At Manor Farm we have been hosting farm visits for over 13 years with visitors from local school children to politicians, Women’s Institute groups and Archaeology groups to farmer co-operatives. Over the years Manor Farm has been used as a showcase for farm diversification with Manor Farm Feeds, The Rural Training Centre and Rural Energy. The Rural Training Centre which operated for 7 years has trained a large number of farmers in IT, farm software and environmental stewardship HLS and ELS schemes. In addition many local residents benefited from training in IT, photography, flower arranging, bird watching, art and painting and many other subjects.

We exist to promote the understanding and development of the law and practice in agriculture, environment, food and related issues and to provide a forum for professionals serving those sectors – lawyers, surveyors, accountants, bankers, farm business consultants and others – to support each other in their specialisms. Our day conferences and regional meetings cover important technical issues and allow Members to network “with the drawbridge down” in a way that is not always easy in the modern working environment. Our quarterly Bulletin deals with current matters in depth, with notes on the legal issues involved in dealing with practical problems. As a young NQT eager to get into the classroom, I was so fortunate to land my first teaching role at a re-known South Leicestershire Primary School. My teaching style: Focus on what they 'can do' build self-esteem & resilience & deepen understanding. With this positive approach to children's learning I noticed that before long, their confidence to tackle the tasks they couldn't do grew, often with exceptional results. Although my heart always remained in the classroom, it wasn't long before I started moving into more Senior roles as I was keen to impact on whole school development. Passionate about getting the right learning to children when they are younger, I went on to become Head of Key Stage 1 & Literacy with a special interest in how phonics was taught. When you first qualify to become a teacher, interests you may have had then, often change. Always the creative at heart I often took learning away from the desk & into the hall as children re-enacted key periods in history/literacy texts through dance/drama/music. Not only did we cover the curriculum, but it also gave children who may have struggled in the classroom, the opportunity to shine through the arts. Recognising & nurturing children's talents in this way was so rewarding & boosted their confidence back in the classroom too. I went onto become Advanced skills teacher of performing arts. As well as working with my incredibly talented Deputy Head/Head of Music to develop our reputation in this area, I was also seconded to work in other schools in the county to develop that part of the curriculum for them too. I then diversified & became Head of Behaviour Management & Pupil Well-Being. I attending various seminars run by the incredibly inspirational Dr Bill Rogers (Behaviour Management Specialist who sketched his way through seminars rather than power-points!) His simple yet effective strategies changed the way we managed behaviour back in the classroom. As we know, children mis-behave for a reason. If we can get to the root of it, we can work together to find ways to de-escalate a situation before a child ultimately goes into crisis. Unsurprisingly, I developed an interest & connection with Team Teach, award-winning 'positive handling' training which helps staff support pupils with challenging behaviour.

About this Training Course Reservoir engineering methods, data and models are used in the E&P business to describe and optimise hydrocarbon recovery. The topics covered in this course will be illustrated with practical and actual field cases. Some self-study or reading will be required from participants. Training Objectives By the end of this course, participants will be able to: Describe use of permeability and fluid saturation in reservoir engineering. Explain the assessment of hydrocarbon resources and recoverable reserves estimation. Understand analysis and modelling of fluid behaviour. Explain oil and gas reservoir performance. Describe material balance methods in oil and gas reservoirs. Understand design and analysis of well tests. Understand analysis and production of producing wells and forecasting methods. Describe fluid displacement at the pore and reservoir scale. Explain reservoir simulation approaches. Describe tools for handling the uncertainty in reservoir analysis. Describe various recovery methods from primary to enhanced recovery. Target Audience This course is intended for professionals with prior technical or engineering exposure to exploration and production activities. Targeted participants include geoscientists, production engineers, petrophysicists and petroleum engineers involved with exploration and development of oil & gas reservoirs. The course will also benefit petroleum engineering team leaders as well as IT staff and support staff who work with reservoir engineering, development and production departments. Course Level Basic or Foundation Trainer Your expert course leader is an independent Reservoir Engineering Consultant, providing project consultancy and reservoir engineering training for global customers. He retired from Shell in 2012 and during the last years of his Shell career, he held the Senior Reserves Consultant for the Middle East and Reservoir Engineering Discipline Lead positions. He is a seasoned Petroleum Engineering professional, with global experience in Shell companies and joint ventures (NAM, SSB, SCL, PDO, SKDBV). His technical expertise is in reserves and resource management, reservoir engineering quality assurance, and staff development as well as carbonate reservoirs, modelling and reservoir simulation.  PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE 2012 to date Independent Reservoir Engineering Consultant Petroleum and reservoir engineering advice, training and services.
