Dionne Smith, Founder DPS Brand Consultancy Ltd

dionne smith, founder dps brand consultancy ltd

As a personal coach and business brand consultant, I work with new entrepreneurs and established businesses, to help them learn how to develop themselves, their business and their team into an authentic, influential and powerful brand. Creating a successful brand takes time, but the benefits you and your business receive definitely make the focus and investment you need to get there worthwhile. The most important thing is to start from the inside and work outwards. Stay focused on your mission, vision and your values and use them as your foundation to build a consistent, strong and trusted business that always strives to deliver on its brand promise. Having worked for over 25 years in the public and private sector, my experience has taught me that in order to create a successful brand, you need to invest in yourself (and your team) as well as your business. It's also been a personal journey of discovery for me and it hasn't been without it's challenges in pursuit of learning more about myself and having the self-confidence to value myself and everything I have learned. I now use my skills, knowledge and experience to fulfil my passion of helping others to do the same. The reason people work with me is because I care about what matters to them. I'm honest, open and genuine in my approach and I don't try to force people down a route that's not right for them. Your success is relative to you and the determination your have to be successful.

The Blaque Room

the blaque room

The Blaque Room is an community organisation started in in the hopes of highlighting the realities of sexual assault, human trafficking and similar atrocities. Although this is the case The Blaque Room also prides itself on being a place that offers some solutions by signposting people to organizations that can help, safety apps and also by being a supplier of personal safety devices. Established in November 2020 after a viral sexual assault video took the internet by storm, The Blaque Room saw the need to make young women and boys feel safe. Therefore, put up a post detailing the plan of supplying personal safety alarms to THIRTY young people in the local area and was soon inundated with thousands of requests for an alarm, thousands in donations and thousands of messages of support and also messages of people who have overcome and are still going through various forms of abuse. People of all ages, races and genders were thrilled with the idea of there being an organization that seeks to tackle sexual assault head on and provide a deterrent/ solution. Being an open and transparent organization, anonymized messages and requests would often be shared with followers of the page to keep them updated and make them aware of the demand. Since then, The Blaque Room has had the honour of providing over seven hundred young people across England with personal safety devices for free. A significant amount of the recipients has had to use their alarms and have in fact attributed them to saving their life.

London

West Central London Fixers bring together volunteer repairers and the community to fix their electronics for free. The idea is to nurture repair culture in the community, rather than throwing away electronics – indeed e-waste has become a huge environmental problem. The events are open to volunteer learner repairers so are educational as well. WCL Fixers currently organise monthly free repair events at the Dalgarno Trust and the Space in North Kensington as well as at the Livat shopping centre in Hammersmith. The idea however is to have three branches: WCL Fixers – North Kensington WCL Fixers – Hammersmith WCL Fixers - Westminster - from April 2023 We are supported by the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea and the London Borough of Hammersmith Fulham. We work in partnership with the Restart Project. West Central London Fixers also engages in the private repair and recycling of laptops. Trainee sessions now available at our repair events - (2 hours). Scroll down to the events in black and white. Reuse things: Library of Things, also present at Livat Hammersmith, helps you save money and reduce waste by affordably renting out useful Things like drills, sound systems and sewing machines from local spaces.
