ETAG is the umbrella organisation for the tourism sector in Edinburgh. Our aim is to create a strong tourism community that works together to deliver sustainable growth for your business, a great experience for the visitor and economic benefits for the city and Scotland as a whole. We have an online network of over 1,500 tourism professionals, businesses and organisations who receive regular updates on the latest information, events and business opportunities in Edinburgh. The ETAG Full Group, made up of representatives from the major stakeholders, agencies and industry groups from across Edinburgh’s tourism sector, meets around 12 times a year to discuss the key challenges, opportunities and strategic issues for tourism in the city. ETAG’s activity focuses on 3 main areas: Market Intelligence – keeping businesses up to date with the latest news, business opportunities, visitor intelligence and insights into new developments in the city. Business Development – delivering a range of events, ranging from short, snappy Business Briefings to hands on training in new technology and social media and innovation workshops. It’s activities are primarily funded and supported by Scottish Enterprise, which provides staff resource and project funding. Where appropriate, it also raises project funding for specific activities from the tourism sector.

We are often called in where a business has significant challenges and have previously worked with other organisations who have failed to deliver the results required. One organisation we worked with had brought in three consultancies over the last 5 years and each time the consultants failed to listen to the needs of the organisation and tried to implement strategies they wanted to without addressing or agreeing on the objectives required. We bring in fresh perspective as our direct approach enables us to get to the route of the challenges and as we collect evidence, we have lots of conversations and observations to support our findings. Everything we do is in collaboration with the Leadership Team and their staff and this works as we have been where they are in our previous careers so we have empathy and understanding of how challenging and hard all of this can be for the Leadership Team and the people within the business. Our Story I set up Positive Qualities because I was bullied out of my last corporate job and I had a strong desire to make workplaces better. Workplaces where people could come to work and share ideas and feel safe and valued for their contribution and they never need to dim their light because they feel they haven’t got a voice. I started Positive Qualities because I felt there was a real need for it in business. The W.O.W Programme can help a business reach new targets, increase sales or achieve better customer and staff satisfaction. The W.O.W programme depends on communication, trust and belief. It’s very interactive, high energy and generates a feeling of belonging. It’s about building employee engagement, so employees feel physically, intellectually and emotionally attached to their work. We’re good at handling challenging situations and frequently we find the best results come from the most negative people,” W.O.W.programme is a business improvement programme and a process which is measurable and always has significant results. It empowers people and creates positive futures. I started by pitching to hotels I stayed in and the manufacturers of the cars I drove. I just felt compelled to start a company which I believed would be needed by these customers.

We provide classes, holiday programmes, stage productions and more to help everyone learn without limits, experience new adventures and perform to your potential. We provide performing arts training and performance experiences with the power of potential at their heart and our diverse organisation is always seeking to grow pushing what’s possible through creative approaches, innovative audience development and educational outreach work. Mission, Aims & Ethos Project Theatre exists to promote community and youth involvement in performing arts across the Falkirk area through classes, workshops, productions and community initiatives. Our Aims: To provide a supportive and safe environment for young people to engage in high quality performing arts related activities on a regular basis. To encourage and facilitate the development of skills related to performing arts through classes and workshops. To provide opportunities for all members to take part in regular productions and performances. To give members the opportunity to take part in additional experiences and events. To provide a place for people with an interest in performing arts; drama, music, dance to meet, make friends and have fun. Work with other organisations to exchange information and work on joint projects. Take part in activities which promote good practice in youth arts and for the benefit of the community. Our Ethos: Accessibility – We believe that everyone should have access to the arts and do the upmost to ensure our activities are for everyone as much as possible. Performance – We believe in giving our students as many opportunities to perform through musicals, plays, dance performances, summer courses, and one-off opportunities including outdoor performance. Professionalism – We believe in training young individuals with the necessary skills to develop them into well-equipped performers prepared for the creative and performing arts industry or further and higher education if that is where they are headed as well as vital skills for lifelong learning and development.
