Oaks Childcare is registered with Ofsted and has been operating since October 2010. We have been recently inspected by ofsted and we were very happy to receive an outstanding report. We are a child minding service which provides full day care for children from three months old. We also offer after school and holiday care. We run our service in the ground floor of our home which is located close to central Croydon and well served by public transport links. We will be registered to care for up to eight children two of which can be under the age of one year. The down stairs of our home is solely used for childcare purposes. We are open from seven thirty to six o'clock, Monday to Friday and one Saturday in three. We will be following the current Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework which is a curriculum from birth to five. She has a shelf full of business awards and was in the top 100 UK female entrepreneurs list by F:entrepeneur as well as being a best selling author in the book ‘Inspirational Women Of The World’ “My life purpose is to save lives” Prior to creating her business Jenni was a police officer in London and experienced a vast number of real first aid emergencies including treating casualties at Edgware Road tube station during its bombing in 2005. In 2014 Jenni (a mum of 3) was sitting in a coffee shop chatting with a friend when her friend’s daughter choked, being an advanced first aider, Jenni knew just what to do. She quickly stepped in and successfully removed the blockage and the little girl recovered perfectly. It was this moment that she realised then that first aid was not something regularly offered to new parents and that so many parents didn’t have basic first aid skills that could so easily save their child’s life. When researching suitable first aid training classes she found that parents were restricted to longer certified classes aimed at the corporate market who often showed frightening videos and told distressing stories. She is the owner of Training Legs First Aid [https://www.linkedin.com/company/training-legs-first-aid/], founder of the ‘Bra Off Defib On’ charity, lead trainer for First Aid for Mental Health and co-founder of the First Aid Facilitators Forum. Training Legs First Aid specialises in First Aid at Work, Paediatric First Aid, and First Aid for Mental Health. The sessions are interactive, fun, and encourage participation. With my friendly approach, I aims to build confidence and competence in responding to medical emergencies. My experienced and highly qualified team has trained over a thousand people in lifesaving skills, and are passionate about what they teach. I am the proud founder of the ‘Bra Off Defib On’ charity set up in 2023 to educate on the importance of removing a bra when using a defib and how to help women and bra wearers in a cardiac arrest emergency.
