We've been blessed to use photography and film to get us into all sorts of fun adventures. Along the way we’ve experienced some pretty cool stuff and met a load of special people from diverse backgrounds. But our photography path has been much greater than taking pictures and being published. Oh, we don't NOT like seeing our name to our work in print but photography is more than that. Photography is to communication what flour is to a baker - a major ingredient which is the base for producing so many other things. We would argue that photography is one stepping stone along a path of discovery to a variety of exciting study and career opportunities. I've taken other photography classes, but nothing compared to what I learned from the classes I took at Henry's. I looked forward to taking them each week. Jim, the instructor, was very knowledgeable, patient and explained the material with great detail. He took the time to fully answer any questions we had and provided quality feedback about my photography. Since taking the classes, everyone noticed the great improvement of my photos, and I'm more excited than ever to trying new things with the photography techniques I've learned. The other students in the class I was in also enjoyed it as much as I did, so much so that almost everyone took the more advanced classes together. Now, I no longer rely on the auto-mode on my camera and enjoy tweaking the setting and seeing the improvement of my photos. The classes and the expert instruction gave me the opportunities to see what potential my camera has and what setting work best in any given environment. I can't stress enough how many compliments on the improvement of my photos when posting on Facebook. My photos really now capture what I'm seeing, instead of dull version of real life. My only disappointment is that there's no more classes left for me to take. To anyone who wants to take their photography to the next level, The courses at Henry's Toronto are for you. But I took the leap and signed up for Henry's 101 course with Jim Ogilvie. It was the best decision I made. Jim was great at explaining and demonstrating the various aspects of photography - I was amazed at how much we covered in 5 weeks. There’s no replacement for having an instructor walk you through concepts and answer your questions directly. I was so pleased that I signed up for 201 course with Jim and it was even better! I recommend both courses, whether you are brand new to photography or, like me, are self-taught and you know there may be some gaps. Adobe Certified Expert & Instructor | BA | MSc I have over 15 years of working experience in Design, Photography and Media, allowing me to maintain a wide variety of skills that assist in supporting students, professionals and enthusiasts involved in the Creative industries. Currently, I'm freelancing and teaching MSc Design at the University of Edinburgh. Since I started teaching in 2013, I have taught other educators, art directors, creative professionals but also students of all ages (5 to 75!) and abilities, including individuals with learning and behavioural difficulties. Moreover, I have delivered bespoke Adobe creative training for clients such as the BBC, SKY, WWF, NHS, ILGA, Roche, The National Gallery and several Universities and Colleges. Since 2015 I've continuously been one of the very few Adobe Certified Instructors and Experts. Because of my comprehensive knowledge of the Adobe software and digital media theory, I received a series of certifications from Adobe, such as Educator Specialist in Visual and Video Design, Digital Imaging and Digital Creativity Expert for classrooms, Expert in Digital Media and Creativity Training and Adobe Education Trainer, accrediting me to train other educators. I have achieved an MSc in Design and Digital Media (with distinction) from the University of Edinburgh, where I chose to work with 3D, Motion Graphics, VFX, UI/UX, Video Game Design and AR/VR. I specialised in VR experiences made with Unreal Engine and particle systems. My latest experience is focused on delivering lessons and lectures in Digital Media and Visual Arts as well as my freelance projects.
