Our DS Director, Cara Louise Horsley, took part in the first Para Dance UK IDT Inclusive Dance Remote Training Course earlier this year and we are super excited to put this training into practice, furthering the reach of inclusive dance across London, alongside such a brilliant organisation. At Dance Stables, we pride ourselves in offering classes that everyone can enjoy and this is shown in our DS Mission Statement: Dance Stables provides an open, secure platform for children and adults to explore their creativity, build confidence and share their love for dance and the arts. Kensington Dollshouse Festival (formerly the London Dollshouse Festival) was established in 1985 by Caroline Hamilton & Sue Atkinson, both dolls house enthusiasts, who wanted to create an event that would bring together the top dolls house makers & miniature artists from around the world with dolls house collectors & aficionados. Over the last 35 years the Festival has become the top international show for quality dolls’ houses, baby houses, miniatures & models. Faithful customers travel to London from Asia, USA, Africa, Australia and Europe, just to visit the Festival every year, there are 170+ craftsmen exhibiting, with approximately ¼ of the total exhibitors travelling from outside the UK and most of whom make the items they sell themselves. 95% of all the items for sale are completely hand made. In 2005, Charlotte Stokoe took over the organisation of the Festival, and introduced other events alongside the main show, including workshops (in association with IGMA – The International Guild of Miniature Artisans), tours to places of interest, free children’s activities & the PIMA (Perfection in Miniature Awards). A one day Christmas Festival was added to the calendar in 2008, which quickly became as popular & successful as its Summer counterpart.

With a background in Drama, Alastair's Teaching career spans some 16 years, he has worked in many different educational settings , including Autistic Units , SLD Schools and MLD Schools , before settling into a long term stint at a PRU. Alastair worked for eight years as senior teacher in a Pupil Referral Unit for a London Borough. He dealt with pupils excluded from mainstream school, primarily because of emotional and behavioural difficulties. He was responsible for developing and running anger management and social skills groups in mainstream schools for pupils at risk of exclusion. For many years he has run courses for teachers and practitioners as well as children and adolescents. Alastair is an advanced tutor for restraint, qualified through ‘Team Teach’. St Bonaventure’s has a long and distinguished history. Our school has been providing the very best education for Roman Catholic boys in this area since before 1875. The school was founded on its current site in 1877 by the Franciscan Friars, making St Bonaventure’s one of the oldest Catholic boys’ schools in the country – only the London Oratory is older. 2017 saw us celebrating 140 years of education in Forest Gate and although the World has changed immensely in that time, one thing remains the same and that is the love and care each student receives every single day by dedicated staff and teachers. Our school motto, “In Sanctitate et Doctrina” symbolises what we expect from all members of our school. We are a community, based upon faith which impacts upon every element of our academic and personal lives and we expect everyone, adult and child, to ensure that they learn something new each day. In July 2014 the Roman Catholic Diocese of Brentwood conducted their own Inspection of the school. They also found that we are Outstanding in all areas. I am very proud to be associated with a school that is a successful as St Bonaventure’s and I thank all students and staff, both current and previous for all their hard work, effort and commitment to their Church and their education. This is a school that every member of the school community feels privileged to be associated with. We support charities on a local, national and international level. Our boys give freely of their time and their money. Our CAFOD group raises over £2000 each year and we support Brentwood Catholic Children’s Society, Caritas Anchor House, Richard House Children’s Hospice and other charities.

We provide comprehensive gateway, healthcare training to future health and social care workers as well as helping them with job search following their training. We also provide in conjunction with our partners, access to funded National Vocational Qualification in Health and Social Care to healthcare assistants. We organise practical/work placements in good healthcare homes for prospective students and staff during their training. We liaise with home managers to arrange a suitable time for when your NVQ assessor can assess you at work. Our registered nurses of different specialties would have been thoroughly vetted against the Nurses and Midwifery Council register. They would have provided satisfactory references from their employers and would have undergone our rigorous registration process. We are an umbrella body with the criminal records bureau and therefore able to assist other organisations to apply for DBS for their staff. We provide continuous developmental courses for interested participants, in order to improve their healthcare knowledge and meet their statutory obligations. Our registered nurses are regularly encouraged to update themselves by attending continuous developmental courses such as: Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, Principles of Moving and Handling, Infection Control, Pressure Sore Management amongst others.

Excel Women’s Centre CIC is an organisation based in Barking & Dagenham and surrounding boroughs which supports women, families, young people, carers and individuals with all issues affecting their quality of life and wellbeing. We work mainly in Barking & Dagenham, and now across a lot of East London, offering a range of dedicated services aimed to support our service users, engage and enable the community. Thus, we strive to empower individuals of all ages and ethnicities to become valued members of society. About Us Excel Women’s Centre, CIC, is community hub that has an open door policy and provides services to all women, children and families residing in the London borough of Barking & Dagenham and surrounding boroughs. The centre offer help to vulnerable women and their families to fight discrimination demand their right and increase their self-esteem and confidence within our multicultural society. Empowerment is the key focus of the organization throughout. With empowerment, more services will be provided and service users will gain the skills and encouragement they need to change their lives. By developing as an organization, service users will be able to see a range of activities materialise in the area of mentoring programs, youth projects, IT clubs, Job clubs, Parenting classes for new mothers, healthy eating sessions and many more specifically suggested by the service users. Excel Women’s centre would like all our services users of the organisation to be able to integrate into Barking and Dagenham borough as well as all around London and have the same accessibility to services that everyone else has in London. By working in partnership with service providers, voluntary and community groups, Excel Women’s Group will lead the way, by illustrating that marginalized communities can integrate into society and become part of the community at large. The group will strive to break down barriers in the area of language by holding English Language Classes and breakdown social exclusion by involving community members in various training schemes and volunteering projects which can help their future ambitions.
