Get to know us a little more and find out who you need to speak to below. You never know what you might discover! Michelle is our Managing Director. If you’ve met her then you will already know what she is about. In fact, she has probably got you involved in the quest to inspire and engage our young people. If you’ve yet to met her…then what are you waiting for? There is always cake on standby. Always one for the non-traditional approach Michelle began her career as an apprentice Gas Service Engineer in the early 90's and was quickly identified as one to watch. Moving swiftly through the ranks she swapped her gas van for a BMW and began the challenge of management in a large organisation. Fast forward a few years & the first incarnation of the company, MerseySTEM was born out of the need to take action to provide a translation and engagement service between industry & education that is honest, effective & innovative. As the reputation and geography of 'her patch' grew All About STEM became the natural successor and the new name and vision was launched in 2016. Merseyside and beyond!! Businesses need to attract new talent in a fast paced technological world and schools need to equip our young people for the future at the same pace. But, critically, both are often inundated with information whilst facing their own sectors’ evolving challenges.

At Stride Active we want to inspire active futures. Put simply, we want to ensure that all young people have the opportunity to be physically active and most importantly, enjoy it! We are the only organisation in Herefordshire dedicated to young people’s physical activity. As experts in in PE, school sport and physical activity, we advocate the benefits of this to support all young people, be it physically, mentally or socially. It is our belief that if we can create the right experiences for children, they will remain active throughout their adult lives. Stride Active is a not-for-profit organisation; our work is divided through two organisational ‘arms’ – Whitecross School and Stride Active Community Interest Company (CIC). We are hosted by Whitecross High School, but operate independently to support schools and organisations across Herefordshire and beyond. We have over 14 years’ experience in sharing our PE expertise with schools. We do this through a range of CPD and training opportunities. Alongside this, we also specialise in physical activity, health and wellbeing through the CIC. All of our work aims to address rising obesity and inactivity rates in children.

We work with herding communities, domestic industries, and other stakeholders in Mongolia and China to provide training in rangeland stewardship, animal welfare, and clean fibre processing and to implement the SFA Cashmere Standard. Through our work, the SFA aims to support the long-term viability of the cashmere sector and contribute to the United Nations’ 2030 Sustainable Development Goals. Who are we? We are Revved Up. We provide paid work experience for young people from L8 and the surrounding areas to prevent them from being involved in serious organised crime. What do we do? Young, disadvantaged people who are at risk are given opportunities to recruit for and co-facilitate youth projects, events and community consultations. During their time with us, young people are given the opportunity to join our list of members, contribute to/learn the operations/ day-to-day running of our community business, they are all also given personal development programmes, 1:1 coaching and mentoring, social prescribing and business start-up advice. We have regular staff trips and excursions to come up with ideas and celebrate recent successes, these are all chosen by the young people. Our community business originates from another organisation called This Is My Story Limited (TIMS). Over 5 years ago TIMS was founded by Phillip Taylor (1957-2021) Adam Taylor, Sophie Middleman, Mike Hobbs and Deborah Fitzsimmons. The purpose of this organisation was to work with disadvantaged young people involved in crime, drug activity, addiction and those who had severe mental health problems. Adam and his family have spent most of their lives in Toxteth L8 Liverpool and it is one of the most disadvantaged areas in the country. The majority of the work that TIMS did was in Toxteth working with young people (all of whom were referred by word of mouth) that needed help in one of these areas. When TIMS was 2 years old, our founder (Adam Taylor) noticed that the young people he was working with through TIMS expressed a desire to follow in his footsteps and decided to try and make that happen, that is when he started Revved Up Limited.
