Nottingham

Hands On Pottery is a small ceramics school based near the centre of Nottingham. The building is light and airy offering Wheelchair access to all three work studios. We have been working with people since 1990 and we encourage everyone to reach their own individual aims and objectives. Confidence is enhanced by our high standards of teaching and working in a comfortable friendly environment. The pottery is all wheel chair friendly with adjustable tables and a loop fitted in the main workshop. As the pottery is all on the ground floor it is easily accessible for all. When working at the pottery you will be encouraged to work individually, on your own chosen designs, which will be finished to a very high standard. The teachers working at the pottery are proud of our reputation, as many students have discovered their creative ability with us through the art of clay. Many students who have never worked with clay before have gained qualifications or found a new creative skill they enjoy. We believe that clay is a wonderful medium to work with and that clay brings out the best in people. The most satisfactory way we can describe our findings is: "It's not what people do to clay, it's what clay does to people" Hands On Pottery offers classes to everybody. Northampton

Kingsthorpe College is the kind of school which is dedicated to ensuring that we make a difference, in any way that we can, to both our community and our young people. We are passionate about providing opportunities for all our students to achieve artistic, athletic and academic excellence. We very much believe that our role is to help develop successful learners, confident individuals, and responsible citizens. In addition to ensuring that all our young people achieve their potential in these areas, there is also a genuine commitment to respect for individuals which is demonstrated in the daily life of the College. One of the first things you notice when you walk into the College is how friendly everybody is to each other – how frequently people smile, take an interest in other people, and find something positive and encouraging to say. We always take the time to celebrate success. For us, high quality relationships are at the heart of everything that we do. We want our young people to be happy, confident, curious, and resilient learners. We know that this can only happen if relationships, built on trust and mutual respect, are central to all aspects of our work. We believe that when young people feel safe and secure, everything is possible, and we promise to do our utmost to make sure that we unlock the potential in everyone. All we can ask from our students is that they do their best, and we value hard work, determination, and thoughtfulness highly. We want all our young people to ask themselves just one question at the end of every day – was I better today than I was yesterday? So whilst passing exams, and gaining the necessary qualifications to take that next step, is hugely important, we are equally committed to providing our young people with the space and resources to develop their character. We are proud of the extracurricular provision that we are able to offer, and we work hard to give our students plenty of opportunities to develop their confidence and creativity – both in and out of lessons. We also believe in clarity of communication, and the power of feedback. We always welcome open and honest dialogue between all those involved in and with the College. We are committed to a restless excellence which can only be achieved through regular feedback, and you will always find us receptive to this. We are excited and optimistic about what the future holds for the young people and community which we serve. Of course the best way to experience KC is by visiting us, and you will always find our doors open. If you would like to come and see us, please do get in touch - I look forward to sharing the College with you.

Colwyn Bay

In 1983 at a time of record high unemployment a group of local business leaders came together. Their vision? Create an organisation that would enable young people to develop the future skills they needed to obtain work and forge successful careers, while benefiting the community. This organisation became North Wales Training. It steadily grew, responding to local employment challenges. It built strong relationships with private and public sector partners. And it cultivated expert knowledge in the key skills people of the area needed to be successful in modern workplaces. Having already formed a work-based learning partnership with Coleg Llandrillo and Arfon Dwyfor Training Ltd, it was only natural for North Wales Training to partner with the emergent umbrella organisation Grŵp Llandrillo Menai (GLlM) when this was established in 2012. That the Grwp - the largest education provider in Wales - decided to acquire North Wales Training fully in 2018 is a testament to the reputation North Wales Training had earned itself. Over 38 years the company has raised the prospects of thousands of people and businesses on its own and in partnership with leading education providers, always keeping step with the times. It draws on its rich heritage and wealth of experience to offer a comprehensive range of high-quality innovative programmes, training and job opportunities. As we navigate another challenging decade, the staff at North Wales Training continue to work tirelessly in pursuit of the company’s vision, that "all our learners will succeed." THE VISION, MISSION & CORE VALUES Vision All our learners will succeed. Mission North Wales Training is committed to helping people gain skills and qualifications for employability, so that they are equipped for productive, sustainable and fulfilling employment in a modern economy. Core Values LEADERSHIP – Lead by example, embracing change and striving for excellence. INTEGRITY – Integrity is at the heart of all our relationships and everything we do. COMMUNICATION – Build open and honest relationships through communication. EQUALITY – We will embrace diversity in all aspects of our work. SUSTAINABILITY – We will ensure we are resource efficient and our working. INNOVATION – We will continue to be innovative and develop entrepreneurial thinking. I am extremely happy with the service provided by North Wales Training to ATS over the past 3 years. We have recruited a number of young people from the Traineeship Programme. The service is fantastic and Donna has been a great help in particular. I am extremely happy to continue using North Wales Training in the future and would like to thank them for their continued support! ANTHONY BEACH - ATS EUROMASTER Her confidence has grown immensely since she started and completed her level 3 diploma. Being given the opportunity to be a supervisor and to complete her Health and Social Care Apprenticeship training has made a huge difference to her. I believe it is because she has a fantastic assessor who has empowered her to show her full potential. Top marks for all involved, always a pleasure to deal with North Wales Training.
