As I was tending a particularly troubled rose bush, regularly troubled by black spot and aphids, I thought about how much I grow with my garden and how much of me is in it. I enjoy a sense of my own agency as I make things happen. This is not through controlling and forcing plants to be what they are not but expecting to get a healthy return in our relationship accepting limitations and sometimes choosing not to continue to grow something where I get little return or don't like what is available. This reminds me of how I have come to view relationship that if I expect to be loved and cared for in general this happens and if it does not then this is not solely my doing. I can choose to end relationships which are draining and unfruitful. The rose bush reminds me of a family member who can often cause me concern and attack me. I am now aware of how much I can safely give that relationship, without feeling drained or prickled. I get some returns enough to keep the rose bush with its limitations. I am able to keep myself open to more enriching relationship such as the honeysuckle which bounds up and offers freely this helps me tolerate the disappointments of the rose and the Lilly of the valley, which has never survived despite my efforts.

Meet Harry & Megan Hindley, the founders and creators of Copper Studios. Both Harry and Megan have studied in Performing Arts and have years of amateur and professional experience. In September 2015 Harry & Megan decided to offer a Musical Theatre class at the Nottingham Girls Academy on a Friday evening for students wanting to explore singing, acting and dance. On the first session they had 6 students arrive and after an exciting hour they couldn't wait to come back the following week. A couple of months down the line, the classes started to grow and word of mouth spread the news of these brilliant new classes.

Paul and Jackie have between them over 40 years experience in dog training. They are both Kennel Club Good Citizens examiners to Gold Standard. They believe that training should be practical, fun and meet the individual requirements of the owners and their dogs. Jackie and Pauls involvement in dog training started first with Molly, a Border Collie rescue, followed soon after by Spike another rescue Border Collie, and then Masie our beautiful Cross Collie. Now we have a 9 year old Gun Dog from a Puppy who is a very handsome boy. Taking on rescue dogs gave them an insight into dealing with all sorts of issues and firmly cemented their interest in training. Jackie has her British Sign Language Level 3 Certificate, and is able to work with those who are deaf or hard of hearing to train their dogs. Having run my own lorry for Hire & Reward including continental for a while I have been where you are going to be…. In the real world. I've run my own lorry based buisness for a number of years and moved into Driver Training in 1985 when two people who worked for me needed a C+E licence (HGV class 1) and just could not find a t...raining provider who offered the right training at a realistic price. I trained up both of them successfully and the rest as they say is history. In 1985 I attended the RTITB (The only recognised body to Road Transport) and also did the re registration courses as and when they were due. Since then the DSA have started their voluntary registration which I joined when launched. In January 2008 I re-sat & again passed the LGV Instructors course for the third time running including the new Theory Test and the Hazard Perception. So I know from personal experience what you will be expected to do. I'm one of only a handful of instructors in the area who are fully qualified. Not many people realise that, unlike Car instructors, HGV trainers do not have to be qualified to teach you. In over 20 years of training I have built up a firm customer base with many companies having been with me since 1985. There are two agencies who take newly qualified lorry drivers from me on a regular basis. I believe that during training it is important to be on the road as much as possible. I don’t have any Classrooms or spend time in Cafés or parked in Lay-By’s. All my training is in the Cab, the majority of the time with the wheels moving and you at the controls. After all that’s what you are paying for!

At the tender age of 3 years old, Shanade attended weekly gymnastics classes in Nottingham. Taking a greater interest in dance, by the age of 5, Shanade began training in Ballet, Jazz, Tap & Acrobatics. As she grew older she spent more and more time growing her passion in dance - through hours after school in dance classes and rehearsals that would prepare her for the years of exams, showcases and competitions to come. At 18, after realising she wanted to pursue a career in dance, Shanade moved to London to gain enhanced training in commercial and hip hop dance styles. On completion of a year of training in London, she then moved to De Montfort University and successfully gained a 1st Class degree in Dance. Whilst completing her degree, Shanade began teaching dance finding a greater passion in passing on her own knowledge gained through her years of experience! Today as she begins her new venture in starting her own dance company, ADIA Dance Studios, she aims to inspire individuals to discover their own love for dance as she was able to.
