We’re empowering people to use digital media to create and share stories that reflect their real lives, neighbourhoods and communities. 4. Positive stories lead to positive wellbeing We know that the media’s demonisation and negative portrayal of black and marginalised communities is harming people’s mental health and wellbeing [read our survey findings]. By equipping people with media skills to tell their own stories, we’re making positive and authentic stories more visible. This is boosting self-esteem and wellbeing, while counteracting negative stereotypes at the same time. We are a small family firm started by Albert Nightingale in the 1970’s when NFS quickly became well known across the Cambridgeshire Fen, Peterborough and surrounding area. Albert had over 20 years experience when he started the firm and continued until the mid 2000’s when he decided to retire. His son Patrick Nightingale, himself a trained agricultural engineer & experienced welder, took over the reins and the company is continuing to build on the original legacy, with its reputation for quality, reliability and delivery of all work undertaken Albert remains an active member of the Peterborough Farm Machinery Preservation Society having been one of the founder members. Patrick has continued with the tradition and he is himself too, an active member of the Society. Albert has accumulated a vast wealth of knowledge & experience by both working on other peoples agricultural equipment as well as his own (pictured right exhibiting his own 1930’s John Deere B Series, at the East of England Show) Whereas Patrick completed his apprenticeship with Baker Perkins, going onto work for a renowned Cambridgeshire firm of Agricultural Engineers before joining Railway industry to add to his skills base as an experienced Welder. He has always had a special affinity with metal and welding, coupled with a perfectionist nature has resulted in a truly remarkable workman who prides himself in his work to the very high standards he sets himself Nightingale Farm Services is a small family firm who pride themselves on working together, doing the best they can to support the delivery of a quality restoration for you the customer. Atlantic Bow (Communications) Limited was originally set up in 1994 by David Walls and the late Alexander Grant as a consultancy and project development firm. Dr. Stewart Massie was appointed Technical Director in 2009. We specialise in market research, risk management, open and distance learning, as well as research into combining information and communications technologies with legal, financial, commercial, educational and other professional services. We have worked largely in the fishing, seafood and aquaculture sectors. In particular, our EC funded report "The Seafood Industry of the Highlands and Islands of Scotland and the West Coast: The Problems of Remoteness in a European Context" (EC Ref. UK-11-Focus, August 1997) had a major impact on the UK seafood industry and has been the basis of much of our subsequent work to date. More recently we were awarded an FIFG grant to carry out an "innovation" development project that looked at the vital question of the standardisation of data to facilitate data exchange across the seafood industry as a "proof of concept" project. To demonstrate the practical application of the draft standard specification that was developed, there was specific focus on quality management, compliance certification and audit in the field of organic aquaculture. This project was successfully completed in June 2008. The outcomes can be viewed at the AQuaManage section of our Scotsea site (see below). This has led on to the formation in 2016 of a new company, Evolve O-Pro Limited, which was set up to develop software to assist the professional or expert with the task of complex reporting, data collection and analysis. Back in early 2013, on the coast in North Devon the idea for Moo Music was born. Musician and entrepreneur Ant Parker, and his wife Jess with their two very young girls, were getting tired of the usual nursery rhymes going round and round in their heads. Both had a passion for music and a wish to teach their children about everything that comes with daily life and beyond; eating healthily, making friends, feelings, the wider world, keeping fit … and all most importantly through MUSIC, FUN and PLAY! At the same time Ant’s sister Ali, who loves to sing and has worked as a nanny, was looking for a flexible and affordable business that allowed her more time with her own small family. She asked Ant to have a look at a few other music franchises (with his entrepreneur hat on) but he soon realised that you got very little original content, were bound by many rules, and paid an extortionate amount for the privilege. This got Ant thinking – one of his best friends is a songwriter who has a very special ability in writing fantastic children’s songs that adults can enjoy too. Another friend is an artist who has illustrated many TV classics such as Bod and Pigeon Street. So Ant thought “why not commission the songwriter to write some songs, the artist to design some characters, Ali to use the combination to start her own business and then once established, licence the material to others. The rest, as they say, is history! Ali started trialling the sessions towards the end of 2013 and we launched as a licensed business opportunity in April 2014. In the first year there were just short of 100 licensees covering much of the UK. Over the next few years the remaining viable areas of the UK were covered, existing licensees expanded into larger areas and we now have 176 licensees covering 1433 postcode districts across the majority of the UK. The master licence for Australia sold in 2016, The Republic of Ireland in 2019, Korea in 2020 and the United States in 2021.

Lighthouse Literacy Academy was created to meet the growing needs of San Diego’s East County families who are searching for a wonderful alternative to public school. We are a group of parents and educators with children between grades Transitional Kindergarten and 9th grade. We ourselves grew up in East County attending different elementary, Jr high and High schools around the community. We come with various backgrounds from college degrees to countless ECE classes. Some of us have a background in preschool education, some in homeschooling and some in primary education. Lighthouse Literacy Academy is a Christian school where children will experience God’s love in our morning Bible time and weekly chapel as well as throughout the week as we learn to love God and each other just as God commands us. We believe learning success is rooted in strong literacy. We believe that literacy is the foundation for all learning success, from the primary years, all through college and all of life. We believe a solid ability to read well gives tremendously to whether or not an individual will thrive throughout their lives. We believe that when a Pre-K student reads sight words or a Kindergartener reads 3-7 word sentences, when a first or second grader is reading full books they are paving their way to a bright future. At Lighthouse Literacy Academy each and every child will be a successful reader whether at grade level or beyond. When at Lighthouse Literacy Academy, a child has reached her or his grade level expectations we don't sit back and celebrate, we celebrate and begin the journey of even further progress, motivating, facilitating and supporting each and every child right where they are individually. Our small class sizes allow for one on one learning, community and collaboration. Math, Science, Social Science, Arts, Physical education are not secondary to literacy, but instead intertwined as we strongly believe anyone who can read-well-can learn anything! Lighthouse Literacy Academy is an extension of JUMP Preschool and Kindergarten. JUMP Preschool was established in 2008 for children ages 2 years to Transitional Kindergarten then in 2012 the kindergarten was added. Lighthouse Literacy Academy will have its first semester in January 2022 serving grades Transitional Kindergarten to third Grade.
