I have come across a whole range of behaviours I now run an alternative provision setting in a mainstream school as well as managing the SEMH needs of the school. In my training school, you can expect to receive high-level coaching that takes you on a journey on improving your understanding and implementation of behaviour support tools that actually work long term. I believe in a coaching model that provides evidence-based approaches without telling you what to do. Open Yale Courses (OYC) provides lectures and other materials from selected Yale College courses to the public free of charge via the Internet. The courses span the full range of liberal arts disciplines, including humanities, social sciences, and physical and biological sciences. Registration is not required No course credit, degree, or certificate is available through the Open Yale Courses website. The online courses are designed for a wide range of people around the world, among them self-directed and life-long learners, educators, and high school and college students. The integrated, highly flexible web interface allows users, in effect, to audit Yale undergraduate courses if they wish to. It also gives the user a wide variety of other options for structuring the learning process, for example downloading, redistributing, and remixing course materials. Each course includes a full set of class lectures produced in high-quality video accompanied by such other course materials as syllabi, suggested readings, and problem sets. The lectures are available as downloadable videos, and an audio-only version is also offered. In addition, searchable transcripts of each lecture are provided. Who Leads Open Yale Courses? Diana E. E. Kleiner, Dunham Professor of History of Art and Classics and former Deputy Provost, is Founding Project Director and Principal Investigator of Open Yale Courses. Professor Kleiner brings to the project a wealth of experience in the development of Internet educational offerings as well as her long-time experience as Yale professor, scholar, and administrator.

Where we started Need often finds a way to drive an idea, sometimes further than we all expect, and Bounce Back was just such an idea. In 2011 we started a small painting and decorating social enterprise, with the sole purpose of employing people who were coming out of prison. Recruitment was done through interviews in the prison and the first team of 5 people were commissioned to start off by re-building and decorating our offices. They did a very creative job despite the rather erratic grouting and a few hitches with the quality of electrical fitting and we were all delighted. When other people asked if they could use the decorators we would point out that the team had just left prison and clients would say ‘if its ok with you its ok with us’ and that was when we realised we could change perception by endorsing people, giving people trust and putting our belief in them. As the work grew, clients wanted decorating but also wanted to make a difference and we quickly realised that there was an opportunity to do more including training people to be ready for work. Anyone who starts a charity tends to believe in serendipity and the passion for what we choose to do enables us to circumnavigate barriers and overlook obstacles. ‘Outcomes’ were not something we’d ever heard of and simply delivering success for the guys leaving prison was all we wanted to achieve. Fate and amazing people along the way stepped in. HMP Wandsworth supported our recruitment, The London Probation Trust helped us, we were given guidance to set up training and then we were lucky enough to be given a building for a year in which to flourish. Finally, through the support of our decorating clients we were working all the time and thanks to some amazing organisations, the first of which was Axis, we started to grow. We always knew that through the power of skills training and a job, we could make a difference and see change in our participants. However, we also realised early on that change could only come with support for the individuals, which led to our case management team working with individuals for as long as they need it when they leave prison and are go into work.

KIRKINTILLOCH TO FALKIRK Hi everyone, my name is Nicole and I live in Scotland with my Husband, Martiens and my daughter Hailey. We are Namibians who have made Scotland our home. I have previously worked as a horse-riding instructor as well as a travel agent, and before going on maternity leave, was working in customer service. After having Hailey I couldn’t bare the thought of sitting behind a desk all day while she went to nursery. I like to be active and love meeting new people. I took Hailey to Tots Play from the time she was just a few weeks old and we loved it. The benefits and results were amazing. From getting her to sleep better and helping her get over colic, to chats and advice from the parents and it was lovely seeing how much Hailey loved the interaction too. When the opportunity came to take over Tots Play in the area, I was so excited and was determined to make it happen. The support I received in the classes really helped me as a first-time mum, and I am passionate about providing this for others parents. Running the business also allowed me to escape the office environment, meet new people and be there to see my daughter grow up - a perfect fit for me! The Tots play program offers a unique experience using massage, yoga, music, sign language and sensory play all in one class. The program is designed to aid your little one’s development using easy, inexpensive and fun ways to play together, both at class and that you can continue at home too. This is a special time to bond with your child and encourage them to explore their new world with confidence. Marina started the Marina School of Dance in Whitchurch in October 2009 after graduating from the Royal Academy of Dance. The school started with just Ballet and quickly added ISTD Tap and Modern classes into the timetable. We currently have a massive range of classes including Acrobatic Arts, Street Dance, Contemporary, Musical Theatre and most recently Latin. Our team of teachers is constantly growing and all our teachers are encouraged to continually update their knowledge and training in order to give our students the best quality lessons. Marina and the team are members of many teaching organisations in order make sure that all lessons are the most current and up to date syllabus, this also means we can enter students for exams if they wish. Marina School of Dance follows the Royal Academy of Dance Ballet Syllabus, the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing Tap, Modern and Contemporary Syllabus and The Acrobatic Arts syllabus. After searching for a ‘home’ for many years we moved into our new studio in Overton in September 2020, whilst still continuing with our Whitchurch classes to be able to provide lots of options for local families. The new studio means we can offer a huge variety of classes and really make the most of the beautiful facilities. With shows, exams and performances every year there is always something exciting to look forward to. New pupils are always welcome, with or without any experience. We pride ourselves on including and providing opportunities for every single child. All children are encouraged to do their best and to work hard, whilst still having an amazing time and making lots of friends. We are very lucky to have wonderful students and families who are very supportive of the school, making us one big happy dance family.
