Hello! Welcome to our website! Who are we? In 2014 Imagine That Drama Classes began with a simple objective – to offer quality, affordable drama classes for the young people of Airdrie. Over the years our classes have grown from strength to strength and in 2020 we became Imagine That Performing Arts Ltd. Our own studios are now located in the most beautiful listed building at the heart of the community. Our students work with our qualified, experienced tutors from the performing arts industry as well as a range of industry experts from across the UK to reach their potential. Imagine That Performing Arts bridges the gap between ‘drama clubs’ and performing arts education. Our range of classes and the opportunities we offer ensure that all students needs are catered for, whether you are just looking for a new hobby or if you want to pursue a career in the arts. We pride ourselves in the opportunities we offer to our students. All students take part in regular productions, as well as theatre trips, casting opportunities, and masterclasses. Our students have gone on to star in TV shows, Hollywood films, and to pursue their dreams studying Music and Musical Theatre at university and college. We operate 10 libraries, 4 sports centres with gyms and pools, a 330 seat theatre, 18 community facilities incorporating a wide range of halls, social function and events venues, community centres and pavilions. We also manage the letting of 35 schools in the evenings and weekends. We deliver a wide variety of programmes like sports development (including swimming lessons, sports coaching, Active Schools Programme), arts development (including classes and events), and library and literacy programmes (ranging from Bookbug to Book Week, authors’ talks to book groups). Our Community Facilities provide a vital network of centres across the authority and host a huge range of community and commercial activities, helping a wide array of groups to deliver services directly to the heart of communities in East Renfrewshire. Dams to Darnley Country Park

Since 2004, East Renfrewshire Council and Glasgow City Council have been working together to develop and manage Dams to Darnley Country Park. The country park sits between Barrhead, Darnley and Newton Mearns, and is made up of a patchwork of woodland, grassland, open water, wetland and farmland. Throughout the year, the Dams to Darnley Countryside Ranger Service run events, health walks and volunteering activities. They also offer outdoor learning opportunities for local schools. The Barrhead dams, the country park's most striking feature, is a series of 5 interconnected reservoirs owned and managed by Scottish Water. The Brock Burn is the source for the Barrhead dams. This small, but important watercourse also provides a corridor for wildlife and has influenced the country park's historical landscape for centuries. As the Brock Burn continues its journey north beyond the Barrhead dams it becomes the focus of Dams to Darnley Local Nature Reserve. The reserve contains a mosaic of woodland, grassland and wetland habitats. The largest woodland is Waulkmill Glen, an important ancient semi-natural site. The glen is also a Site of Special Scientific Interest because of its geology and includes the remains of a 324 million year old tropical, marine environment.

Engage Renfrewshire is a third sector interface (TSI); this means that we support local charities and other not-for-profit groups. Now in its 12th year Engage Renfrewshire support local organisations to be well managed, well resourced, well represented and well connected. Engage Renfrewshire provides advice and support to all community focussed groups who want to start up or develop further. We support social enterprises, community development trusts, charitable groups, mutual aid groups and more. We help groups to build capacity and to be safe, by providing information, advice and training for everything from charitable structures to funding. We have a comprehensive volunteering service. We support volunteer involving organisations with recruitment and volunteer support, and work with individuals to find them rewarding and uplifting volunteer opportunities. We also work with local charities and public sector bodies to promote volunteering for all. Our financial services social enterprise, Engage Finance, offers payroll, HR and financial services to individuals and organisations in Renfrewshire and beyond. Our space in Ferguslie Park is a community hub where we host training and networking opportunities as well as hosting other third sector organisations and charities. We are part of local community planning and actively support collaborative working with the public and private sectors to ensure that people and services are working together, in the most effective way possible. We support and advise many community agendas across Renfrewshire including Renfrewshire’s Health and Social Care Partnership, Local Employability Partnership, Future Paisley, RenSEN (Renfrewshire Social Enterprise Network), and Renfrewshire’s Youth Work Network.

Glasgow Zine Library is a community archive and zine library based in Govanhill, Glasgow, established in 2018. We have a growing international collection of over 1000 zines (self-published magazines). GZL also hosts a blended online/offline programme of workshops, professional and artistic development opportunities, community meals, film screenings, discussion groups, reading groups, children’s arts and crafts, social clubs, heritage activities and more. All of our events are either free or pay-what-you-can. We also programme Glasgow Zine Fest, an annual celebration of zine culture, now in its 9th year.
