My personal philosophy of education is rooted in experiential learning. As a keen naturalist, walker and ultra runner I can be found most weekends following a road less travelled in Snowdonia, the Peak District or Cumbria. I have also undertaken extensive Bushcraft, Survival and Wilderness living training (see My CPD section for full details). Catering for all ages from Primary to GCSE level and adults, here at Global Learners Academy we are teachers who understand that everyone is different and that every need is important.  We understand the pressures of every day life upon families and the highly increasing need for them to support their loved ones in education - at whatever age they to come to it.  We aim to provide only the assistance and guidance that is absolutely necessary for each individual to succeed to the best of their ability. In our first meetings we will carry out a thorough assessment of the learner's reading, mathematics and literacy (including grammar) ability. From that, we will carry out an extensive gap analysis to ascertain where gaps and weaknesses are in their core knowledge of the English National Curriculum principles.  We will then provide you with a full report of these strengths and weaknesses with suggestions for the most appropriate package for them. All of our teachers that carry out the asessment are trained and experienced practitioners in the English National Curriculum, so designing a high quality package that is individually tailored to the learner's needs is something that we can provide.  You can choose from the full courses on offer or opt to pay per session using the book now feature.

Inaura School is an independent, co-educational special school for pupils who have complex educational, social, emotional and mental health needs. The school has 3 education learning bases located in the county of Somerset. We provide student educational day placements for Somerset and the surrounding local authorities including: Bath and North East Somerset, Bristol, Devon, North Somerset and Wiltshire. Our Key Stage 2-3 learning base is located in Wedmore. Our Centre for Outreach and Outdoor Learning is located near Godney, Wells while our two Key Stage 3, 4 and 5 learning bases are located in Burrowbridge and near Godney, Wells. All of our students have Education Health and Care Plans and are placed with us through their local authority SEND departments. We work with students who have encountered challenges in mainstream, pupil referral units and other special school settings. Many of our students have experienced failure in multiple educational settings. That is why we do things a little differently. Our approach encompasses a relational and non-coercive philosophy for teaching and learning. This philosophy focuses on building trust and systematically removing the barriers that pupils have previously encountered in their learning journeys.

Many participants are signposted to other Action4Youth programmes on a pathway to opportunities they did not believe were possible through disadvantage or disability. Leadership and Training We provide valuable leadership and training to our membership organisations: around 70 local voluntary youth groups so that they can operate effectively to safeguard the young people of their communities. Courses include safeguarding, diversity and inclusion, health and safety and others. Outdoor Learning Additionally, we operate an outstanding outdoor learning centre, Caldecotte Xperience, in Milton Keynes which offers a range of adventure learning activities that deliver measurable improvements in educational attainment, as well as building teamwork, bonding and trust. It is the leading centre in the region for young people with complex needs, with SEND trained staff and specialist equipment that enable those with disabilities to learn new skills in a safe and supportive environment.
