We are a newly formed Edinburgh baseball community club open to all over-16s and adults who are interested in the sport. You can join us regardless of gender or your level of experience in baseball. Our practice sessions are free and atmosphere always welcoming. Winter training is NOW on Sundays. Please get in touch if you are interested in joining us. Players are the most important people in the sport. Playing for the team, and for the team to win, is the most fundamental part of the game. But not winning at any cost. Fair play and respect for all others in the game are also fundamentally important. Players should be aware of their obligations towards training and the game. A player should: ⚾ Make every effort to develop their own sporting abilities, in terms of skill, technique, tactics and stamina. ⚾ Set a positive example for others, particularly younger players and supporters. ⚾ Avoid all forms of gamesmanship and timewasting. ⚾ Know, respect and abide by the laws of the game and competition rules. ⚾ Accept success and failure, victory and defeat, equally. ⚾ Treat other members of the club and opponents with due respect at all times, irrespective of the result of the game, safeguard the physical fitness, avoid violence and rough play, and help injured teammates or opponents. ⚾ Show respect towards match officials, team officials (including opposition team officials) and supporters. ⚾ Abide by the instructions of their coach and team officials, provided they do not contradict the spirit of this code. ⚾ Give maximum effort and strive for the best possible performance during a game, even if his team is in a position where the desired result has already been achieved. ⚾ Be aware of their obligations to their own team and make every effort consistent with fair play, sportsmanship and the laws of the game to help his own team win. ⚾ Not use inappropriate language. ⚾ Resist any temptation to take banned substances or use banned techniques. ⚾ Refrain from using any discriminatory language of any kind. The Solihull Integrated Lifestyle Service offers tailored support for people who want to make lifestyle changes including losing weight, eating more healthily, reducing stress and smoking cessation. The lifestyle service, delivered in partnership with a number of other organisations, makes up a significant part of Solihull First, Solihull’s Community Wellbeing Service: a broader partnership of voluntary and community organisations working together to improve the lives of Solihull residents. Together we promote self-care and independence, making it easier for people in Solihull to find information and advice, as well as providing specialist support for those who need it. We deliver the Social Prescribing Link Workers Service in GP practices across Birmingham and Solihull in partnership with SDSmyhealthcare and their Primary Care Networks. Social Prescribing allows GPs and other care staff to refer patients to a Link Worker, based at the surgery. Link Workers then work with patients one-to-one (either face-to-face or over the phone), offering direct support and signposting to help them take control of their own health and wellbeing, and helping them to increase their active involvement with their local community.

Atlantic Bow (Communications) Limited was originally set up in 1994 by David Walls and the late Alexander Grant as a consultancy and project development firm. Dr. Stewart Massie was appointed Technical Director in 2009. We specialise in market research, risk management, open and distance learning, as well as research into combining information and communications technologies with legal, financial, commercial, educational and other professional services. We have worked largely in the fishing, seafood and aquaculture sectors. In particular, our EC funded report "The Seafood Industry of the Highlands and Islands of Scotland and the West Coast: The Problems of Remoteness in a European Context" (EC Ref. UK-11-Focus, August 1997) had a major impact on the UK seafood industry and has been the basis of much of our subsequent work to date. More recently we were awarded an FIFG grant to carry out an "innovation" development project that looked at the vital question of the standardisation of data to facilitate data exchange across the seafood industry as a "proof of concept" project. To demonstrate the practical application of the draft standard specification that was developed, there was specific focus on quality management, compliance certification and audit in the field of organic aquaculture. If the Instructor is not teaching a street application then they are teaching a 'Do' a 'Way' to reach inner harmony, a way to overcome yourself and become a better person, a form of meditation. This in itself is a noble endeavour and for those looking for that path then these martial arts a fantastic path to tread. As a combat system V.I.P.A is also a 'Way' but it is a way for warriors not martial artists, it is also not the only 'Way' it is only one path with ideas, philosophies, treaties, strategies, tactics and techniques gained over 40 years of combatives study. Having said that, it is a highly effective method of combat. V.I.P.A embraces change, evolvement and open mindedness. From its conception in 1988 V.I.P.A has evolved and continues to evolve as threats and evironments change. From the streets of Northern Ireland to training for possible combat against Russian Spetsnaz Special Forces to the 1991 Gulf War and beyond, V.I.P.A has adapted to its environment and continues to do so with civilian, police and close protection applications. V.I.P.A is in reality a sphere of influence and at its centre are the Core Concepts, the vital skills that are required of any means of combat. The Findhorn Nairn and Lossie Rivers Trust continue to address the issues facing our rivers and the wildlife that depends on them. Our FNLRT Management Plan 2021 details the diverse range of projects we are planning to help conserve and restore our river catchments. Over the course of the last two centuries removal of natural forests, overgrazing and changing land use have significantly degraded the ecosystems of our rivers. Moreover, we now face a climate crisis which is causing increasing global temperatures and dramatically changing weather patterns. These factors combine to present a very serious threat to wildlife in the catchment of our rivers, particularly to salmon. This demands our urgent attention and to tackle this we are delighted to launch the Findhorn Watershed Initiative. Through this ambitious initiative we seek to bring the River Findhorn Watershed’s communities, landowners, businesses, farmers, land managers, local authorities, and educational institutions together to work at nature’s scale to sink carbon, restore habitat, and mitigate the impacts of the twin crises of climate change and biodiversity loss for future generations. These are global threats, which require large scale programs and significant funding to begin to reverse the trends. The Trust recognises that we have an important part to play to ensure that our river catchments benefit from these initiatives. To be effective, projects will need to be coordinated at a scale beyond that of individual land holdings. A natural unit for this coordination is the river catchments. We will only succeed if we work in coalition with landowners and local interests, across catchments and with partners who enable scale and additional resources to be brought to bear on these issues. We continue to work with all our friends and partners to make a difference in this important work to improve the quality of our river environments.
