Coaching careers very much focus on elite sport, but we recognise that we need to give young people a broad, high quality experience to ensure they want to pursue sport and physical activity as they get older. We now share our vision across several different areas of the country. Sporting Influence was founded in 2012 with two key aims: To improve the standard of teaching and opportunities in Primary School Sport. To improve key Social Skills through Sport. At Sporting Influence, we firmly believe that teaching sport correctly gives children the best chance in school to develop a positive attitude towards a healthy lifestyle and the potential to move into secondary school with those important social skills. Our drive to develop well rounded and healthy children is at the core of everything that we do, in every lesson, after-school club, competition or day at our holiday camps. Since the business started we have recruited and invested in our team of teachers and I can confidently say that we have one of the strongest most dedicated teams of experienced professionals across Yorkshire. We are excited to launch our Sporting Influence CIC Foundation fully in 2022 and look forward to making a big difference in the community to children and families in need of extra support. We are proud to say that we now work with: Over 35 schools every week, predominantly working alongside the school’s teaching team to improve their skill set and confidence. We work directly with over 2000 children every week. Our holiday activity Camps continue to grow with over 3,500 children attending over the course of last year.

A Level Results Day 2024 saw significant improvement with the proportion of students securing top grades (A* to B) rising by 6% to 58%. 83% of all grades were A* to C (up 8%) providing a strong foundation as students go on to higher education and the world of work. A record number of students will start degree courses at universities including UCL and Oxford. Over half of students have secured places at Russell Group or top 25 ranked UK Universities, and they will complete their studies in subjects ranging from Mechanical Engineering to PPE, and from Design to Psychology. The number of students going on to study either Law or Medicine has increased, showcasing the impact of the school’s Pathways Programmes. Other students hold places on competitive and prestigious degree apprenticeships. We run Longtown Outdoor Centre in the Brecon Beacons and HerefordshireSince 1964 Longtown Outdoor Centre has been providing schools and youth groups with adventurous activity breaks from our 16 acre site on the Herefordshire and Monmouthshire border. Off-site activities including Caving, Hill Walking, Rock Climbing and Gorge walking take place in the nearby Brecon Beacons and Black Mountains. Our 16 acre site is made up of gardens, farmland and woodland with spectacular views over surrounding hills and mountains. Our range of onsite activities include Archery, Rock Climbing Tower, Kayak training pool, Stand up Paddleboarding, Raft building, Low Ropes Course, High Ropes Course plus an internal traverse wall
