Millars Strictly Dance Studios are run by the principals, Alan & Norma Millar, former British Senior Ballroom O/50s Champions and undefeated Scottish Senior Open & National Ballroom Champions. Classes are run at a number of venues throughout the East Central Belt of Scotland with classes at all grades from complete Beginners through Improver, Intermediate and Advanced dancing grades in both Ballroom and Latin American styles of dance. Private tuition is also available with either Alan or Norma on a one to one basis by appointment.

Churches We come alongside churches in their short-term missions ministry, providing customized training to church members in preparation for their upcoming trips. Also, if a church is sending a missionary, we provide a host of courses that can prepare individuals and couples for long-term missions service. Missionaries Missionaries come to us with an entrepreneurial vision for serving others, and we help them refine that calling and formulate a plan on how to get where they want to go. Our help to them may be as simple as providing a course to help them gain a necessary skill or as long-term as becoming their sending agency.

Make the most of your summer, improve your open water skills and get ready to love outdoor swimming all over again! 1-to-1 Coaching Sessions 1-to-1 Coaching Sessions are available on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, from 18 May to 3 September 2022. Sessions are 45 minutes long run throughout the week, Tuesday to Saturday. Our coach will work with you to identify your specific needs and goals, and develop a tailored plan for you. Our coach will also offer underwater video to film your technique and provide immediate feedback. We recommend booking at least 5 sessions to get the most from this focussed coaching. You can purchase a discounted 5 Session Class Pass on our booking system, and use this to book the session times and dates that work best for you. If five is too much then you can also book individual sessions and then work on a specific needs and number of sessions with our coach (such as improving technique or advice on a training plan). 1-to-1 Coaching Sessions are available at £50 per session which includes free entry to Tooting Bec Lido (worth £8), and if you purchase a 5 Session Class Pass you'll only pay £45 per session. Marconi Sailing Club is open for anyone to join, subject to the normal formalities. The club site is a green field of some 10 acres, with ample boat storage space, parking and a wide launching ramp accessible at all states of tide. Our two storey club house boasts hot showers, a cosy bar, professionally catered galley, as well as the usual facilities you would expect to find at a sailing club. Sailing Waters The club sails in the wide tidal estuary of the River Blackwater, with launching and sailing possible at any state of the tide. The River is ideal for exploring the islands of Osea and Northey and trips can be made to Bradwell and Maldon. Beyond Bradwell the North Sea beckons our more intrepid sailors. Racing The club has a diverse sailing calendar which runs from mid March to the end of October. There are traditionally two races on a Sunday, one starting at 11am and the other at around 2pm. On Sundays there are separate starts for different fleets, usually two catamaran fleets and three dinghy fleets. During these times our support boats will be on the water manned by club volunteers . If you don’t want to race then feel free to explore the River Blackwater and cruise. There are number of other events planned throughout the year including Dinghy Cruises to destinations near and far, Friday night sailing and a Wednesday evening pursuit race along with a range of other events. Check out or sailing programme for more information. Classes Sailed Sailors at Marconi sail a range of classes including Tornado, F18, Sprint 15 and Spitfire Catamarans. For those with only one hull there are Solos, Toppers, Picos, Lasers, Larks, Wayfarers, Wanderers and many more. Cruiser Section Our cruiser section if almost full due to the excellent mooring and storage facilities available at reasonable prices. The club can only achieve this by the ‘Self Help’ philosophy that we engineer. Addictive Eaters Anonymous (AEA) is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from addictive eating. AEA has members who have suffered from anorexia, bulimia and binge eating. Many have been underweight, overweight or obese; others were people of average weight yet suffered with an obsession with food. Members may have used exercise and other substances to try and control their weight. Before coming to AEA, members found that they were powerless over food, and unable to stop the food obsession. AEA is not a diet or weight loss organisation. AEA members follow a Twelve Step programme, based on that of Alcoholics Anonymous. Through working the Steps, members find a Higher Power and freedom from the obsession with food. Members share their experience with newcomers of how they have found sobriety. Sobriety in AEA is freedom from addictive eating and all mind-altering substances. Addictive eating and eating addictively are terms used in Addictive Eaters Anonymous to describe obsessive or compulsive food behaviour, including, but not limited to, overeating, binge eating, undereating, starving, purging, compulsive exercise, the use of drugs to control weight, obsessive thoughts about food and obsession with body image or weight control. AEA is not affiliated with any other organisation. AEA meetings are open to anyone. There is no cost to attend.
