The One Community Trust (OCT) was created in September 2019 and currently consists of 4 primary schools, plus 5 Local Authority Designated Provisions sited at two of our schools. All schools received their Academy Orders on the same date and all converted on the same date. The Trust is a limited company by guarantee and is registered in England. The main purpose of the Trust is to be a place where schools (convertor or sponsor) can work collaboratively to be the best they can be. To support the well-being and development of staff so that they constantly perform to a high level and retention remains high. All schools are currently judged Good by Ofsted and we want to maintain our good judgements and ultimately strive for outstanding status. We are also passionate about enabling the sharing of best practice and achieving the economies of scale across the group of schools’ ensuring the very best value for money. The aim is for all schools in the Trust to be successful, self-governing schools providing the very best education for the children in its care. Welcome to the Ark Academy website. Ark Academy is an all through school that offers excellent learning from nursery through to higher education. In an all through school, school parents can expect their son/daughter to transfer seamlessly from primary to secondary school. We now have three years of Ark primary students who have transferred to secondary. We are one and share the same values and expectations. Our aim is to ensure that all our pupils develop as high achieving, confident, articulate young people whose education fully equips them to go on to university or the career of their choice and this starts from an early age. Ofsted have stated: “A great deal of work has brought about a new school that has quickly established high expectations and secured impressive progress in the short period since opening. Pupils make outstanding progress in their studies.” We are very ambitious for all our pupils and believe that our emphasis on the study of subjects in depth is a key feature of our success. From 3.30 to 4.30pm we also enrich our offer with a wide variety of activities, from extra sports and clubs to extended support for literacy, mathematics and science. We also spend a great deal of time ensuring that as teachers we are well prepared and continuously learning and enhancing how we teach in order to extend our students.

From the pioneering 'Keepers of the Green' that tended the historic links at St Andrews, Prestwick and Musselburgh to today's highly-skilled and dynamic course managers at the UK's top golfing venues, greenkeepers have shaped and defined this wonderful sport. Every step of the way, there has been an association providing them with support, education and advice. In January 1987 the British and International Golf Greenkeepers Association (BIGGA) was created due to an amalgamation of the British Golf Greenkeepers Association, The English and International Golf Greenkeepers Association and The Scottish and International Golf Greenkeepers Association. Since then, we've shone a light for the nation's greenkeepers, and 6,000 turf professionals from the United Kingdom and further afield are proud to call themselves BIGGA members. Now over 30 years old, the British and International Golf Greenkeepers Association is Europe's largest membership greenkeeping association. BIGGA has made outstanding progress to reach its position as a well-respected and integral part of the golf and turf industries. This progress is due to the dedication of very many members who have contributed voluntarily through committee work and support of BIGGA activity, as well as the team of staff based at BIGGA House and in the Regions. The Association was formed to support greenkeepers and greenkeeping and provide a unified voice for the profession.
