Giving is part of the fabric of our community at TSP and what makes our school so special. Our staff give their time and expertise to create a memorable education for our children, and the children give so much energy and enthusiasm to their work. We would also like to invite members of the wider TSP community to give time, talent or treasure, however they can, in support of our school to make a direct difference to our children’s lives. Recent projects that have been supported / funded include: · Contributing to the refurbishment of the Hall through purchasing a new projector and speakers · Improving year 3 and 4 classrooms · Sourcing new ICT equipment · Extra workshops to further enhance the school’s curriculum The school’s current focus is on: · enhancing the Year 1 playground area. This small, contained area is very tired and in need of some improvements to create a stimulating, engaging space for play. Your contributions will make a difference every day for the children who pass through year 1 each year. · improving the Key Stage 1 playground which is a thoroughfare for the school and is also used as the play area for Clubhouse, our wrap around care service. · Following the refurbishment of the school hall which has improved central space for the children to use throughout the day, to now also upgrade the sound and lighting equipment which would further enhance our school performances and workshops. We aim to raise a minimum of £5,000 each academic year to support projects such as these – the more we can raise, the sooner our children can benefit. We know that giving money isn’t always possible, so here’s what you can do, whatever your circumstances:

Knit-Wise is a subscription that brings your new (or old) hobby (or maybe lifestyle) to you. Each box contains the instructions, yarn, and tools to make a project. We love color and texture, and unusual knitted items. In other words, don’t be surprised if your project is a crochet version of a ceramic vase. We like try new things, but still obsess over a classic hat or socks. Knitting is fun and is said to help anxiety, but it can also make you cry. We want to take some of the stress out of knitting by sending you everything you need to get started. “Knitwise” refers to how you're going to insert needle into the next stitch loop. To us, Knit-Wise also means knit smart, not hard. And that means, simple projects you can actually finish and feel super proud of yourself (you won’t see any blanket projects here-sorry).

At LastAct Academy, we deliver a rounded theatrical training to our students. Each week, over a three hour session, our students attend classes in singing, acting and dancing, working towards fantastic performances at the end of every term. We see each child as an individual and welcome all abilities and experience. Our primary focus is creating a safe and nurturing environment for all to excel. A positive and encouraging forum for learning and growing will always remain our principle directive. A term usually runs for around 12 weeks, based around local school term dates and all students are expected to attend regularly, wearing our LastAct Academy uniform. Due to the global pandemic of COVID-19, LastAct Academy have needed to take steps to ensure the safety of the students and staff. The CoVE initiative also supports the implementation of the European Green Deal, the new Digital Strategy, and the new Industrial and SME Strategies, as skills are key to their success. Firstly, our programmes are completely personalised to each candidate; no two people have the same experience because we only train between 20 and 30 trainees each year. Unlike the big university models where you would be one of 200 trainee teachers, we tailor the year to maximise your skills and you will therefore be better prepared to teach. We have our own supportive SCITT community, our own wellbeing programme and our own life coach. Secondly, because our trainees don’t have to attend University lectures, we have time to give them a bespoke enhancement programme running alongside the mainstream school placements. Our secondary trainees have the opportunity to teach in primary schools, pupil referral units, Special Educational Needs settings, work with CAHMS and teach in Sixth Forms. They also spend time at our local private schools to teach children with English as an additional language. Again, trainee curriculum design is tailored to maximise preparation. Thirdly, our programmes are competitively priced because we know graduates are already carrying huge university debts. We charge £7705 for QTS, as opposed to £9000, but we also give a free qualification for secondary trainees in addition to QTS so they leave as qualified Teachers of the PSHE Association [Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education]. This gives them an edge over other candidates when applying for jobs, and fully prepares them for teaching beyond the curriculum and preparing their pupils for life in modern Britain.
