Amica Aesthetics Academy

amica aesthetics academy

England

Amica Aesthetics was set up by its owner Claire Raby in 2015. After working in the field of semi-permanent makeup for many years, Claire always had an interest in Aesthetics, being a natural for attention-to-detail, and knowing what's aesthetically pleasing to the eye, she knew she would be a natural with the needle. Claire completed her training for dermal fillers & anti wrinkle treatments in 2015, and has since then gone on to complete many advanced aesthetics courses & masterclasses. Over the years she has never stopped expanding her skills. This enables her to offer the best service possible to clients. Claire has had years of experience in aesthetic injectables on all areas of the face, including offering facial contour packages the “Liquid Nose Job", PDO thread lifts and more. Claire decided in 2019 she wanted to share her expertise with other people going into the Industry, and went on to complete her teacher training. She now runs an AWARD WINNING fully accredited training academy in North Leeds. Claire has built up an excellent reputation, and 90% of her clients come from recommendations. The reviews on the Facebook and Instagram pages are all outstanding. Claire herself works from her main clinic and academy premises in Leeds. She has fully qualified and experienced staff members that have been personally trained by Claire, who offer clinic days at various locations in the U.K. due to popular demand for Amica Aesthetics services. Having such a passion for her work, shows in the consistent fantastic results!

Career Days

Leeds

CareerDays.co.uk was founded by former teachers who often came across students unsure of which career to go into. Career advice plays a big part in a students school life but we found many students often had no idea what career they wanted and were ill equipped to make that decision without experiencing each one beforehand. Many of our students would, for example, decide at 17 that they were interested in medicine but had no idea of the intricacies involved in applying or even if their skillset matched a job in the field. Similarly we've had students from an early age determined to go into a career without having gained any work experience of it to ascertain if it actually might be for them. We started in 2014 by running medicine work experience days and since then we've grown to incorporate several other careers that students would benefit from gaining work experience in and learning about, to help make their decisions easier when it comes to choosing a potential career. We have set about forging relationships with key industry figures and today have an extensive network of professionals that we can call upon to help run our courses and offer the best advice and advantage to our students. We formed CareerDays.co.uk to offer students the chance to experience a career that may be of interest and give them an honest insight into the field so they can decide to commit to it or to look into alternate careers. Either way offering some valuable information to them in order to help them make the right career choices.

Baby Week Leeds

Leeds

Baby Week is a registered charity and aims to bring sectors and services together to promote the best start in life. The initiative was inspired by Brazil’s ‘Semana do Bebe’ (UNICEF 2010), following a visit to the country by Churchill Fellow Lucy Potter. Leeds hosted the first English speaking Baby Week in 2016 and since has had interest from several other towns and cities wanting to host their own celebrations. Since Baby Week became a registered charity, Bradford, Hull, Wakefield, Cheshire and Merseyside have organised their very own take on Baby Week Leeds. In 2019, we were nominated and came in second place as charity of the year by The British Journal of Midwifery Practice Awards (BJM). Over the past six years, hundreds of citywide events have been held with thousands of attendees including parents, expectant parents, practitioners and professionals , and of course babies! Each city hosting the week has the opportunity to celebrate and bring together the work of maternity and early years services, helping to raise awareness of the critical developmental growth stages and a real focus on the 1001 days in order to give every baby the best start in life. Baby Week is organised with Child Friendly Leeds with partnerships involving NHS Leeds, Leeds Teaching Hospitals, Leeds Dads, Public Health, Mumbler, and many more partners across all sectors. To mark the 5 years in 2020, Baby Week Leeds focussed on five of the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals as a focus over the next few years: Good Health and Wellbeing, Reduced Inequality, Sustainable cities and communities, Climate action and No Poverty.

Baby Swimmers & Swimmers Academy - Swimming Lessons

Pudsey

Baby Swimmers was founded in Yorkshire in 2004 by Tracy Margo after attending similar classes with her first baby. She found them so beneficial and enjoyable that she was inspired to set up her own classes to teach little ones water safety skills, and their parents the enjoyment of bonding with their baby in the water. From just one small class, today we teach over 500 children every week across North & West Yorkshire through our team of incredibly talented and passionate swim teachers. And in 2019, we were thrilled to be crowned winners of the What’s On 4 Kids ‘Most Loved Sport or Physical Activity award’. There are lots of reasons why baby swimming is good for your baby (and you, too!). You can read more about the benefits of baby swimming, and why it’s important to get them happy and confident in the water as soon as possible. Here at Baby Swimmers, we understand that children develop differently, which is why all our lessons are child-led to ensure little ones are taught and developed at their own pace. Once your child is older and confident in the water they’ll progress to our Swimmers Academy, where we’ll focus on improving their stroke technique, stamina and survival skills, including lifesaving awards. Our mission is to get children in the water and confident as soon as possible, so whatever your child’s age or ability, we’ve a class that’s just right for them. Sing and play through our structured awards programme, and see your little one progress to a confident swimmer! The University of Huddersfield

London

Whatever you aim to do in life, it pays to get a good education. And with high standards of teaching and learning and excellent facilities that's exactly what our students can expect from the University of Huddersfield. Based right in the town centre and at the heart of the local community, we help thousands of people, from school leavers to those returning to education after a gap, achieve their goals each year. Why do nearly 20,000 students choose to study at Huddersfield? Excellence The University of Huddersfield is a growing centre of research and excellence and we always push the boundaries of knowledge. The University of Huddersfield achieved a Gold Teaching Excellence and Student Outcomes Framework (TEF) award in June 2017. This award expired in June 2021 and the scheme is currently being revised. We look forward to being reassessed when the awards are re-opened in 2023. We won the first Global Teaching Excellence Award recognising the University’s commitment to world-class teaching and its success in developing students as independent learners and critical thinkers (Higher Education Academy, 2017). Triple proof of teaching excellence; our staff rank in the top three in England for the proportion who hold doctorates, who have higher degrees, and hold teaching qualifications (HESA 2022). So, you’ll learn from some of the best, helping you to be the best. We are joint first in the country for National Teaching Fellowships, which mark the UK’s best lecturers in Higher Education, winning a total of 20 since 2008 (2022 data). We've world-leading applied research groups in biomedical sciences, engineering and physical sciences, social sciences and arts and humanities. The University of Huddersfield became the Times Higher Education University of the Year in November 2013. Judges highlighted the University’s outstanding record for student satisfaction and employability with the University placed in the top ten in the country in both categories. We asked our staff and students why they thought the University of Huddersfield won the University of the Year award. Here's what they said. Employment We have an impressive record for graduate employment, with 96.5% of our undergraduate and 96.6% of postgraduate students in work or further study within fifteen months after graduating (HESA Graduate Outcomes 2019/20, UK domiciled, other activities excluded). The University places a great deal of importance on industry experience and therefore 100% of our undergraduate students have the opportunity to undertake professional work experience during their studies. Enjoyable Since 2008, £156 million has been spent on campus development making sure our students have access to some of the best facilities in the country. Our campus also has a vibrant social scene and we have a very active Students’ Union with more than 110 clubs and societies. Enterprising The University is growing its reputation as a leader in the field of enterprise. In 2012 the University was awarded the prestigious Times Higher Education Entrepreneurial University of the Year and followed this up in 2013 and 2022 when it was awarded a Queen’s Awards for Enterprise: International Trade. Professor Liz Towns-Andrews, 3M Professor of Innovation, also received an individual Queen’s Award for Enterprise Promotion. Then in 2019 our Vice-Chancellor, Professor Bob Cryan, won the Examiner Business Person of the Year award. We have helped a number of graduates to set up their own successful businesses and have a fantastic Enterprise Team who are here to help students get their business ideas off the ground. The Enterprise Hub, housed in the 3M Buckley Innovation Centre, is a great hub for students who wish to set up their own business and provides a great opportunity to network with other students and local businesses.
