West Central London Fixers bring together volunteer repairers and the community to fix their electronics for free. The idea is to nurture repair culture in the community, rather than throwing away electronics – indeed e-waste has become a huge environmental problem. The events are open to volunteer learner repairers so are educational as well. WCL Fixers currently organise monthly free repair events at the Dalgarno Trust and the Space in North Kensington as well as at the Livat shopping centre in Hammersmith. The idea however is to have three branches: WCL Fixers – North Kensington WCL Fixers – Hammersmith WCL Fixers - Westminster - from April 2023 We are supported by the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea and the London Borough of Hammersmith Fulham. We work in partnership with the Restart Project. West Central London Fixers also engages in the private repair and recycling of laptops. She founded and operated an upscale interior design and home furnishings consignment store before retiring to NC. Vice-President: Nancy Miller - Nancy, a new resident of SC, recently retired from her professional fundraising career in Baltimore, MD. having worked for Easter Seals, The National Defense University Foundation, and most recently, the American Cancer Society. Treasurer: Janet Payeski - Janet is enjoying the vast opportunities the Grand Strand area offers artists. Formerly a part-time resident, she moved here full-time recently and hopes that her 30-year background in Finance, including Cash Management and Financial Analysis, brings helpful skills to the Treasurer position. Secretary: Lynn Buck - Lynn is a pastel artist and former resident of CT. She became interested in pastels 20 years ago and trained under a local artist. She works mostly in pastel, but also in watercolor and acrylics. She lives in Carolina Shores with her husband, dog and cat. Second Floor Studios & Arts (SFSA) was established in 1997. It is a leading arts organisation providing affordable studio space for visual and fine artists' and craft and designer makers. Our core aim is providing best quality studios at monthly rental prices our studio members can afford and whom would otherwise struggle to find comparable studio workspace on the open commercial market. Aims: • to provide a supportive environment in which our members can flourish, allowing for the time and the space needed to research, develop, experiment and make their work. • to support continual professional development beyond the physical studio space for our community. Here at PQA Bristol, we are super excited about our new projects to kick off 2023! In Musical Theatre and Comedy & Drama our students will be working on skills whilst we begin rehearsals for our upcoming musical of The Little Mermaid, performed at the 1542 Performing Arts Centre! In Film & Television, we are exploring pre-production, storytelling and filmmaking practice whilst taking part in a variety of PQA challenges! Our Poppets will be exploring a range of themed sessions, they will even be making their own Poppets movie! All of our students will be developing their confidence and Performing Arts skills across the range of brilliant sessions we offer! We are thrilled that due to popular demand we are launching our Brand New Friday Academy in May - Book your place at our Free Open Day to experience the Friday Fun! Here at PQA students participate in an array of diverse and challenging modules designed to engage and excite our students- there is never a dull moment! We are passionate about building confidence and developing children's skills in the performing arts while striving to allow each individual to reach their potential! Our staff are fully trained and actively working in the industry, giving our students the best possible experience in their modules. We offer customised training opportunities on a range of open courses for a wide variety of job and life skills opportunities through one-to-one learning support, individual learning plan, progress reviews and advice and guidance. We have delivered programmes ranging from privately funded courses to ESA, EFA 16-18, Traineeship, Apprenticeship, Advanced Learning Loan and Adult Education contracts from entry level 1 to level 7. Our excellence in quality assurance, leadership, and project management have enabled the sustainability of our business, timely completion of our learners' courses and in getting to their destinations. Our average success rate since 2014 is ninety-eight percent. Zurbel Training works with local communities such as the Job Centre Plus, Connexions, Advice & Guidance and the Outreach Team in making sure candidates are guided on the right path. Our gratitude to our business partners working with us for our learners' work job placement, 95 per centre. With the support of our centre partners, courses are now delivered closer to learners' vicinity within their community. They also have the opportunity to study from home via our online E-portfolio assessment system. On completion, all our learners supported with progression route into further education or employment, where we offer them workshop activities on their CV writing, confidence building and job interviews techniques. General feedback from stakeholders i.e learners, employers, staff and funders have been so encouraging, in seeing learners achieving their aims. Our main aim is to increase our provisions to the hard to reach target group in the country and to secure direct funding.
