout his 25 year career in British education, Peter has taught in various private and state schools teaching both boys and girls. In 1998 he became the Head of the Russian Department at Eton College, the first Russian national to do so in the prestigious school’s 575 year history. In his 17 years at the helm of the Russian department at Eton (1998-2015) the number of students studying Russian rose from just 13 to 130. More than 50 of them successfully gained a place at Oxford and Cambridge Universities, as well as other leading Universities in the UK, USA, France, Holland and Germany. Peter also worked for the London Examination Board (currently EDEXCEL) for over 10 years, starting as a script-marker and becoming a Principal Examiner setting papers and overseeing the marking teams, as well as monitoring the overall quality and comparability of the GCSE and A-level Russian examinations which are widely used in the UK and in British schools abroad. Peter is the author of a number of Russian teaching materials and articles on Russian language, literature and cinema. He has co-authored several Russian text-books which are widely used by teachers and students in the UK and abroad. He has made appearances on Russian and British television, Internet, radio and other mainstream media sources on a variety of educational issues. He actively follows the rapidly-changing world of educational thinking and policy, regularly visits different schools, colleges and Universities in the United Kingdom and other countries and his PRINCE continues to provide educational services to people from over 20 countries.

Sian Williams VICE CHAIR SIAN WILLIAMS Sian Williams is Head of National Services at Toynbee Hall in London’s East End. Sian has been responsible for Toynbee Hall’s local and national financial inclusion programmes since October 2009, including Transact (the UK’s national forum for financial inclusion), financial inclusion training, research, evaluation and strategic consultancy. Sian takes a whole systems approach to financial well-being, supporting organisations to develop policies and practice which make it easier for people to make the most of their money. She has co-led the Financially Inclusive Tower Hamlets programme, which adopts this environmental approach within one of the UK’s most deprived communities. Sian’s team have also created a ground-breaking needs and impact digital measurement tool for financial health, the MAP Tool, to fill the gaps around knowing “what works” in financial health interventions. Sian provides advice on financial inclusion to financial services providers, and is a member of advisory groups for the Payments Council, the LINK Scheme, the BBA, DWP, HMT and the Big Lottery. Sian is also a member of the new PSR Panel, and a trustee for the Money Advice Trust.
