The Trinity Catholic School A Voluntary Academy

the trinity catholic school a voluntary academy

Nottingham

On behalf of the students, staff and governors we wish to welcome you to the website of The Trinity Catholic School. The history of the school can be traced as far back as 1844 when the Sisters of Mercy came to Nottingham and opened St Mary’s Elementary School and St Catherine’s Day and Boarding School on this site. Since then as the demands for the Catholic education grew within Nottingham so has the school, to the special place it is today educating over eleven hundred young people. The school is an active member of the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Multi-Academy Trust, along with the other twenty Catholic schools within Nottinghamshire. We are a Catholic school with the aim of developing our young people spiritually, socially and academically with Christ at the centre of our work. Our school motto, ‘Ad de Gloriam’ meaning what we do we offer to the glory of God, underpins the ethos of the school. This is developed further within our school mission statement: “To the Glory of God, we build our school on faith, love and respect” Academically we are consistently one of the highest performing schools within Nottingham City both at GCSE and A-Level. We ensure that all our students secure an appropriate next pathway in their education upon leaving Trinity, whether that be an apprenticeship, studying in our thriving sixth form or, following A-Levels, securing a place at a top university. Beyond the curriculum, we offer unrivalled opportunities in music, where all students take up an instrument, play in an orchestra and learn to read music. In sport, we are extremely proud of our offer and achievements particularly in football, netball, rugby and handball. We run a highly successful Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme and have a rich programme of extra-curricular activities for everyone.

3GE,

Welcome to Bramcote Hills Primary School. Our website aims to give an insight into life at our school and we hope you find it useful. We strive to fulfil our school motto ‘Make the Future Better for All’ in all that we do and are incredibly proud of our school and its pupils, who are supported by a dedicated, committed and caring staff team. Since 1961, our small school has steadily grown into a large one of 14 classes located on an attractive and spacious campus with many excellent facilities. The school boasts a rich ethnic mix and we are proud to teach the children to celebrate diversity in all its forms. We promote an age-appropriate awareness of the protected characteristics and encourage the children not to be bystanders but to stand up for what is right. If I had to describe our school in a few words I would say it is a’ hive of activity’; many visitors often comment positively on the range of learning opportunities evident in our school. We encourage all children to take an active part in their learning, through the context of a broad and engaging curriculum. In addition to this, we place a strong emphasis on curriculum enrichment, offering many experiences, clubs, teams and visits to support learning. We want to develop a love of learning, interests and skills which are lifelong. Our website is no substitute for seeing the school in action and we encourage you to come and visit and see BHPS for yourself; you would be most welcome. If you have any query relating to the school, or require a paper copy of any information published on this website, please do not hesitate to contact myself or our school office.

Windle Trust International

Oxford

Windle Trust International (WTI) challenges poverty and inequality by expanding access to and improving the quality of education and training, for communities affected by conflict, displacement, neglect or discrimination. WTI is dedicated to reducing inequalities in access to high quality education for these communities, particularly for women and girls. We have a specific focus on increasing access to education for conflict-affected communities seeking to reach children and young people who have been forced to flee or who have been denied education because of the chronic marginalisation that so often accompanies conflict. Our ability to work in insecure and unpredictable areas is one of our distinctive features. We have a geographical focus on East Africa and the Horn of Africa. With offices in Sudan, South Sudan and the UK, we combine local knowledge and expertise with international contacts and a global perspective. This is especially important in our scholarships programme, where we work in partnership with some of the UK’s outstanding universities to provide opportunities for access to world-class teaching institutions. Reflecting our values we work across the breadth of the education sector from primary schools to the tertiary sector. Our commitment is to work with communities in all their diversity – girls and boys, refugees and citizens, teachers and school management committees. We are flexible in the way we work and have a breadth of talent to draw on. Where it is the most appropriate option, we are able to work at community level to make sure that projects are on track. At other times, we will operate at a policy level, seeking to shape the broader context or drawing attention to issues that we think are important, but too often neglected. Whatever the project, we will implement it to the best of our ability.
