Hayley and her husband Dave opened up their independent funeral director
business in December 2015 at a small premises on Boroughbridge Road. It didn't
take long to establish themselves in the local area and they soon outgrew the
premises. In June 2019 they bought what was once Kutter's and Shannon's lawn
mower and bicycle shop just over the road, and moved premises in August 2019.
Over the years Hayley Owen Funeral Director's has become a real family affair.
For the first few years Hayley's dad Pete helped with pall bearing and driving,
whilst her sister Heidi worked in the office part-time. In June 2020 Dave's twin
brother Gary joined the team to help with the increased business, followed by
Gary's wife Patience in January 2021. Becoming both well known and well
established in York and the surrounding communities has meant further staff
members joining the company including Matthew, Beth and Angela along with a
reliable team of pall bearers. We are also open to work experience placements
for people interested in gaining an insight into the funeral industry.
