LD Training provides access education qualification opportunities within a flexible delivery model that enables students to develop the knowledge and skills necessary to achieve their professional goals, improve the productivity of their organisations and provide leadership and service to their communities, as stated within the mission of the organisation. Over the past 12 years, LD Training has successfully delivered over 12000 qualifications, across various sectors including; business; management; health and social care; early years; education; hospitality; retail; construction and functional skills, from Entry level through to Level 5 and specialises in providing education to hard to reach communities. Having become a well-established organisation in the Government funded training sector, LD Training diversified into tertiary education in 2019 in order to strengthen its portfolio and to provide ongoing career progression opportunities for our alumni. In this regard, LDT secured a collaborative partnership agreement with Leeds Trinity University to offer a BA (Hons) Business and Management with a Foundation Year in Business from September 2019 at our campuses in London (Stanmore), Dudley and Nottingham. Following the successful delivery of our Leeds Trinity Partnership, we were successful in our approach to the University of Suffolk for a second collaborative partnership in order to provide our students with a greater choice of education pathway utilising a Foundation Year. LD Training (LDT) firmly believe in lifelong learning, and that everyone should have the opportunity to further their education, chase their dreams and be given a supportive and accommodating environment in which to flourish. As such we believe offering the opportunity to access higher education via a student focused and flexible delivery method to our students and the wider community provides the opportunity of continued education to all, no matter of their background. The New School is a centre of excellence for training and research in existential psychotherapy, counselling psychology, pastoral care, autism, diversity and coaching. It has attracted many experienced and creative teachers and trainers as well as numerous research supervisors with a record of original research publications in the field. It was founded and established by Prof. Emmy van Deurzen, an international authority on existential therapy, psychologist, philosopher and author of many seminal texts in the field, together with Prof. Digby Tantam, an eminent psychotherapist, philosopher, researcher and influential author in the field of autism. Emmy previously founded the School of Psychotherapy at Regent’s College as well as the Society for Existential Analysis and ensured that the New School courses would be deeply rooted in the tradition of continental philosophy. NSPC offers joint psychotherapy and counselling psychology doctoral programmes with Middlesex University with the option of post-graduate diploma and masters exits. It also offers a masters’ course in existential coaching, two online MSc programmes, a foundation course, short courses, one day workshops and numerous introductory courses. It has a unique online programme, the septimus courses, which are integrated with the doctoral programme, or can be taken as stand-alone modules. It is a unique and dynamic institution, which affords its students the opportunity to pursue their personal and professional interests and establish their chosen careers through theoretical and skills training, alongside supported placements and research. My name is Ian Flint and I am a pianist and piano teacher with over 25 years professional experience in music. After reaching the semi-finals of the “BBC Young Musician of the Year” competition, I went on to study for six years at the Royal Northern College of Music with the renowned Russian pedagogue Sulamita Aronovsky (founder of the London International Piano Competition). Therefore there is something of the so-called ‘Russian School’ in my musical DNA, with its focus on richness of sound coupled with economy and effectiveness of physical movement. During this period I appeared frequently as solo recitalist, chamber musician and concerto soloist in concert series and festivals, with a wide repertoire including major works by Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Chopin, Liszt, Debussy, Ravel, Rachmaninov, Shostakovich, Stravinsky, Barber etc. I also took part in masterclasses with Paul Badura-Skoda and Denis Matthews. For my post-graduate studies I was awarded a scholarship from the Countess of Munster Trust. These two years continued the focus on piano performance, combined with a thesis (a re-evaluation of Rachmaninov’s 1st and 4th Piano Concertos). It was also at the RNCM where I gained my first experience of teaching the piano, which I have carried on since, in combination with a career in the music publishing industry. My former company (Edition Peters) collaborated on various projects with the two main examination organisations, Associated Board (gb.abrsm.org) and Trinity (www.trinitycollege.co.uk), which gave me a valuable insight into the philosophy of the examination systems. In recent years I have given piano performances and lecture-recitals for “The Rachmaninoff Society” in several countries, in venues such as London’s South Bank Centre and New York’s Juilliard School.
