I am delighted to welcome you to Ormiston Rivers Academy. Our mission is to deepen learning and raise aspiration. I am proud to represent the staff and students of Ormiston Rivers, a school that really embodies the ambitions we have for the children of our community. Our students are resilient and respectful young people, independently working to seize and create opportunities for themselves and others. They are ambitious and aspirational; set to change the world for the better. We promote a creative approach, and we have excellent facilities for dance, drama, and music, embracing the discipline these subjects bring to your child. Our values are rooted firmly in the community, and we encourage links with local groups, businesses, and events. If you have seen our students perform or participate across the county, you will know that excellence is an expectation and this is clear in everything we do – be it through: academic or charitable endeavours, performance, or motor vehicle maintenance. Our staff know our students really well and strive at all times to meet their needs by keeping up to date with the latest educational research and continuing professional development. Ormiston Rivers is a dynamic and exciting learning environment with creative teaching and learning as the norm. We are the sole secondary school in Burnham on Crouch and the Dengie, and therefore uniquely placed to ensure that children achieve their potential. Our student exam results remain consistently above national averages and we continue to develop confident students who go out in the world with the security that only a strong education can provide. Our last Ofsted was in October 2016, with the school rated as Good in all aspects, the report can be found on the Ofsted section of our website. Aunty Social is a community arts organisation that gives people opportunities to develop their creativity, learn new skills and connect with others through positive arty activities. We coordinate a diverse programme of arts and cultural activities designed to bring people together in a safe, supportive, gentle space. What about the future? Well, we’re keen to build on everything we’ve achieved. We’re looking to employ staff to help us with our new venue and with office work – hey, if we can do all of this in our free time on evenings and weekends, imagine what we could achieve if we had some help! All in all, we want to continue offering the people of the Fylde Coast even more great things to do. We want to share and make great art in our local communities so we can all enjoy all the social benefits. A little history We started out back in 2011 as a group of friends who wanted something fun, affordable and social to do. There were very few ways to meet new people that didn’t involve going to a pub or a bar. So we raided our attics, scoured our wardrobes and went off to a car boot sale to raise £30 for our very first workshop. Since then, we’ve done all manner of lovely activities and reaching thousands of local people. We’ve received funding from a variety of sources such as Arts Council England, Blackpool Council, BFI, Richmond Fellowship, Leftcoast, Street to Scale and EU Youth Initiatives but this is not the majority of our income. We really believe in sustainability and work hard to earn our own income through workshop delivery, research and creative retail sales; making sure that projects can pay for themselves or each-other. Fast forward to 2022 and we now have a variety of projects on the go as well as online arts and culture magazine Blackpool Social Club and the Winter Gardens Film Festival. We’re still completely volunteer-run and led; we are super proud of all our helpers who help us put on events and activities to a professional standard.

Welcome Sidney Stringer Academy caters for 1450 students aged 11-19 including a large sixth form. The Academy opened in September 2010 and moved into our new building in 2011. The school was originally a sponsored academy but in 2014 following an Ofsted inspection which judged the academy to be outstanding we became a sponsor in our own right. Sidney Stringer is now the lead school in the Sidney Stringer Multi Academy Trust and there are currently 5 schools in the trust: Ernesford Grange Community Academy, Radford Primary Academy, Riverbank Academy (Special School) and Sidney Stringer Primary Academy. All of the schools are working together with the aim of providing an outstanding education for all of our pupils. Our ambition at Sidney Stringer Academy is to create a vibrant, happy and successful academy which delivers the very highest standards of education and nurtures each student’s talents and skills and plays a central role in meeting the needs of our local community. Sidney Stringer Academy is a very successful school. We have been judged as OUTSTANDING by Ofsted in all categories. We are currently very oversubscribed and an extremely popular local school. The curriculum we offer both stretches the gifted and talented and supports those with special needs. Ofsted commented that “The Academy supports students exceptionally well”. We set high standards and have high expectations of all. We all look forward to working in partnership with parents and appreciate your support in achieving the status as an outstanding Academy. Who we are and what we do Established in 1999, Surrey Lifelong Learning Partnership (SLLP) is a registered Charity. Each year we help between 600 and 800 people return to learn to gain new skills, qualifications and employment. We rely on a mix of income streams, including generating funds through our Bike Project social enterprise and securing grant funding for projects. Our vision: All within Surrey have the opportunity to re-engage in learning throughout their lives. Our mission: To work with partners to ensure that those, in Surrey and beyond, who have missed out on learning in the past, have opportunities to learn and to reach their full potential. What we offer: Opportunities for more people to learn by providing courses locally. Ongoing support so that they are able to continue on their learning journey. Approaches to learning which are more attractive and accessible. A shared understanding of local learning needs among education and training providers. A positive influence over the policies and planning to meet local learning needs and wants. Who do we support: Those living within disadvantaged communities in Surrey and other parts of the South-East. Adults (19+) of all ages who wish to develop new skills to gain employment, to improve their health or well-being, or to develop new interests.
