The School aims to cater for everyone. Children are accepted from the age of three years, and we provide classes for all ages, including adults. Children can train in ballet, modern theatre dance, tap and (when they are a little older) jazz, musical theatre, commercial jazz and contemporary dance. Adults, too, can attend ballet and tap. The majority of our students want to dance for sheer pleasure, some will want to work towards examinations and others may want to make dancing their career. Whatever their aims we give them every encouragement to achieve them. Dancing should be fun! Our first priority is that students enjoy themselves, safely and under the eye of experienced teachers. But dancing also provides other benefits: exercise and an improvement in posture and co-ordination; development of confidence and social skills; musical and artistic appreciation; the cultivation of imagination, to mention a just a few. All of our teachers have been through Enhanced DBS checks. Most of our teachers are qualified with the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) and those who are working towards their teaching qualifications are regularly monitored. All are enthusiastic and work hard to ensure that a high standard of teaching is maintained at all levels. The Weston is a business partnership which aims to provide a friendly and personal atmosphere for students and parents. The Cambridge Information and Intellectual Property Meeting (CIIPM) was founded by Jane List of Extract Information and Stuart Newbold of Patent Search & Information Management in 2015. CIIPM hosts an ‘annual’ meeting and provides training in IP matters and patent information search and analysis. The CIIPM meeting provides an opportunity for knowledge sharing for those engaged with the commercialisation of technologies using intellectual property, and those needing information to make legal and commercial decisions. The annual meeting offers an afternoon of talks, workshops, and discussions, a small exhibition, networking opportunities, and has hosted a post graduate student poster competition. CIIPM also provides unique training courses blending theory and practice in IP Matters, IP Commercialisation, and Patent Searching for Legal and Commercial Insights. Training courses take place throughout the year virtually and at venues in Cambridge, UK, or by arrangement at your office or other location. Following the March 2022 meeting CIIPM have established a programme committee to help us maintain the strong programme and networking. We are very pleased that Claudia Duffy, Innovare IP, Isla Furlong, Director of Intellectual Property, PetMedix Ltd. Anne Jones, Senior Customer Success, ACS / CAS , Rob Mann, IP Manager, PragmatIC, Kerry Rees, Partner, HGF and Sam Winders, PatSnap have agreed to join the programme committee. Glass blowing courses: Learn to blow glass at Clavering Glassworks, Essex 1 DAY BEGINNER COURSE This one day lesson lasts for six hours and aims to provide an intensive introduction to this most exciting and challenging of craft disciplines. Throughout the lesson, you will learn to gather molten glass from the furnace at a temperature exceeding 1100 degrees and manipulate it with a range of traditional glassmaking tools. You will be taught to apply colour and pattern to the clear glass so that by the end of the lesson, you will have produced a number of items from vessels to paper weights of your own design to take home and treasure. KEY INFORMATION: This glassblowing lesson is aimed at complete beginners, so no previous experience is necessary. Small class sizes - maximum of three students to one instructor so you will get plenty of one-on one instruction. All safety equipment and materials are provided. Please wear sensible, comfortable clothes, preferably layers, so you can remove the outer layer if you get hot; and flat, sturdy shoes. Long hair should be tied back. Complimentary hot and cold drinks will be provided but feel free to bring along drinks, snacks and a packed lunch. Lunch is available at the Lodge nearby. Students for glassblowing courses must be over 18 years of age. Please note that glass vessels and other pieces made during the lesson need to cool slowly in the kiln, so these can be picked up two days later, or alternatively these can be posted for a charge.

Anthea Millar MA, Dip IIP | CST Partner, Course Tutor Anthea is a co-founder of CST, a BACP Senior Accredited Counsellor of 38 years experience, and also a supervisor and counselling & supervision educator. She is a Vice President of the Adlerian Society, a training moderator and assessor, and author of a number of publications including co-author with Penny Henderson and Jim Holloway of Practical Supervision (JKP 2014). As well as her work in the UK, she is on the board and faculty of ICASSI, an international psychology conference, and is regularly invited to provide training abroad, most recently in Germany, USA, Malaysia, and Greece. Picture Kathy Mitchell MSc, Dip | CST Partner, Course Tutor With a background in psychology and as a BACP Accredited Counsellor of almost 20 years experience, Kathy is also an experienced supervisor and trainer. She has a thriving therapy practice and has worked in a supervisory context with experienced and trainee counsellors, and other allied professionals across a variety of settings including Centre 33 and the University of Cambridge Counselling Service. In 2007 she established an in-school counselling service at Chesterton Community College, and as a teacher and trainer she has taught A level Psychology, delivered courses in counselling and presented numerous workshops. She has a background in nursing and the NHS, having specialised in substance abuse for over 25 years. She now has an independent practice combining varied client work, supervision and training as well as offering supervision for organisations such as Centre33, Stars and Choices, she has a particular interest in encouraging supervision in fields such as medicine, nursing, teaching, the legal profession and faith leaders . She is a counselling Diploma assessor for ASIIP and has been involved as a visiting tutor for CST since its inception.
