Liverpool Golf Club

liverpool golf club

Despite the sometimes challenging nature of our Western Sydney golf course, it’s still our passion is to provide golfers of all skill levels with a memorable and enjoyable experience at the course known as ‘the golfer’s golf course’. A picturesque 18 hole par 72 Championship golf course, we’re located in Hollywood Drive, Lansvale New South Wales. The golf course is unique in that it has been designed and built on the peninsula formed by the Georges River and Prospect Creek, set on the banks of the Chipping Norton Lake. Quiet and secluded, you’ll enjoy the tranquil setting, so much so that you’ll find it hard to believe that you’re actually in the middle of Western Sydney! The golf course makes for an excellent test of skills both for the professional and amateur golfer. With a length of over 6300 meters, water comes into play on 14 holes, so shot selection is important and you’ll be rewarded for strategic shot placement along with many risk and reward opportunities. We provide and host an array of golf lessons for juniors on our golf course, which include beginners golf lessons to advanced. With multiple levels to participate in, our golf lessons are some of the most unique, challenging and advanced in Sydney. The exquisite golf course settings at Liverpool Golf Club has allowed us to host many prestigious events, including the Australian PGA, the NSW Open in 2006 and 2007 and has been a qualifying venue for the Australian Open for the past 10 years. Liverpool Golf Club delivers an incomparable experience for our members and guests in an inviting and advancing environment and setting. Liverpool Golf Club also offers some of the cheapest golf memberships in Sydney with outstanding benefits. Our luscious greens, our challenging and well-crafted golf course, our rich history and notoriety and the experience we provide along with our cheap memberships makes us one of the most desirable golf clubs in Sydney.

Romanian Cultural Centre

romanian cultural centre

London

Throughout the years we have been developing a collaborative network of interests and opportunities for the Romanian community living in the UK, contributing to England's multicultural milieu. We facilitate cultural exchanges between Britain and Romania, constantly aiming to improve our relationship. RCC also provides an up to date Guide containing information about Romanian institutions, organisations, businesses and services in the UK. Our Work We rely on the enthusiasm of our team of volunteers, who get involved in our programmes and help us improve invariably. Moreover, the Centre benefits from a number of voluntary British advisers on dealings with British institutions and audiences. These are friends of Romania, private or public persons from various institutions who have supported the Centre in its endeavours by encouraging us to bring new ideas to life. Besides the cultural activities implied by the name, RCC also plays an active part in the social life of the Romanian Diaspora in Britain. Our History The idea of establishing an organisation to represent Romanians in the UK dates from the '50s, when ACARDA (Asociatia Culturala a Romanilor din Anglia - The Cultural Association of the Romanians in England) was founded by Ion Ratiu and Horia Georgescu working together with various individuals, notably the ladies of the Romanian community. In 1984 the UMRL (Uniunea Mondiala a Romanilor Liberi - The World Union of Free Romanians) was launched in Geneva to unite Romanians from all over the world. Ion Ratiu was elected the first President. From that date (1984) UMRL published a monthly newspaper in Romanian and English, 'Romanul Liber' (Free Romanian), which flourished until 1997. In 1984 a British branch of UMRL was founded, along with branches in 23 other countries. Sandu Pobereznic was elected as the first British President, and succeeded by Nicolae Ratiu in 1992. The newspaper was closed and political activity sharply scaled down after the election of 1996, when it was considered that the objective of UMRL, the restoration of freedom and democracy to Romania, had largely been achieved.

Ashlawn School

Rugby,

As the Principal I am delighted to welcome you to Ashlawn School. I am proud to be part of its heritage, its success and its future: we are a school where excellence is at the heart of everything we do. I believe passionately in education and I know that Ashlawn provides the very best educational experience for all its young people. We are a happy school where high standards and expectations lead to outstanding academic results for all our students. Respect for each other and high standards of behaviour are values which we all share and for which we are all responsible. My colleagues and I are committed to providing an inspirational environment where our students are engaged and enthused, and where learning enables all young people to realise their academic potential and acquire the skills and values they need for life’s journey. Whilst academic success is important we recognise that there is more to education than exam passes; confidence, adaptability, learning skills, creativity and resilience are all necessary life skills. Success is celebrated in all aspects of school life as we recognise the needs of each individual and where everyone really does matter. As a bi-lateral school, Ashlawn is the perfect blend of tradition and innovation. We are a forward-thinking and exciting centre of learning with excellent results and our young people are proud to belong to a school which offers the range of opportunities that our unique curriculum affords. Our record of success is reflected in our A level and GCSE results and we are committed to providing the highest standards of provision. In 2013 we were delighted when Ofsted recognised the school as outstanding in every category and shortly afterwards we were designated a National Teaching School with responsibility for teacher training and supporting other schools in our region. This success is testimony to the aspirations and efforts of our community – our students, their families and our staff.

Sholfins Swim School

sholfins swim school

Bromsgrove

Sholfins Swim School CIC is a not-for-profit company born from a passion and love for swimming. We are extremely passionate about our community. Our aim is to try and remove as many barriers as possible, preventing our community of Redditch from learning to swim. The team at Sholfins recognise that due to the pandemic there has been a huge impact on children having access to water in their early years. A number of primary/middle schools have also been unable to provide this life skill to their pupils prior to the pandemic for several different reasons, therefore, falling short of the national curriculum requirements, through no fault of their own. Swimming and water safety has been a statutory element of the national curriculum for physical education in England since 1994. This means that every 11-year-old child should leave primary/middle school with the skills to keep themselves safe. Swimming lessons provide all children with vital skills to help with survival and this is no different for children with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND). By 2025, over 780,000 children with SEND will be in the education system. However, inequalities in the ability of schools and teachers to offer high quality opportunities for them to participate in PE, School Sport or Physical Activity still exist, with disabled young people twice as likely to be physically inactive as non-disabled people. The focus on the new revised Ofsted inspection framework is also an area of consideration for schools to bare in mind. At Sholfins we believe everyone should have the opportunity to learn to swim. All of our instructors are Level 2, Swim England qualified and have RLSS Lifeguard, First Aid and Safeguarding Qualifications. The team are passionate about teaching and ensure that each child is given the support and encouragement to become water confident no matter what age. We are registered with Swim England and follow the learn to swim programme and the School Swimming and Water Safety charter.
