I’m Aaron Moore. A professional furniture maker and designer living and working on the North Coast of Cornwall. I make unique furniture, and other things, from quality materials for clients from my premises. I also have a passion for making tools. Some time ago I spent many years in East Africa teaching rural artisans how to make the tools they could not afford to buy. When I returned to the UK I realised that the future of design and craft lay in digital technology, so over the last ten years, I have been learning about computer-aided design and manufacture and building digital tools for my own use. I now have a CNC Router, a Laser Cutter, a couple of 3D printers, and an embroidery machine. Most of the things I make in my studio workshop now have a digital element to their construction.

The Six O’Clock Club started life in January 2013 as an opportunity to bring together a group of business owners and professionals, entrepreneurs, innovators and investors, for after work drinks in London. There was no agenda and no “rules” beyond encouraging visitors to grab a drink at the bar and talk to the people around them. It’s the first step in the “know like and trust” process and assuming you’re not painfully shy (which we’re also addressing) one of the most natural things in the world, get involved in conversation and see where it takes you. Over time relationships have formed, a Facebook group started, conversations have continued and the reasons for meeting have developed. The Six O’Clock Club still presents opportunities to meet and “network” with other business owners but it’s become a great deal more purposeful. It’s become a place of learning, a place to seek and offer support, a resource for knowledge and experience and an organisation with a collective voice that represents not just it’s thousands of members and supporters but their friends and families, colleagues, clients and suppliers too. It’s become a cause, and as such it’s coming of age with an offer that’s much broader than it’s original purpose to bring people together for after work drinks. It’s become a community of business owners and professionals with a real desire for change in the world.

Our mission is to help children, young people and adults harmed by abuse and emotional trauma and to prevent abuse from occurring. We are proud to be a member of the Survivors Trust and are the only all-age service in Cornwall. Our children's service is both registered and accredited by the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP). Our counselling services work to the BACP Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions.

Alexandra Fowler is an author and illustrator living in Cornwall, England. Creating books that are beautiful and interesting to both adult and child is key focus in Alexandra’s style. She is also responsible, under the pen name Lilac Rosenwyn, for the Cornish Legends chapter book series which aims to bring the world of Cornish myths and Legends to a new generation. Alexandra has an extensive background in Environmental education and conservation. Whilst working for a countryside project in Kent, Alexandra ran guided walks and children’s activities with a focus on engaging people in nature through art. Upon moving to Cornwall in 2008, Alexandra topped up her studies in Marine Environmental Management and completed a Certificate in Education, enabling her to work for a number of years as a Lecturer in Marine Biology. With the birth of her three children, Alexandra combined her educational and artistic background to create inspiring and informative children’s books for ages 9 and under. Working in traditional mediums of watercolour Alexandra creates visually appealing stories to inspire. She additionally works with other authors to bring their words to life with her illustrations.

Was born in Africa and lived in Lagos until her 9th birthday when her family moved back to the UK and more specifically Cornwall. Moving to Cornwall at such a key age shaped her passions and future in so many ways. Having always been in swimming pools and the sea in Africa the love of water intensified on the beautiful beaches and in the crashing Atlantic surf of the Cornish Coastline. The sea and its different moods have always been in her life. Being a keen surfer in her teens her love of playing in and with the elements became all encompassing when she discovered the thrill of kitesurfing. A pioneer in the early days of the sport she set up one of the first schools in the UK, and competed on the world circuit with her highest ranking being 3rd in the world. She also enjoyed other kiting challenges and set a world record by kitesurfing from Cornwall to Ireland ( under her maiden name Wharry), She discovered Glass by accident, through her landlady whilst studying at Falmouth art college, falling instantly in love with the look and the process of working with glass she decided to specialise in Architectural Stained Glass at Swansea. Though not actively working with glass during her sporting career, the fascination never left. Now retired from competition, glass is back as the focus of her passion. “Its colour, its reflections and translucent quality instantly captured my heart. To me it has a similar quality to water. It is enigmatic you can look at it, or through it. It is there and not there and can create a potent visual effect, either opulent or subtle. I love the challenge of designing for different buildings, interiors and people, whether a large architectural piece or an intensely personal small piece. “ Dreya

Enable your baby to swim happily, safely and confidently from an early age. Swim Academy for Babies is a specialist baby swimming school that started in Cornwall more than 10 years ago, and is now available in Somerset. We are proud to be entirely run by mothers, providing a unique experience for families with babies and small children. We run tailored baby swimming classes for babies from newborn to 4 years old, we hope to soon be able to resume offering swimming development courses and junior squads for ages 5 to 10 years old. We create a natural, loving and fun environment where you can enjoy special time with your baby, deepening your special bond whilst learning how to help your baby enjoy the water. We teach babies water awareness and safety, allowing them to explore and discover what their bodies are capable of in a variety of structured situations. All our classes are uniquely planned taking into account the ability of each individual baby and child. The earlier babies are introduced to water the sooner they can be taught vital water safety skills as well as increasing their strength and stamina. We also include fun excercises to help mothers recover their pre-pregnancy body weight. We use internationally proven ‘in water’ and ‘underwater’ techniques to improve babies lung capacityand function as well as boosting babies self-confidence and general heath and fitness levels. Most babies also develop better eating and sleeping patterns, and many parents plan sleep times around swimming classes! Other family members are welcome to bring their baby swimming as soon as baby’s umbilical cord has healed. This may be useful during the first 6 weeks when mother cannot go in the water. Bonding, Nurturing, Caring, relaxing, fun!
