DeWolf Bushcraft has been created to provide a woodland retreat for Emergency Services workers and NHS staff dealing with the moral injuries and strains of work and home life. Tucked away in the Lake District, it is a sanctuary for those looking to use woodland, mountains and nature as a place to connect, adjust and heal. Originally a Paramedic in the London Ambulance Service, I eventually relocated to the Lake District after having to deal with my own moral injuries and burn-out. Reconnecting with nature and the mountains has enabled me to heal and build strength again. As such, I wish to share these opportunities with others and offer an invitation and a welcome to all who could benefit from time in the outdoors. At 14-16 (Key Stage 4) we provide a core education in GCSEs English, Maths and Double Science as well a specialist technical route in either in Engineering, Health Sciences or Digital Technology (from September 2022). In the Sixth Form (Key Stage 5) you can continue the same three pathways following courses up to an equivalent of 3 A Levels. The primary focus of our UTC is to provide students with an educational experience which prepares them for employment in either engineering, health or the world of digital technology. These three industries provide huge employment opportunities for young people when they leave school or university. A UTC education is built upon the principles of employability and the skills required to be successful at work. What makes our education pathways different is that our curriculum is built to work in partnership with employers. A range of industrial and university partners provide experiences for students which stretch beyond the school setting. South Devon UTC opened in 2015 as an engineering centre with specialist equipment which enriches and enhances the educational experience for students. Since March 2021 the UTC has become part of Education South West, a large multi academy trust stretching across South Devon. This new partnership has resulted in significant investment to develop facilities and provide new pathways in Health Sciences from September 2021 and Digital Technology from 2022.

Since 2000, NALA has been using television, radio, print, telephones and the internet to provide educational opportunities to people who want to improve their literacy. We operate a Tutoring Service, providing tutor support over the phone and internet. We also manage an eLearning website www.learnwithnala.ie where people can have their skills assessed across a number of areas and then be prescribed an individual learning plan to improve these areas. We raise awareness of literacy services We raise awareness of literacy services through national awareness campaigns. We have produced eleven TV series in association with RTE and national TV, Radio and Cinema advertising campaigns. NALA operate a Freephone support line that is staffed by experienced operators who can identify callers’ needs and advise them on free services nationwide. This includes tuition in 120 local adult education centres or NALA’s Tutoring Service where they tutor people over the phone. We advance adult literacy policy through research We work in partnership with government departments, organisations, tutors and learners to advance adult literacy policy. This work is supported by evidence-based research which examines international best practice, reviews Irish policy and produces recommendations to support people with unmet literacy needs. Our policy work aims to influence Government policy and lobby for appropriate actions and funds to improve literacy and numeracy levels in Ireland.

The original architect of this interesting and scenic 18 hole parkland course, Tom Williamson, left a supreme legacy at Stanton, demonstrating how golf and nature can blend harmoniously. The course has an enviable reputation of being in excellent condition throughout the year and in addition has some of the purest greens in the county. As you approach the Club, on the left of the main drive you will find the driving range, a newly developed chipping and bunker play area and of course a practice putting green. Just the ticket to hone your skills prior to starting your round. Arranged in a double loop, the par 73 course offers a mix of tricky par threes, some long par fours which can test even the longer hitter and interestingly finishes with two par fives. The tree lined tight fairways reward accurate shots and punish those off line. This coupled with strategically placed bunkers and some elevated tight greens make this a true test of golf for players of all abilities. The first nine holes offers the chance to build a good score offering a number of birdie opportunities - if you play accurate iron shots to the greens. However the back nine can soon claw back birdies made, with holes 13 to 18 always proving a good test particularly in the prevailing wind.

What started in 2002 as the first graduate class of a Hong Kong coach training school reconnecting to share experiences, we are now the longest established professional coaching association in Hong Kong. With well over 100 coaches and counting, we have grown into a professional community of individuals who share the common purpose to inspire and nurture people to be their best through coaching.We continuously strive to meet the needs of all our members.
