I would highly recommend Sheena to anyone looking for learning support. Vicky Austin‎ to One to Learn10 September 2017 · Thankyou sheena for getting Rebecca Evans through her gcse maths successfully. As you know, she struggled badly with the simplest concepts. Taking her back to basics and repeating tasks really worked for her. It’s nothing short of a miracle. Your help was priceless. X ‎Rebecca Turner‎ to One to Learn1 July 2016 · My son has becoming to Sheena for lessons in maths and literacy for over a year. He has ASD and ADHD and Sheena has been brilliant with him. She has helped to consolidate his core skills (which he had some big gaps in) and taught him lots of new skills! She is very patient and paces the lessons very well and manages my son’s ASD needs very well. Since Morgan started with you as her tutor her confidence and her ability has increased beyond belief. Not only has she gained confidence in her ability academically, she has gained confidence in herself. She has now finished her Hickey Multi-Sensory system, but is continuing with her tutoring as it has turned around her whole outlook on learning. We intend to keep her in your tuition to support her as she moves through to year 8 and on-wards. Thank you for all your help over the last 2 years to improve her percentile from 20 to 47 Great work! I would recommend (and have already recommended) your services to anyone who has need of extra educational support. Thank you again. (Joanna Jones 2016) Sheena McKay quickly put my autistic son at ease during the diagnostic tests that she did. Her teaching skills are outstanding – I would highly recommend her. (A Jones 21 July 2012) Sheena provides a safe, caring teaching environment that complements our childrens’ primary education that continues to exceed our expectations. ( J.G.2012) The best thing that ever happened for my daughter was me contacting Sheena (Mrs C. Morgan) We have been very pleased with your commitment and approach to Charlie’s education. The fact that I have never for one moment felt the need to question your teaching and ideas, speaks for itself, and it has been a period in Charlie’s life where we have been confident that he is getting the best opportunity and individual attention possible. Sue Edwards Teague. (July 2010) Luke has grown and developed, his speech and language has improved immensely and he is leaving his first year a very happy and confident 4 year old and we believe that you were very valuable to that. She was always there at the end of school to put time aside for any parent, no matter what the problem. Mrs Jan Phillips (Sept. 2010) Sheena teaches with ease, knowledge and, more importantly for a young boy whom is easily distracted, with humour and fun. (Mr N. Altrincham College

As Headteacher of Altrincham College I count myself very fortunate to be leading a happy school where all members of our community are valued for the contributions they make, enabling them to flourish in complex and demanding times. Together we provide an environment where learning is actively sought and highly prized by students and staff, energising them to improve further and releasing the positive energy that naturally exists within all people. I believe that outstanding teaching leads to outstanding learning which has a direct impact on behaviour, attendance and staff and student well-being. As we move forward, we will maintain a sharp focus on the quality of teaching in the classroom, in assemblies and in extra-curricular activities in order to ensure all-round rapid academic progress for years to come through creativity and innovation. We know that when children and young people feel safe, cared for and have a positive outlook on life, they are able to learn. Not only do they learn but they learn well and work diligently. I believe this environment has been established at our school however we cannot rest on our laurels; the best must be maintained and the rest built upon further as students’ differing needs must be catered for to the best of our ability. As Headteacher I will work hard to ensure that Altrincham College provides and accesses as much support as possible for our students and their families so that we continue to remove barriers to learning. Students who attend our school are immersed in an exciting, well-rounded education; they are able to access a curriculum where they have fun and which sets them up for achieving excellent outcomes for themselves, establishing them as lifelong learners and future leaders in whatever field they choose to go into; they are free to question, nurturing their curious minds and they take educational risks in order to make sense of the world. Altrincham College provides children and young people with a disciplined, supportive environment within which they can be themselves and achieve anything they put their minds to.

UK GLOBAL LEARNING ASSOCIATION FOR SCHOOLS (UKGLAS) is a co-operative network which exists to support a range of professionals who have a role in supporting the international and/or global dimension in education. The Association was founded in 1996 and until 2008 was known as UKAEIES (UK Association for European and International Education in Schools). UKGLAS is registered as a charity in the UK (registration number: 1063668). The overall mission of the Association is to support the membership as they work with schools and school networks of all types to develop an international outlook and prepare their learners for life in an increasingly globalised society. Regular inputs from these organisations and opportunities for networking are part of the benefits of membership. The current membership of around 25 includes personnel working in a range of over-lapping contexts. They include international education consultants, Local Authority international co-ordinators and advisers, workers from Development Education Centres and languages specialists. Prior to the 2019 UKGLAS held regular meetings (usually three per annum in London) plus an annual conference. During the pandemic these meetings and conferences were held online. We resumed face to face meetings (with optional virtual attendance) on 18th October 2022. Please see the Membership and Meetings pages for details GLOBAL LEARNING ASSOCIATION (GLA) is the not-for-profit trading arm of UKGLAS established in 2012 (Company number 7468905). The GLA has been part of several British Council programmes including all the iterations of Connecting Classrooms. We also held the contract for the assessment of the International School Award up to August 2022 and look forward to bidding into a successor contract in the coming weeks. Our EU work included many Key Action 1 training courses and we hope to re-start these outside of the UK in 2023. We currently manage one of the final EU Erasmus + projects – see www.getcreativewithart.org Many of our Associates are also British Council Ambassadors.

Children Of Potentials International

London

Children of Potentials International, operating as Children of Potentials, abbreviated as CoP is a not-for-profit organisation with international outlook. It is incorporated in England and Wales as a charity for tax purposes. CoP’s international ambition to reach every child everywhere mean we work independently and collaboratively with other independent organisations with a shared aims, objectives and aspirations. In Ghana, the organisation operates independently as well as have joint-working with Children of Potentials Charity (CoPC) which is incorporated and recognised as an NGO, regulated by the country’s Department of Social Welfare. In Malawi, CoP has joint-working programmes with Centre For Childrens Affairs Malawi, an organisation working with children within Chikwawa area and throughout the country to raise educational outcomes and create awareness about issues affecting the welfare of children. Mission Statement Children of Potentials (CoP) believes that children possess enormous potential and abilities which should not be lost to themselves or the wider society due to lack of support and direction in utilizing such inherent traits. In this regard, CoP seeks to identify and support children, especially in poor communities to high levels of attainment in their education, health and socio-economic circumstances . Our Vision and Belief We live in a world where some have more than they need, adequate to meet their needs, or little or nothing to meet their needs. We believe that these would continue to be the case for a long time into the future. We also believe that individuals, civil societies and governments have made the efforts to alter the status quo by promoting a balanced and equitable world systems. For example the amount of aid given by rich countries, organisations, as well as individual remittances have lifted millions of families in poor countries out of abject poverty. But this is not sustainable as their benefactors face economic challenges of their own. In recent times, the amounts of aid to developing countries show a marked decline in real terms. Our vision is to see a society where children in poor communities are empowered to provide for themselves and their families in future instead of being trapped in a culture of reliance on assistance. We believe this can be achieved through their foundation education, and good health provisions. CoP is determined to be part of the process by sensitising and bringing this issue to the forefront of all children issues

For over 2 decades I’ve been supporting my clients in their health and wellbeing through various forms of massage and healing. I offer effective treatments in my clinic and stimulating education in the classroom. Leaving my past life as a graphic designer, I went back to college and studied Aromatherapy. Fast forward many years and experiences, I have gone on to train in Abdominal Therapy, Reflexology, Reiki, Indian Head Massage, Thai Yoga Massage and On-Site Acupressure Chair Massage (Amma Massage). Constantly striving to improve my skills has lead me to various exotic places, from the Thai jungle, rainforests of Central America, throughout North America, and then the rolling hills in Surrey, UK. I first learned about Abdominal Therapy in 2004, after a chance meeting with Dr. Rosita Arvigo, whilst on holiday in Belize, Central America. This inspired me to seek Abdominal Therapy when I returned home to the UK. Driven by personal health issues, I received regular treatments which supported and reframed my attitude to my own pelvic health. Abdominal Therapy not only transformed my health, but also my outlook on life. Years later, and after working with hundreds of clients, I now teach Abdominal Therapy, running workshops at personal and professional level, both in person and online specialising in the art of gaining and maintaining abdominal health. I run Abdominal workshops for those who seek a deeper understanding and healing from digestive or pelvic issues, and train professional therapists in the art of Abdominal Therapy within The Abdominal Therapy Collective. I was a graphic designer for 15 years, immersed in the discipline of explaining concepts, products and events in a way that was easy to understand and visually striking, I bring these qualities to my teaching, always seeking simple and effective ways to explain healing concepts and methods to my students. I have created a beautiful haven for healing and learning in my home in leafy Twickenham, South West London, UK. Offering treatments at the top of my home in my cocoon-like therapy room, and a fun and engaging workshop space at the bottom, in my kitchen and garden studio. My passion for pelvic health education draws me near and far, for those seeking personal healing or professional growth alike. I’d love to chat with you if you'd like to host a workshop for your community or attend one that’s already listed. Click below and I’ll get back to you soon.
