Following a national RP (Revenue Protection) Conference in 1998, it was agreed to establish a formal (though voluntary) body – the UK Revenue Protection Association (UKRPA) to cover RP interests. The UKRPA: Provides a Forum for the exchange of information and discussion of matters of common interest related to Revenue Protection (RP) in order to benefit business activities Nominates representatives to represent interests on relevant groups discussing the development of the competitive market Acts as an interface to other representative organisations with an indirect interest in RP Promotes publicity and agreed activities in the collective interests of members, including an occasional national conference and promotes development, where practicable, of a common approach to issues of Training, Operating Procedures, Technical Developments and Liaison with Suppliers and other utility sectors. The UKRPA is managed by a Committee that meets regularly to discuss progress against a published and agreed business plan.

The overall purpose of this organization is to increase the popularity of our common interests. We hope to add new members so we will be able to grow and expand. We also want to have fun while we are together and working on projects. By developing relationships and friendships, the organization will become even stronger.

Harrogate and Nidderdale District Scouts is a district within the Scout County of North Yorkshire. Geographically it covers an area from Pateley Bridge in the west to Marston Moor in the east, with most groups located in the towns of Harrogate and Knaresborough. There are 14 groups, and 9 Explorer units, including a Young Leaders’ Unit. The District campsite and activity centre is located near to Thornthwaite in Nidderdale and is used by Scouts and Guides from all over the country as well as other youth groups. The District runs a variety of events throughout the year for the different sections, for example the Harrogate Monopoly, Cub Camping competition and District Beaver Day. It is also involved in community events such as providing the catering for the Stray bonfire organised by the Round Table, and of course the St George’s Day parade and Remembrance Sunday. More than 139 years later Glasgow Battalion comprises 44 Companies operating in Glasgow and East Kilbride, the role of a Battalion is to promote the interests of the Brigade in its area by organising activities for members; by the provision of support, training and opportunities for fellowship for Leaders; and by seeking opportunities for development of the Brigade to fulfil its Object better.
