I suppose you can say that I am a constant learner, starting my career as a Make-Up Artist/Beauty Therapist, completing a degree and post graduate diploma in The Chartered Institute of Marketing and settling into the corporate world of marketing and advertising. Then after having a family, training as a yoga teacher, holistic therapy tutor and it didn't stop there! I just love to learn and share this with others. Aromatherapy Consultation & Custom Blending Service £30 for a 30 minute session – includes an aromatherapy product designed specifically to address your symptoms or needs, with personal instructions for use. Click here to book a session. Private consultations can be arranged in person, by telephone, zoom, skype or email. The session will require you to fill out a confidential client information & consent form in advance and will involve up to 30 minutes of dedicated consultation time. A personal blend will then be designed and made to support your personal needs. This is posted to you with instructions on use. This session is suitable for anyone interested in using essential oils or aromatherapy products to support their health & wellbeing. Essential oils are powerful tools that can support us in diverse ways, from serious chronic illness, to day to day nurturing. Symptoms & conditions that aromatherapy products can help with include: scar care, arthritis, aches & pains stress & anxiety nausea (very helpful during pregnancy). sensitive skin, eczema respiratory conditions, colds, coughs, asthma Products that can be made to support after the session include: bath and body oils, face creams, cleansers & oils, balms, roll-on perfumes, inhaler sticks, pure essential oil for use in diffusers. Once you purchase your session you will be sent a link to book your time slot and confirm if you are able to join with zoom or an alternative method. The Cromwell Museum is home to the best collection of items relating to the life and times of Oliver Cromwell on public display anywhere in the world. The collection comprises over 800 items, including portraits, clothing, miniatures, arms and armour, historical documents written by or about Cromwell, and displays as diverse items as copies of his death masks and even his hat!  The Museum is located in the former Huntingdon Grammar School building, which was where Oliver Cromwell was educated as a schoolboy. The building itself is all that remains of a medieval hospital, built to provide hospitality for travellers and pilgrims in the 12th century. It was also where the young Samuel Pepys was educated in the 1640s. The Museum tells the story of Cromwell’s life, from his time at the school and his early years in Huntingdon and St Ives, before he became involved in national politics. On display you can see the vestry book of the parish of St Ives, which includes his signature, and some of his possessions, including his hat. By contrast, the Museum’s exhibits include luxurious items given to Cromwell later in life, including a magnificent Florentine perfume cabinet, which was a gift from the Grand Duke of Tuscany; and a 17th century medicine chest still with its surgical instruments and tools, which Cromwell is said to have taken on campaign with him.  We also tell the story of Cromwell’s military career, and have several of his swords displayed alongside other weapons, arms and armour of the English Civil War. Displays also include many original and iconic paintings of Cromwell, his family, his political and military contemporaries and of events relating to the Civil War, by the great artists of the period including Robert Walker, Sir Peter Lely, William Dobson and Samuel Cooper.  Our displays look at more than simply Cromwell himself; they also examine his impact and legacy right through to our own times. The Museum cares for an impressive collection of drawings and cartoons including works by Gerald Scarfe and Quentin Blake.  It is impossible to show everything in the Museum so exhibits are regularly changed. Our role is not to praise or condemn Cromwell. He is a controversial figure to many; our role is simply to present the facts and various interpretations of his life, telling his story 'warts and all' and allow visitors to make their own minds up about him.  Visitors can see more through our programme of regular temporary exhibitions and events throughout the year; we also offer tours and activities for groups and schools. The Museum is operated by an independent charity, the Cromwell Museum Trust.

Urban Botanical is a Botanical Design Service based in Dundee. Our bespoke service offers beautiful, romantic, naturally styled botanicals for your wedding or event. I established in 2016 Urban Botanical, my intention was to approach floristry from a fresh perspective, one not bound by rules or code. My background is in Fine Art having graduated with a BA Hons in Fine Art from Duncan of Jordanstone then continuing on to gain a Master’s degree in Art History from St Andrews University. After University I worked as a freelance Arts Educator running workshops in DCA and McManus Galleries for a few years prior to working in floristry. By 2015 I was working in a local florist, my second florist job but my urge to push the forbidden boundaries and explore the ‘frowned’ upon often caused disagreement. My background in Fine Art influences my approach to floristry, often problem-solving in a different manner from the ‘old fashioned’ or ‘traditional methods’ of floristry. The floristry that excited me was different, it was modern..… arty.. I decided then I had to find my own group of like-minded artist type florists. Through ‘The Glasgow Flower School’ I came to meet Jay Archer – Multi-award-winning florist Jay is known for championing British-grown, sustainable and seasonal flowers, and is widely respected within the wedding and floral industry. Jay talked about largely being self-taught, her work was beautiful, I was in love.. I finally found the definition of ‘floristry’ that I fitted into. My confidence started to grow and I started to really believe in myself but also I realised that just like Art, Floristry is subjective and not everyone will like what I like. During my final year at Art School, we learned the basics of being a ‘self-employed’ artist, learning things like how to quote and price a particular job based on materials, design, and execution which has obviously helped me a lot, also things like Brand Identity, bookkeeping, and accounts. Brand identity or brand ethos for me is something of a journey, constantly defining the things that are important to me, for what I want Urban Botanical to look like, what it represents. Whilst Urban Botanical is my career it is also my lifestyle. Country forage walks with my children is just normal for us, as is collecting ‘pretty weeds’ and wildflowers. Throughout the spring and summer, my ethos is to mainly use locally grown flowers, greenery, and herbs some of which produce the most delicate flowers as well as scent which is an important factor in my bridal work. Scent can evoke memories which is where my love for flowers started as a little girl picking flowers in my parent’s garden, making perfume, and potions. Do I like my job? YES – I love my job, working with nature, and the seasons is something I never realised I would love so much.
